I have been using one about a week now and so far so good. Seems I can't find a brand that lasts very long.

Amy most of the time when in a group I move a little away and tune up . They are sensitive when others are pickin.

I think all of us have been in the same boat, we want to get better and sometimes the ads and the claims of quick success draw us in. I have been suckered in to several that haven't worked. Youtube is a great tool and free to find the song or type of music and lots of free instruction.

Russ,

I gotta say I think Amy, got it all wrong ,, you aint Cool, You Hot,

Like Jerry Reed said , "When You Hot, You Hot"

Nice Work Russ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Howdy,

Yup I'm Back,

Here's an original I wrote a while back and I recently changed the lyrics some and I come up with a different progression also. I used a flat pick and a J-45 into a Genz Benz Compak 300 Amp and recorded it with a Zoom Q3.

The song come about after a trip to the mailbox and all that was in there were a stack of credit card applications, and the news of the day was the housing and credit market was gonna take us all down the drain.

anyway here's a vid

Just One More smile

The Country Doctor

A young doctor had moved out to a small community to replace a doctor who was retiring. The older doctor suggested that the young one accompany him on his rounds, so the community could become used to a new doctor.
At the first house a woman complains, 'I've been a little sick to my stomach.
The older doctor says, 'Well, you've probably been overdoing the fresh fruit. Why not cut back on the amount you've been eating and see if  that does the trick?'
As they left, the younger man said, 'You didn't even examine that woman? How'd you come to the diagnosis so quickly?  'I didn't have to. You noticed I dropped my stethoscope on the floor in there? When I bent over to pick it up, I noticed a half dozen banana peels in the trash. That was what probably was making her sick.'
'Huh,' the younger doctor said. 'Pretty clever. I think I'll try that at the next house.'
Arriving at the next house, they spent several minutes talking with a younger woman. She complained that she just didn't have the energy she once did and said, 'I'm feeling terribly run down lately.'
'You've probably been doing too much work for the Church,' the younger doctor told her. 'Perhaps you should cut back a bit and see if that helps.'
As they left, the elder doctor said, 'I know that woman well. Your diagnosis is almost certainly correct, but how did you arrive at it?'
'I did what you did at the last house. I dropped my stethoscope and when I bent down to retrieve it, I noticed the preacher under the bed.'
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!

One for the Biker's smile

A tough looking group of bikers were riding when they saw a girl about to
jump off a bridge so they stop.

The leader, a big burly man, gets off his bike and says,  "What are you
doing?"

"I'm going to commit suicide," she says.

While he did not want to appear insensitive, he didn't want to miss an
opportunity he asked "Well, before you jump, why don't you give me a Kiss?"

So, she does and it was a long, deep lingering kiss.

After she's finished, the biker says, "Wow! That was the best Kiss I have
ever had. That's a real talent you are wasting. You could be famous.  Why
are you committing suicide?"

"My parents don't like me dressing up like a girl."

Heya Geo,

Yes I have been doing lots of pickin. I have been staying on location . We have a camp and have plenty of time to get some playing in. I am teaching a young fella to play and the Big Boss comes to the Rig and plays with me fairly regular. He's about my age and plays alot like me , so we have a great time and it sure beats working. We a have 3 rigs drilling in the area and there is another fella that comes over from one of the other Rigs and plays also. I am gettin him started on harmonica , don't know what the heck I am doing myself but I am trying to help anyway smile

Hello Everyone,

Sorry I haven't been contributing to the "Best Sight on the Net" lately . I have been busy with a new job and I am finally getting my feet on the ground and getting settled in and on a schedule,

Thanks to Tops , for giving me a slap up along side the head smile

I am currently working on "Your Song" by Elton John, it is a piano song and is a lot of fun to play. I have the guitar part down and working on the vocal. I am playing it in June for a wedding , so I am getting close to having in down without any sheet music. Lots of notes in this one smile

Heya Papa,

I struggled trying to use a mixer into my soundcard mic input and then using Audacity. I had so much noise in my recordings , I spent more time removing noise than anything. I struggled and tried several interfaces and returned several. I tried a Presonus Audiobox Usb interface and I was able to figure it out fairly easy and I have been happy with it. It only has two inputs but it works for me , for guitar and vocal. This little box sells for $ 149.00 with software and is a good buy.

I tried a unit packaged with Cubase and I just couldn't figure it out and got discouraged and returned it. I think an interface would help you out. Good luck , i know the feeling , kind of helpless with all the new gadjets out there smile

A couple from John Prine.

"Well I sat there at the table and I acted real naive, cause I knew that Topless Lady had something up her sleeve"  from "Spanish Pipedream"

"While digesting Readers Digest in the back of a dirty book store a plastic flag with gum on the back fell out on the Floor"   from "Flag Decal"

"I was sitting in the Bathtub countin my toes , when the radiator broke and the water all froze"   from " That's the way the World goes Round" and

Continues " I was stuck in the ice without my clothes , naked as the eyes of a Clown"

I find if I am very comfortable with the song and know it without thinking about it , I can play it anytime, anywhere. I like to have several that I can play on demand without any lyrics or music. It takes alot of practice , but get some of your favorites down and practice them over and over. I use to stick to 3 and 4 chord songs
for my go to songs so you don't have to concentrate so hard on the guitar.

Start by playing for family and friends and soon you'll be comfortable playing for others.

Jerome ,
There are alot of things that don't seem right with the NFL but I like the format and think it's for the best. I love the Colts but would hate to be in there Division, that would seem unfair also. Peyton will grow old one of these years and another team will rise to the top and the cycle goes on. The 49-ers are getting hungry again and I can see them returning to the top soon and you will have a west coast team to cheer for again smile
