chorus
[c]old cowboy joe,[f]wileing away the hours,
[c]sitting in his rocking chair,
[g]on his front porch,
[c]old cowboy joe,[f]does'nt have a care,
[c]done all his fighting,[g] in his younger [c]days.

1/[c]now old cowboy joe,
was[f] born in the old days,                                                     when[c] settlers were coming,
from[g] any old whe-re,
his [c]parents built a house,and[f] with a few cows,
hens in the coup, and living off the land.
                      chorus

2/[c]when old joe was born,[f]times were hard,
you [c]had to grow up,at an[g][c] early age,
you fought for what you could get,                                       and[f] fought to keep what you've got,
and[c] old joe can remember ,when his[g] pa got[c] shot.
                      chorus

3/[c]he had to do[f] all the chores,
[c]milking the cows,[g]feeding the hens,
and [c]working the la-nd,
till his pa was back[f] on his feet,
he[c] worked day and night,
[g]till he fell asl-[c]eep.
            chorus

4/[c]now old cowboy joe,[f]joined the army,
[c]fighting for his country,[g]and to stay alive,
he[c] served his time, then[f] moseyed on home,
his[c] parents were old now,[g]all those years[c] alone,
[c]he finally got married,[f]to a girl in town,
[c]had a son to[g] carry on his [c]name.
               chorus.

[c]trying to pack up the[f] dreaded weed,
[c]don't know how,[g]if i'll succeed,
[c]wound up like a corkscrew[f] every day,
[c]temptations there,will[g]power i[c]need.

[c]another day,[f]dragging a fag,
[c]got to keep busy, take my[g]mind off the pack,
[c]i've cut down to[f]what i had,
but[c]going the final mile,[g]is going to be[c]bad.

[c]i know there's patches and[f] things out there,
but[c]willpower is the[g]key to getting you clean,
the[c]anguish and torment to[f]suffer in-between,
i'm[c]thinking of the money i'll[g] save in the[c] end.

4thfret  3rdfret 2ndfret  1stfret
[g#]mini[g]mini[f#]mini[f]mini
[g#]mini[g]mini[f#]mini[f]mini

[c]this is a game you[f] play in your car,
[c]if you spot a mini you[g] get a clout,
[c]then you say mini[f]no return,
so you[c]ca'nt [g]get them[c] back.

mini mini mini mini
mini mini mini mini

[c]its bad news [f]in the front,                                               [c]if there's someone [g]in the back,
'cause[c]you get clonked twice,'cause you [f]can't reach back,
its[c]all in the fun, but[g]keep your eyes on[c] the road,
it[f] keeps you alert as[c] you [g]a[c]long.

mini mini mini mini
mini mini mini mini

[c]sometimes you go home [f]worse for wear,
[c]nowadays there's mini's [g]every-where,
ha[c]got you that time,i[f] spotted it first,
its a [c]game of observation and it[g] keeps you[c] amused.

mini mini mini mini
mini mini mini mini.

[c]you're going out tonight,
with your[f]velvet jacket o-n,
your[g]drain-pipe trousers,
[c]your winkle pickers too,
you sure do look swell,
with[f]your neck tie as well,
[g]going to the dance,[c]with your baby doll.

[c]you pick up ypur gal,in your [f]blue con-vert-able,
she's[g]wearing her ra ra skirt, and[c]high heels as well,
[c]you bo-th loo-k so sma-rt,
while[f]your driving behind the wheel,
you[g]park up at the dance,
you'll be[c]jive-in' all night.

[c]the band is playing your favourite[f]rock n roll song,
you[g]start be boppin',[c]jivin' around the floor,
everyone joins in,you're[f]really havin' a ball,
[g]swingin' to the rock n roll beat,
shimmy[c]shuffle rockin' with me,
[c]we're at the local dance,
so[g]get into the beat with[c]me-e.

[c]at the end of the night,i'll [f]hold you in my arms,
when you[g]do the last dance with me-e,
[c]and now the night is over,                                             we've [f]really had a good time,
i'll [g]drive you back home,                                                 then[c] we'll ki--ss good-night,
to-[g]morrows a brand new day,
at the [f]local dance,we'll be[g] dancin' the night a-[c]way,
at the[f] local dance we'll be[g] dancin' the night a-[c]wa-y.
