Nice of you to say, trogdor..it was to do exactly that..to make the listener think the song would be the same mundain, lure you in and   shock,...there you are...visual stories thru audio is what we're after.. stage sets ...thumb nails in the visual art world ..you are most appreciated in your words. Be loose with the D chord dont play it all I think you'll hear it.
I played both guitars, and bass thru the BR8 didgital studio, drum machine, and my vocals..very little effects on the recording ..i like to keeep raw..Lena and I give you thanks for your comments ,....marcalan

I lived for 28 years in Charlotte, Guitarpix, and a southern fish fry sounds just right to me, especially with some small salt and pepper cats..and vinegar slaw and dont forget the "shut up dogs!.".[ hush puppies].What river is that?..Best I can do tho is to google earth and listen in and smell the delectables..marcalan

Great tune..Ark. Living in the West and like you love westerns and live them. and still do..Recording is fun, hard work but most satisfying..do you find that you need to have another fix [project] right away or you'll have a let down feeling like postpartum blues?..I do, I know the gals will laugh at that but all these are babies, beautiful newborns..fine job. Oh by the way, the English were very fond of buying Indian scalps back then in those early days. I was an Anthropology major in college and studied the Plains Tribes and the Horse Culture.. Just a little side thought..marcalan

Your responses are most appreciated..After doing recordings I always say, "Dont ever let someone tell you that being a musician/ recording artist is easy work." I'm always encouraged here with my friends on chordie and departure from the mundane is good advise Russ we should all be aware of..Thanks again starting with daddycool,Kap, Russ, Ark, and Roger. When Lena gets back I'm sure she'll write as well...marcalan

Russ how many instruments do you play? Is that you on a steel slide? Great tune..Im curious about singing harmony with yourself..I can attest to the number of retakes that I do in recording, let alone trying harmonizing... I could never afford real studio time..Well done and keep those tunes rolling..marcalan

I have been encourage to do this posting..Although, maybe not in this way...It is a  study that I did with the variation of one chord...and that would be ..D..To do things, simply, with one chord; opens an avenue of things to experience..and regardless of what some would think about Californians, the air is not filled with pot smoke but the indifference of cigarette smokers...and God's finger on the lightning button..however, I think this is invaluable.
To stop, and listen,..... silence speaks... to what one chord can provide, well, that is guitar..How many of us go into a dark room and hug this instrument and do just that? c'mon don't be afraid c'mon out of the closet...OK,.. I outed myself as a lover of the guitar...What's you're story? My dream is to come back to simple recordings of our voices and the instruments we play..rough maybe, who cares,? but the embelishments are cheap..Any body ever listen to Roscoe Holcomb? Bob Dylan said of him was," untamed sense of control."...my Grandma fed me raw vegetables and that's where i think talent lies or tells the truth ...so rightous talent; shine on, that's what I say..where are ya jasonhaugue???
Have a listen and be still, breathe, take it in...God love ya
