Hello tony, I weny through the same hassles as you about 4 years ago (before I found Chordie). I settled on an Ibanez Troubador TA 35 and I am very happy with the amp. Google this amp and read the features, I think the TA35 will suit your needs and your pocket well.

Hello bolleauxp,
Here is an old wives tale from Australia.
You rub into your nails a piece of kangaroo poo. This might not stop your nails from cracking, but it will stop you biting them.

Hello Deadstrings,
I also got a new laptop yesterday and set it up this morning. I just checked and I can get my songbooks with no problems. Maybe something amiss on your end.

Hello again Mike, I have been out in the boonies for a few weeks at work and as such, been out of touch with everyone. What has happened to the picks? Are still hanging on to them?

Any of you fine folk visiting Queensland, make sure you contact the Bushy, can't have these South Australians having all the fun. LOL. By the way, you do not need to bring your own guitar, I will loan you one. Unlike South Aussies, Queenslanders are a generous bunch.
Ray, great to see your kids involved in guitar with you, that's special.

Nela, hello again and thanks for the CD and music in the "picks" package. I knew 4 or 5 of the songs already, however I have to thank you for introducing me to the Mavericks and in particular "There goes my heart". I could not stop on this song until I had it nailed. I wish I could sing like him, awesome voice.
All the best and thanks again

We have a winner. I received an e-mail yesterday so the picks and some other interesting stuff will be posted off in the next day or so, once again on a long voyage.
As seems to be the custom, I have kept a few picks and added some, and other things  I hope some one will like.

This morning I came into possession of a large post bag with a heap of interesting picks and other stuff in it from NELA. I have had a quick look inside but have not made any decision on what to keep and what to include for the next recipient, but will do so over the weekend.
As usual, the first person to e-mail me will be the next lucky one to receive the package.

All the negative comments from people can not take away from Jessica, the amazing feat that she has accomplished. A true inspiration for young folks and especially young women.
Jessica joked at the the "welcome home do" when asked what her next challenge might be that she now wants to get her drivers licence. She also went on to say that she did not want to get off her boat at the jetty because she had spent the last seven months determined to stay on it.
Good sense of humour as well.

Bob,
All good advice above, I have had a Ibanez TA35 Troubador amp for around 3 years now and can not fault it, does all the things I think you want to try. Chorus and reverb are inbuilt and seperate channel for mic will give you all you need for a solo gig in small venues.
Another amp I have , and one you might consider is a Kustom KA60. This is a keyboard amp with a dozen or so various effects built in, very clean sound as you would expect from a keyboard amp and hooked up to a accoustic guitar allows you many different sounds and has a mic channel as well. Definately worth checking out

Hello all,
Craig 23, thanks a lot for your comments. I am in the same boat as Butch in as much as I have been playing accoustics for a long time but only recently (about a year) started on electric guitar. I found your information to the point and very helpfull. Thanks again.

I have had my Greg Bennet Royale now for approx 9 months and very happy with it, a cherry colour RL3. I dont gig but a mate of mine that does, in a rockabilly band, has used my guitar several times and loves it. He usually plays his own Telecaster if this means anything.

If there is an upside to Chordie crashing yesterday, it is that it does get the lurkers motivated to comment in the forums.
Just a thought.
A big thankyou to Admin for the quick repair to the site, I felt lost without my daily Chordie fix.

Hello all,  I work for a large green energy provider here in central Queensland. My company extracts coal seam gas and delivers it via pipelines to processing plants for export and also into a national grid for domestic use. The company also has their own power stations using coal seam gas to generate electricty, and once again delivered into a national power grid for domestic use. My title and role is that of superintendant with my main function being to ensure that employed contractors meet compliance requirements in areas of contract, project specifications, safety and relevant legislation. A challenging but very satisfying position. The down side is the lack of available strumming time, however, life is all about compromise.

Joe,
I have checked out your website, great reading and very informative. I will visit often.
I think that you are a relative new comer to Chordie, so a hearty welcome to you.
People like yourself that contribute to Chordie in a positive way make Chordie what it is today, the best of its kind on the net.
Thanks
Bushy

Best female performers- Dixie Chicks (politics aside), Shania Twain, Alicia Moore alias Pink, in modern times. Best all time- Aretha Franklin, Reba Macintyre, Patsy Kline, Dolly Parton.
Great up and comers here in Aus. are the McKlymonts, three sisters who have released an album this week. Do yourselves a favour and check them out, top muso's and georgous to boot. They will do well.
