that was awesome... all three of my kids came over to see what I was laughing at and soon we were all laughing our butts off!  Thank you for sharing Ark!

More prayers for the other girl and her mother of course.... as well the young man who's life was turned upside down by a bad decision on gun care.  I hope Billie is doing well... I can only imagine how that would effect me if I were in her shoes.  I do think it'd be a good idea to do what BunBun suggested.  I'm sure it could help, and certainly couldn't hurt.

not me, but thanks to the folks over in the electric section, "santa" brought my 15 year old a Digitech Multi-effects pedal.  He plugged it in, got the drum machine going, played with some settings and made up a few little riffs!  It sounded GREAT!!!!

OK... after listening non stop to Christmas music for the past several days... I can say I could listen to this song a million times and still enjoy it:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crFQpOCDfEc

Oh wow...  Chris and Billie - what a horrific birthday and pre-Christmas.  My thoughts are with you and especially with the girls' mother.  I am nearly in tears reading through this post, thinking of your own children.  I believe it was a blessing to those girls that you were home and able to come to their aid so quickly, with the experience to know what to do.  I agree with Lena, I am certain you gave that girl a peace that not just anyone else would have been able to give.  I will hug my 15 year old son today, weather he likes it or not.  May Peace be with all.

Yes Roger... the Jamplay advertisement is missing from my screen too.  I checked, and it's working just fine in IE, but not showing up in Chrome.  I think this is probably a browser issue not a coding issue.

Jeff - an absolutely huge thanks to your wife!  That is amazing that she was able to do this for a member.  I have a feeling she may have really enjoyed being able to help out too!  smile  She is a sweet lady!

However, I have seen members that have visited Japan on here... maybe you'll get lucky!

"his computer" doesn't exist, so it will be on mine anyhow.  smile  Good to know... as soon as I get a little extra time I'll get those downloaded so it will make that portion of the fun a little easier... although, I have a feeling he's just going to be happy by plugging it in and playing with it as is for a while before he bothers with the computer.  THANK YOU!  I guess this could very well be a present for me as well as the boy!

Glad you found some goodies for yourself there too!  Merry Christmas!!

The drum machine, looper, and software are enough that I very well might play around with his guitar a bit while he's in school!  LOL!  Hmmmm... might be time to get me a pick up for mother's day or some holiday coming up so I can play around with HIS new toy!  smile  Let's just hope he doesn't lose the instructions before then!

That one Martin at the store that I keep eyeballing everytime I go in there.  It's not fancy or expensive (for a Martin) but it's just right.  Maybe he could include a pickup and an acoustic amp too... but just the guitar would be fine with me.  smile

Yuppers!  I took him shopping and let him play with a few of them.  I asked if he'd rather have a new amp with effects built in, but he really wanted the pedal to play with.  We decided that the $99 digitech multieffects pedal would be sufficient, although we liked the full digital read out of the slightly more expensive one.  He thought the expression pedal was cool, but figured he didn't NEED it.  So we went home.  Then I printed out my GC coupon and went back and bought the more expensive one (RP255) that he really wanted with the expression pedal for close to the $99 price!  It's got a drum machine and looper built in and comes with recording software (cubase).  Unlike the Boss (which is clearly built to last) it also comes with the power supply.  He'll be pleasantly surprised come Christmas morning.  smile  THANKS everyone for the help!!!!

Thanks for popping in to see us Bushy!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!!!

Youtube works pretty well.  There's a chance that your song could be taken down, but it's fairly slim... especially if you put something in there about how it's for educational purposes and provide some type of education (like the chords used in the song).  smile

I think Gloria Gaynor is a bit out of my vocal range.  I'd be eager to hear Mekidsmom take a whack at it, though.

- Zurf

I can absolutely sing it, however I cannot play it.  Well, I'm sure I could with a WHOLE lot of practice maybe someday.  At the moment however, I'm still pretty stuck on just the basic chords I know.  I haven't been playing much at all to be quite honest.  Go ahead and play and record and send it over to me and I'll sing and upload!  collaboration!!!

You've got to watch out for that Roger, he's sneeky!  LOL!  A nice present from Zurf to Roger... and Roger to Zurf and us all.  Nice job Zurf... I believe that hand had been played against my Croce recording at one point.  It's about time everyone else heard a little bit more of your music.  You really do play quite well.  For more Zurf music, you can visit my youtube page and play the July River Jam recording.  One of Zurf's is on there about Dead Skunks (it's catchy, I warn you if you listen you'll be singing about dead skunks all day long!).

welcome to the forums Barry!  You will be more likely to get help if you do a little work for the one helping you, by perhaps providing a link to the youtube video in question.  smile

Sounds like it will be epic indeed!  Enjoy the time with your family... there's nothing better than it, unless you add in a few guitars and other random music and puppetry!  smile
