A no questions return policy sure is appealing.  I bought my husband and son's electric guitars online and both were quite pleased.  It was a different site that came highly recommended by several other chordians.  They too had a no questions asked return policy.  I suggest emailing or calling the place and see how you FEEL about their customer service.  Talk with them about your valid concerns about buying online, and the return policy.  Then go with your gut!  Good luck!

When I was a kid, my Dad attempted to show me some chords several times.  Likely, it was on his 1950's Fender acoustic, but nothing ever clicked.  I joined Chordie on day ONE of my learning.  I learned for a few weeks on my husband's Wal-Mart Yamaha... then MY first guitar was an Ibanez Classical.  It's only been a few years, so it's still here, although I hardly ever pick it up anymore.  My daughter thinks she might want to play, so I let her mess around with it and occassionally attempt to show her a chord or two.

I love you Toots, and everything you do for members!  I do have to agree with Per, but it sure would be nice if it was ok on a regular basis.  I'm glad he ok'd it for this one time... smile

very nicely written Jeff, and having heard your style before... I can imagine what this sounds like too!  You have a way with words!

That's awesome!  I like the band name, and I think it's pretty cool that a new member won the funny money!  smile

if you pay for a domain name with godaddy, they give you some "free" webhosting with it - free with ads of course, but none the less... you're looking at less than $20 for a year.  Of course, whomever your ISP is... they usually give you some free hosting as well!  If you're talking about just staying in touch, you could always make a free facebook page for your group.

We'll all forgive you this time Phill!  wink  Just don't be surprised if you're missing a pickle in your jar next year!

Well... right now you can go into stores and buy Christmas pattern fleece throws for less than $5... so it would be very cheap to make one!  LOL!  Although the guitar would be dressed for Christmas year round.  ha ha!  Perhaps I will give it a try and give it to the hubster for a Christmas present next year!  wink

Not sure which mod removed the link - here's one to their youtube video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2PFzaDk … r_embedded

So... I'm curious Z, how much did you pay for this?  It does look super easy to make (and I can sew).  However, I like to see my guitars hanging on the wall, and they're cheap, and I don't love them that much.  Now... if I had an expensive guitar, I would absolutely consider something like this!!!  Simple, neat idea!

very cool about the hotspot and getting service in the sticks!

The hubster and I got new phones right before Christmas, both are 4G... we only get 3G coverage here at home, but just about everywhere we go that's a "major" area (even the little small cities nearby) have 4G coverage.  I like it... and I pretty much just use my wifi at home so I don't need 4G here.

A couple beautiful young gals... and Roger playing backup!  smile  They both have wonderful voices, I think you've done quite well to get Filipa out of her shell Roger.  She's got a little further to go though, I can hear in her voice that there's still a lot there more if she lets go.  Keep at it!!  Beautiful girl, beautiful voice!!  She's really going to blossom like you won't believe at some point!

Additional thanks!  Nothing too special, Dad stopped by with a card and money... my son made fundamiddles (cupcakes with filling... try them if you see them at the grocery store.  VERY GOOD MIX)... and the hubster grabbed a pizza from the best pizza place around.  A few drinks and happy ending made for a perfect birthday.  wink  Of course my mom and mother in law stopped over the next night with another card with money, more cake, and presents.  All in all it was a nice b.day.

I don't know about prettiest in my thirties though... I think I've gained a few wrinkles just this past year!  LOL!  Thanks again all!!!

How nice to be able to put a big smile on your sisters face... especially when it doesn't cost much.  The thought clearly means far more to her than you even imagined.  GREAT!

we've got a really neat chess set here that my husband bought for his father many years ago in Mexico.  I'll have to open it up and take a pic one day and show ya Russell.  It's quite beautiful and very ornate.  I don't think it's actually been played with in a LONG TIME... if much at all.

awe.... Thanks guys!  I officially hit mid thirties the other day... and interestingly, it was the first year that I said, "really it's just another day".  I do still like to get the happy messages though.  Thanks again!

It's not the mods that make this place special - it's the members. And I agree, there couldn't be a friendlier bunch.

I'll second that!
Chordie is absolutely like a family.  Just go ahead and get your butt out to a get together in person and you'll experience the same awesome friendliness in person that you experience here on the site.  A very fine group of people!!

My birthday was the 30th... so we had our drinks then... last night, we all passed out before midnight and said a nice little new years welcome this morning with a full nights rest.  LOL!  Today... maybe a little guitar and some more sweatpants for me!  smile  Happy New Year everyone!

I like what you did Pix... I was going to say that was my choice, to leave the alum "highlights".  LOOKS GOOD!

Very impressive.

I'm going to have to say it's a 5% for us.  School is still in session around here at that time so getting away is near to impossible, plus Jim usually has some type of tattoo show to do in June.  So it's pretty much a no, but because I really really really want to come, I am saying there's a 5% chance things could change and we'd make it.  For anyone that thinks they can go... DO IT!
