As a woman with kids, I also have to add... your first labor and delivery - and the pain associated with it that no one can really warn you enough for!  LOL!

The hubster is in a lotto pool at work.  There is a GINORMOUS number of tickets purchased.  If they all win, Z will be happy because there's a ton of people in the lotto pool.  I imagine, we'd get rid of this house, get the hubster his Gibson, and head as far South as it's safe to travel.  wink

Yes Jim, I am VERY SPOILED!  big_smile

Pete - I really did NOT realize that we had so many guitars around here.  I will admit, other than the Martin they are all under $300 each, but still.  Mind you, I don't usually play his guitars and he generally doesn't play mine.   Oh, and since I got my Martin my husband is now GASSING for a Gibson.  At some point, we will have to remove some guitars from our bedroom before there's no place for us to sleep.  My three all have a purpose (a classical, a beater, and a Martin) and so do his, (an electric, a beater, and a Fender).  I see how difficult it can be to get RID of guitars now though.

Oh...  Say "Whoot Hoot" out loud.  It's just a hoop and a holler.  smile

Speaking of GAS... I realized as I was moving my bedroom around... I now own 3 guitars, and my husband owns 3 guitars.  That's not counting my son's, just what's in MY room.  There are SIX guitars living in my bedroom.  Um, it seems a bit much but I am not about to give any of MINE UP!  LOL!

Yup, New Guitar Day... it took me a little bit upon joining to catch up too.  That, and GAS... I actually just taught my hubby what that meant a couple weeks ago.  He was amused by my using it in a sentence.  wink

Zurf, my dad doesn't care too much for Georgia either... but that's a matter of politics and unions.

Best wishes to your daughter for certain DJ. Has she checked into Fredonia's School of Music at all?  I never did a lot of research into music schools, because my parents insisted I be a Doctor (and while I was ready to go into veterinary school, I decided to be stupid and get married instead, that was hubster #1)... but Fredonia here in NY, was a very saught after school by many of my friends who were actually planning on doing THEIR thing and not listening to their parents.  wink

ready to skype... if anyone's interested... hop on now.

SURE!

I've been sick and totally out of it for a few days now, but am feeling a hair better.  Still have a wicked cough and stuffy nose, so I'm not sure how much I'll be singing, but I will gladly host and hang out and let you all drool over my new guitar while I hug it.  wink

7PM EST?  Or does anyone want to make it a little earlier?  I can probably do as early as 4PM if there's enough folks interested in an earlier time.

I'll assume the spam msg was removed and now it just looks like Auxi is calling herself out as a spammer.  ha ha ha ha!  NO, do not ban her!

Thanks DE!

The fever is finally wearing off... I think I might actually have some time to get the guitar out today since I don't feel like sleeping constantly.

Jim is doing pretty well considering.  His father passed away in 94.  He and his sister are obviously very worried about their mom and everyone is doing everything possible to help take care of her.  She has a lot of therapy and doctor's appointments ahead of her

COOL story Toots!

I am scared of snakes, even garden snakes.  Once, a one foot long garden snake about as wide around as a pencil reared up at me by my drivers side door of my car.  YES, like the girl I am I went around to the passenger side to get in (and then I ran the snake over and killed it).  LOL!

Mike - the 000-15M is pure acoustic.  I don't have enough use yet to get a guitar with electronics... and I don't think I know enough about electronics to buy one.  Maybe someday I'll put a pick up in it, but for now a mic will suffice if I need to amplify it for any reason.

Honestly, my Mother in law had a stroke this week, and now I have a fever and have been so darn sick I haven't had a lot of time to play it.  As soon as I'm feeling better I'll do a recording with my Zoom and upload it to youtube.  I'm sure that sound will be much better than what some of you heard on skype.  It's quite heavenly.

DJ - yes, the blingless appearance actually makes me like it that much more.  My husband and I were actually commenting on that... and wondering, those guitars that are LOADED with pearl, is their sound sacrificed in the end?  Seems it might be... possibly.

Ok well, I think I'm going to skip today.  After all this stuff with my mother in law, I've managed to run myself into the ground and now have a horrible cold and fever.  I guess this is probably the flu.  I don't know.  BUT... I'm going to try to rest as much as possible today.  Let's shoot for Thursday this week.  I'm open to suggestions on a starting time!

Rattlesnake rattles.... if you get one and send it to me, I'll put it in my guitar!  I like the good luck idea behind it.

Yes, well it's spring here now and no more heater running so we've absolutely got enough humidity.  But I do plan on getting something as the weather changes again here soon.  I even noticed my Laminate Epi seemed to get a bit off this winter, and I suspect it was a humidity issue.  I certianly don't want anything happening to my beautiful Martin.  It feels weird to keep it in a case and not hanging on the wall... but the guys at the shop said it would be better for the guitar/humidity/etc to keep it in there rather than hanging on the wall.  I guess we'll just keep the cheap ones out.  Never fear though, the guitar case isn't in a close or anything... it's always close by!!!!

