It's all for the payday. Offer most people enough money and watch their standards drop right off the chart

Don't you love technology

My daughter had a Jasmine, not sure what the model number was, but it played very well and sounded good considering it was just the entry level model. Happy new guitar day Tony

Black and Gold all the way--GO STEELERS--now if Ben can control himself ......

How could I have forgotten duct tape. I guess you could still use it to bandage your finger after you drive your screwdriver/chisel into them

Thanks Pete. That  did indeed bring a lump to my throat. As the father of a soldier who served two tours in Iraq and now is deployed to Afghanistan and having served myself (Shortly after we pulled out of Nam) I appreciate the love and respect that you and other people show towards our troops. If you or anybody else wants to show your appreciation to our troops now, contact your elected officials and get an address where you can send some needed items to our guys and girls in Afghanistan. Most of those deployed there now have no access to a P.X. (that's a type of store for those who don't know). A big thing on my son's list is hard candy, which they hand out to village children. This serves two purposes. One it develops a bond between the villagers and the troops and two it actually helps them in gathering information as to enemy movements. Other items needed are -tobacco products-lighters-snack and other food items - magazines and newspapers and baby wipes(often this is the only way they have to maintain hygiene ) Thanks again

I was working in Pittsburgh PA doing renovations on a school. Trying to get home I had to travel south then east before heading north towards home as the tunnels leading into the city( the most direct route) were shut down. A fitting tribute to those who lost loved ones on that terrible day.

you know, if you hadn't used the dremel you would now be a true redneck luthier

I wonder if it would be possible to incorporate an auto scroll feature to the songs? I've seen this other places and it really helps if you want to play a song before you save it to your book or print it out. just wondering

Hey thanks topdown. I wasn't aware you could do that(at least I don't think I knew) Very cool feature and extremely handy. And Butch, good to see a PA boy here. Maybe things will work out and we can hook up some time. Zurf also has roots in PA just a little further up the Clarion River. Who knows, maybe a PA jam?

Can anyone point me towards some easy songs for mandolin. I got one for my wife and while I've found some two finger chords I haven't located a good site for songs. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance

I've seen a lot of posts concerning how to do repairs, change pickups and various other subjects that fall into this category. So after wasting my morning in cyber space I went to Gibsons website and found that they will repair any brand of stringed instrument. The link below will take you directly to their repairs website. For those of us that are familiar with woodworking and have some skill with tools they also have step-by-step instructions for some repairs or upgrades. Go to www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/ProductSpotlight/RepairAndRestoration    If this link happens to not work simply go to www.gibson.com and choose from their menu. Hopefully this will help some of us with repair and tecnical issues

I have probably close to 500 different songs in different books and folders, everything from classic country to new rock. I'm not saying that I can play all of these with any degree of expertise but I have at one time or another given them all a try. I have maybe 30 or so that I have played often enough that I remember them depending on the circumstances. I find that if I try too hard to remember a certain song I often draw a blank, but if some one jogs my memory a bit I can usually put it together. Some  that I play constantly are not a problem but let me not play one for six months or so and I really struggle putting chords and lyrics together. So I usually keep a folder handy with what I want to play. This not only helps me but lets whoever is around to pick songs and either play or sing along. I'll change out what is in the folder depending on who I happen to be playing with or playing for. I've found that this gives everyone an opportunity to get involved with the music. After all, its not how well you can play something(although it sure helps if you don't sound like you're torturing cats) it's how much fun everybody has

Valuable lesson here. If you're going to ship something like this make sure it's well padded and protected. I guess postal and shipping carriers around the world are about the same, grab it,toss it and forget it. Looks like quite a challenge to repair, lots of luck with it

No, I agree Doug. After making sure the bills are paid, the teenagers get their allowance, and the wife gets the house money, there just isn't too much left to go do things. I've been checking in but haven't had a lot of free time what with work and home maintenance. And zguitar, I wouldn't say we've gone downhill, I've been on another site that really has gone downhill. Less posting is probably due to time constraints. Chordie is still number one

I just came from visiting the forum on a site that is very similar to this with one huge difference. Here the site is monitored closely and the people that visit here respect the other members and the rules. The site I am referring to is not monitored very closely(Pix,you'll know what site I'm referencing ) and as a result there is a large posting with links to,what seems like, every porn site on the web. (I realize that is probably not so but). Under a different section of the forum I found what amounts to over a hundred descriptions and links to different prescription drugs. Handy information maybe, but it has no place on a site like this. I'm not a prude or one to condemn people for what they want to look at but some people just don't get it. A lot of younger people are on here and other similar sites and don't need the exposure to trash of that sort. Long live Chordie and to the administrators and moderators a job well done

No unfortunately I didn't get around to going and seeing this guitar. I did check out the Pignose website and looked at some other all in one models that are for sale. Pretty neat concept although it has been done before,in one manner or the other. I believe it was Silvertone who sold a guitar and amp package where the amp was built into the guitar case. I'm sure there have been others but the names escape me now

For years I've heard of pignose amps. You know, the small amps that run on batteries that have a pretty big sound. Well I came across a woman who has a guitar made by pig nose. It's a strat style body with the amp built into the lower bout below the bridge. These never went into production but a couple hundred were released to ,I guess, test the market. The sweet part of this is the guitar is for sale. I may contact her since she is local too me and check this rare axe out. If anyone wants to see pics go to www.pennswoods.net and click on Pennswoods.net classifieds. That will be on the left side of the homepage near the top. She also has a link to a review from harmony central on this guitar

I was thinking it may be fun to start a trivia thread. I know my head is full of useless information(at least according to Goodwife) so lets share some.  Paul McCartney actually played the lead on the song Taxman. So who's next?

Congrats on the new guitar Roger. Personally I don't think I would be cutting into this beauty. I would stay with a clip-on pick up or transducer. Again that's my opinion. Anyhow, Happy New Guitar Day!
