Okay -  I changed the key to G -made a couple of lyric changes, added a chord in last line of verses

I think it is close to where I want it to be now.

This may a dumb question then ----
why would any one pay $2500 for a Gibson Les Paul  Goldtop  when the could buy a much less expensive guitar and just buy a couple of P90's, new strings,  and switch them out for the cheap ones ?

I think that was why I was struggling a bit with the chords  - and omg - I admire all of you people on chordie that can play and sing at the same time - that is sooooo hard for me.

Ihad one that I bought at an auction for 85$

Gave it to my niece who was just beginning and needed a guitar for lessons.
I didn't like it bc   the  action of the strings - strings sit high

I too liked the children in the background - it made the song feel quite "Christmasy"
