Hey Roger;

Everthing I write is from true experiences. Truth be told this little incident resulted in my first "real", "unscheduled accomadations at the Crowbar Hotel", but that is another song to be posted later! Glad yu liked it.

Hey Mr. James:

Thanks for setting up my song "IF I LOVE YOU" into the Chordie format. There is just one thing. Somehow the second line of the chorus has been left out.The line is >>>>"[G]'Cause if I love you , the [C]way you love me,that's [D7] all I need to[G]know."<<<<

Other than that , the song sure looks "gussied-up and purdy" as a great man once said. I would do it myself but I still can't figure that s*#t out.

Sounds like you have a real winner there my friend. If this guy is that self-centred and full of himself, kiss him off with a big fat juicy one. He is the least of your worries, and will never be successful with that attitude anyway. Stay true to yourself and write some of your own or find another colabulator with a more congienial attitude. Basically, have fun with your talent, don't be inhibitted by someone elses lack there of.

Hey James, How yu doin'

Thanks for the upgrade in posting. There is only one problem. It seems that you left out the second line of the chorus. "[G]'Cause if I love you the [C]way you love me,That's[D7] I need to [G]know."

I would fix it myself but if I knew how to do that we wouldn't be haveing this conversation now would we? No big thing James, you being so busy with your new fancy title and all.(ha ha)

{t:If I Love You}
{c:capo 2}

[G]Well I'm the kind of guy, that [C]likes to roam around, to the [D7]people and places that I know.
[G]From far out west, where the [C]bright sun sets, to the [D7]lakes of Ontario.[G]
[G]I'll always come back to this [C]love that I've found, right [D7]in my home [G]town.
[G]She gives me the world in [C]my own mind, she [D7]never holds me [G]down.
{soc}
[G]So hold me and kiss me and [C]love me and tease me [D7]don't ever let me [G]go.
[G]'Cause if I love you the way [C]you love me, that's [D7]all I need to [G]know.
{c:repeat as musical}
{eoc}
[G]It's been a long time since [C]I've travelled around, over [D7]hills and back road [G]ends.
[G]Whats over the hill, [C]ah what a thrill, I'm [D7]glad I found out [G]then.
[G]Now I sit at home in my [C]rockin' chair, this [D7]pretty girl at my [G]side.
[G]She has my heart, my [C]mind and soul, she [D7]keeps this roamin' heart [G]satisfied.

If any one has the audacity to laugh at your songs, hand them the "mike" and request that they sing one of their compositions. When they start stuttering and backtalkin' a "shut-to-f*#k-up" would be appropiate. As for playing, try going into your local music store and B.S. with the guys in there. They could probably set you up with another cat with the same interest. Just an idea.

I agree 100%. James has always been willing to help in any way he can, and does it in a way that keeps everyone positive,and inspired. He has personally helped me out many times when looking for songs, asking advice and opinions on songwriting, and general B.S. concerning CHORDIE and music in general. Thanks again James, you're one of the guys that make this site so valuable to the avreage bonehead like me!!

Thanks there "upyerkilt" Your name always reminds me of a group a friend of mine was in for a while. Their name was "The Tearinmygotchies" Anyways thanks for the subscription and the suggestions. The next one will have a better sound, as I experiment as we go. I will check yours out soon and send comments back.

Just a quick comment here on diiferent styles of putting things together. I find myself playing a medley over and over in my head for days and then the lyric comes later and starts to fill the song up. The time frame is always different. As I said, sometimes it's weeks but then again I've written two or three songs in one afternoon That seem to be already done ,I just have to write them down. Whatever makes your bag swag I guess>

Thanks for the comments guys. Yea the digital camara is not the best but at least you can now get the 1rst person version. I would also like to hear some of your stuff, or interpitations of mine. Do you have a site available?

Hey Dirty Sanchas:

My philosophy is that if you can't feel it you shouldn't be playing it. I don't read music now either, but I play what I like and what I can. I agree with Roger to a certain degree, any knowledge is good but don't let your lack there of discourage you in any way. Keep bangibg away and always have fun!!!

As I stated earlier James, I am not a computer kind a guy. Where is this "formatted song post" thing?

197

(5 replies, posted in Songwriting)

Thanks Roger and James for your positive comments.I'm giggleing to myself over the broken string thing. That tells me that you got the feel of both songs. "No Apologie" is a beat driven song, and "Late-night" is a pounding, gidy-up go type of thing. I agree James that there is a lot of room for "finessing"(is that a word?) in "No Apology". I hear it, but too bad my guitar playing ability has to catch up to my "wants". Does that make sense?

As far as posting a performance of these or other songs I am working towards that. With trying to get the studio off the ground, right now I am knee deep in paper work,administration B.S. and Goverment Hoop Jumping. I am not the most computer savy person on the planet, so I need some help there. When things settle down a bit , My Wife and I will sit down and put some stuff together.

Yes I do have all kinds of recording "stuff" but no visual equipment besides a decent digital camera. Can I give you the sound somehow without the visual, somewhere? Again She's the computer wiz, not me. As a matter of fact today is her birthday so maybe we'll spend the day playing together and see what happens. We may even get the instruments out!!!!ha ha.

Talk to yu later guys, stay tuned!
