The England coach Eddie Jones spouts garbage in the media all the time.I love it when his teams get beaten. Of course I like the Welsh coach Warren Gatland because he is a good kiwi. Gatland has also done a great job as head coach with the British and Irish Lions on their tours. You Welsh are one of our favourite Rugby brothers. Later on today Easybeat and I will have a pint in your honour. Yechyd da...Kia ora to you my good friend

Phill you are a man who deserves plenty of pickles. You are one of the outstanding members of this site. I was thinking a more approriate currency is Pints of Ale. I wonder how many pickles there are to a pint. Yesterday on Saint Paddys day in suport of the Irish we had alot of pints drunk turning many into happy pickled people. Some of my Welsh friends would like to make every day a time to have a pint for Saint David. I always find that no matter how cold life gets a warm pub makes a differance. Summer here so we head to the bar to avoid UV rays and stay cool. Cheers, Yechid dah , Bulla Vinaka, Kia Ora, Good Health to you.

Excellent portrait Bill. I love Ludwig van Beethoven music my Maree has a small copy of a painting of him as boy hanging on our wall. The last decade of his life he was almost completely deaf Though deaf some of his.most admired works come from the last years of his life. Now if I could get a thousand Deaf Beethoven's in a room to listen to my music there would be hope for me. Most probably they would need a conductor or someone using sign language on stage to tell them when to clap. I wouldn't produce a music chart for my thousand Beethoven's as it might ruin my chance of success.

Great song chord progression looks good and sounds good in my head. In the lyrics where there is an , and such as ... and he drove into the Sun. or and she drove into the Sun.the word and, to me could be changed to some other word. Apart from that to me it is a great piece of song writing. Possibly ... Then he realized that his day wasn’t done….as he drove into the Sun.

Sometimes I think the harmony and music that talks to me, and pulls at my heart, those tunes of my youth are some sort of prehistoric monster waiting to be discovered by an Archaeologist.

Dirty Ed thank you for introducing me to Wallace McRae. I loved the way he did Reincarnation on that link. I have just looked up Baxter Black on youtube another new one for me and have enjoyed watching him also. Here is a one that i have just seen of Baxter Black which I enjoyed. DE you have expanded my horizons on poetry as down here in little old NZ we don't get to hear many cowboy poems.

Greetings Folks this is a youtube video of John Wells reciting his poem about living in a Texas Desert. He is the sort of person I would love to sit around a camp fire with and also all the good people from Chordie Land. The Long Horn cows he has with him on this clip look like the sort of beautiful creatures that no one would mess with.

Zurf I would love to share a campfire with you and also all of you above and many others on Chordie.
I love the way all you good people on chordie approach the craftsmanship of music. Many of you pushing on with determination to be 'master of the bricks and mortar that make good songs. You all have something very special and it is an honour to know all you good folk.. Back to the subject of dressing up for a concert the main thing to wear is your self respect. One of my favourite songs about ways of dressing is the Man In Black by Johnny Cash

Sorry Jandle if we can't respect our family members on this thread as a way of honouring you and those who like you who have put a good commitment to our older generation what can we do. You have upsept me deeply.I was only honouring the good deeds of folk on here. I am very passionate about supporting older people in our families and when people mention they have that going on on their with own families I will respond. You can not marginalize old people just because they are old they are our history and from them we learn our futiure.
No song is worth more than our perants.

Deadeye you have got a good voice I would love to hear more songs that you have written. I have got a mate who writes lots of songs and every now and then he writes a good one but sadly he never puts them out there for others to hear. I think you might have some original gems waiting to be put out on soundcloud. Songwriters sometimes let their lack of confidence hold back good songs that could be of interests to others..

Re: FEBRUARY 2018 FSOTM - CITIES AND COUNTRIES (57 replies, posted in Featured Song of the Month)
Zurf said I guess what I'm saying is that what some elder care agencies see as abuse and neglect, some elderly and their families see as independence and liberty. The world could do with a lot more patience and a lot less making decisions for others without knowing a darned thing about them.
Zurf you are absolutly right what you said there. I have a lot of elderly friends many over the age of eighty who belong to a group called Grey Power who battle bureaucrats and politicians advocating for the independence and respect older people deserve. Grey Power is an advocacy organisation promoting the welfare and well-being of all those citizens in the 50 plus age group. They monitor what the government is doing and how that will affect their members – meeting with influential people including politicians, to make their views known.
Grey Power is dedicated to the welfare, interests and concerns of the many people who are over 50 years and is a neutral but assertive voice of influence in the political arena with no party political affiliation.
I spend alot of time with my ninety seven year old mother the thing I hear often from her friends is they feel their family have no time for them. I was a member of the RSA for many years the Return Services Association. I would visit many who ended up in hospital. I was struck by how many families couldnt find the time to suport their own family members and that shocked me. When some of these people died their families were quick to get to the lawyers and fight over the will. I went to funeral a couple of weeks back for a friend of mine who was single and whose only brother and neice and nephew turned up at the service. I was approached to help with arranging the funeral as none of his family werent interested. With a couple of his other friends a service was arranged that we thought would be appropriate . His family approached me after the service. They told me they hadn't seen the deceased for twenty nine years and only came to see if any of his friends knew if he had left them anything in a will. It hit home to me again not all families spend time or care for each other and it is not always anyones fault. It is just how some family circumstances turn out. Also I have seen the otherside organisation putting the elderly where they don't want to be or their families want them to be without any consideration for the person's own wishes.. In other words getting involved when there is not the need. I got very sick last year and I am still recovering. If it wasn't for my friends and family I would have ended up having some of my independence and liberty taken away from me. You are perfectly right to think the way you do about these things with your experience in this area. of life. I hope there are many more who are having a good discussion about these things.

Welcome 6thelements. I don't know much about backing vocalist. I know that Glenn Cambell and Leon Russell as part of the Wreaking Crew played on many a hit track.
I think James Taylor might have done a bit of backing vocals for Carol King on some of her songs.
