Yeah, but how is it on nose hair, 'Tails?

Just kidding, but dayum, dood! Looks like you hit the jackpot with this purchase!!!  I don't know what the last sentence in your post means, but if you're happy, then I'm happy! smile

I have "Watch 'Tails' YT gadget review" on my to do list, buddy, so yeah -- whatever mkm said, I'm there!!!! smile

Happy NED!

Bill

Due to my being bat-s**t, I often forget that I may have done or said something before, (The bookstores love me because of this! wink  ) so if this is the case with this post, please excuse me.

Having been involved even in a small way with your songwriting and other musical talents, I've been thinking about us launching our own "Grammy" awards.

I would be willing to assist in any way I can on putting this together and just a rough draft would be the "active" membership votong. "Active" meaning x amount of posts per year.

Award criteria/prizes would be set by a committee of mods/admins and perhaps the site owner.

****The more I write, the more I think that something like this has been proposed before and may even be "in the works". I second-guess myself a lot these days.****

What does the forum/mods/admin think? We have some super-talented Song/Wordsmiths on Chordie and I think it would be a kick to recognize the "best of the best".

Our friend Mo': The guy who disappears for a while and then comes bustin' in with wonderfully written tunes. I keep seeing someone like Springsteen holding you at gunpoint and screaming, "WRITE, DAMMIT!!!". big_smile

So far I'be just read the lyrics which are  AWESOME. Later this evening, after tucking the "Little Woman" (she hates when I call her that too. The other nickname is "Madondra". wink ) in, I plan to sit right here, catch up on all the performances I missed and have a relaxing evening listening to my "Songsmith Friends" perform. smile

Thanks, Mojo and ALL of you writers/singers for inspiring the rest of us!

ETA: Is the title "Hollie's Song" or a song meant to remind us of the group The Hollies, Mo'? It reads like the former is the case. ----- OCD Bill

I like the changes, my friend! I love songwriters who can pull their words from deep in their heart and soul, and you definitely are one of those people, James Kenyon.

Bill

PS: Unless one or more of our musical family has any suggestions, or unless you, the composer makes any changes, I think you nailed it, TIG! smile

I just reread this ^ post just before composing an answer to easybeat's reply. Starting with the word "it", this thing sounds gross as hell! smile

Jim, see my suggestions. They are very minor and are about grammar more than anything else. My thoughts are a little jumbled right now (need my meds, big_smile ), but I wonder if you might want to change "....like the warm night air"?. My point (and feel free to argue it, my friends) is that I don't think of warm night air as "ripping". What do you think, TIG and folks?

As you can tell, I don't want to mess with the text too much, as I think it's totally poignant and appropriate. I just want to make suggestions, give my reasons and leave it to you.

I'll work on this some more later tonight.

Thanks, TIG! smile

That chorus is nailed, my friend. I wouldn't change a thing myself. smile

So am I (in the queue), Roger. I do have a question of the forum about this, however: Dondra's and my machines are linked via ethernet.

The agreement about W10 states "one device". Can we both have W10?

Thanks

....... commercial, which ends: "Cooper Tires. They're virtually unstoppable."

Excuse me? And why would I want to buy these things?

Roger

I have wanted to help more than I have been able to, but so far all I've been able to do is suggest corrections for semantics/grammar, etc.

However, I just told TIG I would help him with the chorus of his song about Cecil, which I love.

I really like writing about "topical" things, Roger.

Thanks

"The king of beasts meets the king of teeth" ----- Damn! What a line! This is great and I can see this as something Johnny Cash might have done. In fact, I'm sure of it. Great work, TIG!

That's the Rogue Beatle Bass, bluejeep and as far as I know they're no longer being made. Take a look on eBay if you want one. Mine cost $298.00 from Musician's Friend. Comapred to the Höfner model at $1600.00.

I can't play bass as well as I'd like, so what do I want with a Höfner? smile

Bill

PS: If you'll look closely at the Jasmine, you'll see a piece of paper sticking up on the body near the neck. It contains the chords and words to "Happy Birthday" (the original, not the one I wrote) which I sing for Dondra every year. smile

Wellllll smile...... I was thinking maybe something like "The Ballad of Cecil" or something similar. Something with a "message"...... :0

I'm reposting this one last time just in case someone didn't see it and because we don't want to leave anyone out and then, since all is well for the time being, let's say "goodbye" to this thread.... smile

Dear Chordie Family

I'm just finished reviewing all the "Songs For Dondra" posts to see if I've forgotten to thank anyone. I don't want to leave anyone out, but because of my CRS, I'm afraid I may have. sad

If this is the case and you're still speaking to me...... smile........ please tell me, okay? We're not normally "worry-warts", but your responses to her while she was laid up in the hospital, were very nice and caring and if that happened we want to make sure to correct it.

One thing: If I didn't post a "thank you" here, you may have one on YouTube, Soundcloud or Dropbox.

If all is well, then we thank you once again.

Nope. Not yet (5:27 pm)

Those aren't scratches on the bass, Zurf. That thing is immaculate. I don't know where those came from.

Hey, Dino and 'Tails,

Think Jx3 might need an "intervention"? wink

I can just see it now ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (dream sequence)~~~~~~~~~~~~

Dr. Phil: "I understand you have gas. Have you tried maybe 'holding it in'? How'd that work for ya?"

etc. etc. etc. smile

All in good fun. jjj. I think we're all just jealous about the deal you found on that pretty guitar, my friend!  smile

Bill

PS: My girls. "Anita" apologizes for all the smudges. I was supposed to have polished her before the pic. All 3 (including the Galveston accoustic/electric bass - not seen) cost me less than $300.00 and they play and look just fine. I am sure it will be that way with your new one too, joeyjoeyjoey.

Um, I mentioned this before, but no one ever answered yea or nay.

Since we can't be there, could we both maybe give y'all a short call during your get together just to wish you guys and ladies a good time? wink

Just a comment on the lyric "1 chord just didn't impress".....

Wasn't it Richie Havens who only played only one chord when he sang?

Used the guitar mainly for a rhythm instrument?

I think I read that in Accoustic Guitar at one time or another.

And oh yeah, I agree: A Talkin' Blues would sound great, and Dino: Great idea, buddy! smile

Wow! That youngun has definitely found his voice, hasn't he, Amy. I left a note on the song, but forgot to add that I'd like to hear your version of it.

Thanks!

The e-mails telling me that there's an answer to one of my posts within a thread aren't landing in my SPAM folder either, BGD.

I looked and all that's there are just the normal spam mails on how to make my peenie longer. smile

So let's see if this one goes where it's supposed to.

Okay. I'll check Spam. I'm going to write a test message and subscribe to it so we can see what happens.

Thanks and I am using Yahoo.