That's right... Martin's can't just sit there unplayed.  They need to get out and get fresh air just like the rest of us!  Glad to hear your bro wasn't upset.  smile

Alright... I have a program, and tested to see if I could record something off youtube and it worked.  I will probably have to make many small recordings, and edit settings to include my own portion of the jam before doing my own recording, but then I can meld all the little recordings together and throw them up on youtube.  Sounds like a fun little project to work on WHILE hosting the skype.  So... I guess we just need to figure out WHEN we're all going to get tog again.  Any suggestions anyone?  I'm pretty sure I can do next Thrusday (have plans next friday night)... maybe can do a little bit tomorrow if anyone's game, but I do have to work tomorrow night.  Starting next Saturday I'll be working every night for 19 days straight... so we'll have to plan for this week and coming week, and then perhaps BGD or another with a premium can host another.  Let me know what everyone thinks!  smile

edit to add 19 to my days of straight working

Toots, I was looking forward to the Jam long before my MIL actually went into the hospital - it was ONE relief of my day.  I'm just sorry I was a little late getting home.  Frankly, if I hadn't stopped for WINE on my way I probably would have gotten to the Jam on time.  But I NEEDED it!  Thanks to all of you for being patient with me!

You know, I can take screen shots, so there MUST be a way to take video screen shots.  I'm going to check into that today and see what I can find out for the next time!!!

Ya know guys, I've heard of people getting ham radio interference with their cable television service - yup, ham radio going right through their TV.  Those people are never happy, but I don't think there's much you can do about it except to - like everyone else has said - limit the length of wires that may be acting as antennas.  There's so many FCC regulations and notices on allllll electronic equipment stating that they are within regulation and fine print about possible intereference that I don't think there's much you can even do legally to prevent such issues.  Like JX3 said though, maybe God's trying to tell you something!  ha ha!

I would absolutely try plugging into a different outlet and wrapping the chord up so it's not stretched out, and try being as close to the outlet as possible and see if that makes a difference.  Radio waves are often hindered by metal doors and mirrors too... so perhaps there's a little decoration you could put up to help the issue out!  smile  Just some thoughts!

It's alright Joe!  It was nice to see you pop on for a minute and the Trout was looking so pretty; it was a pleasure to see the Daddy so proud of his little girl!  I'm all for that!  At some point you'll make it in, I know about life being hectic.  I wish I had more time to skype myself (or travel to meet up with folks even!).

FYI, everyone in my contact list gets a call every time we do a jam... even if you're not online.  You don't have to accept it and are welcome to ignore it if you do happen to be online but are too busy.  It's just the easiest way for me to make the call - because then that way if someone DOES happen to show up, they've already got the invite and can just join in without having to send me a msg to add them.

WELCOME TO CHORDIE Paul!

As you can see, we were all very impressed by your post on craigslist.  We're happy you decided to join us here.  Please, take some time and wander around the forums.  Also check out the songs that are available... chordie works more like a search engine grabbing the songs hosted on other sites and putting them into an easier to read/find format.  Check the "Chat Corner" http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewforum.php?id=16 every now and then to find out about the Skype Jams.  They really are much more like picker circles than jams though.  With Skype, we can really only hear one person at a time... but if you wanted to play along with another you could completely mute your mic and go for it, for the fun aspect of playing along.  In order to join the Skype gathering, you just need to make sure you download the most recent version of Skype for free (at least 5.0), have a free skype account, have a webcam and mic and speakers, and then add me in (I'm mekidsmom there as well as here).  I say ME because I have a premium account and at least ONE person has to have one of those on Skype in order for the group video call to work.  I believe BGD also has one, and perhaps another member but I'm not sure yet.  No one else... so far... has said they do.  I haven't figured out my personal schedule yet and planned another skype call as of yet, but I will be soon so keep your eye on the chat corner.  We just had a call last night and it was pretty fun.  Now mind you... on a scale of 1-10 I think I'm about a 2 or 3 as far as playing goes, but I can sing alright.  Some others are probably closer to an 8 but their voices may not be wonderful.  We're a group of folks who encourage one another with what they've got!  I do hope you can join us!!!!

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles Roger, but I am glad you were able to make it for a bit.  Paul, we'll have to figure out your camera issue as well.  Perhaps try skyping one on one with someone and see if it works then.  I wonder if it's the group chat itself (although I doubt it since Roger is in a filed using an air card.  Your connection MUST be better than his).

As always, I thank you for the compliments... I just hope to get better with the guitar so it's not just my voice.  wink  Joe gave Alex (mekidsmom_son) a couple pointers, if he follows them, he's going to be surpassing me realllll soon with his playing!  In some ways, he already does.  (what's a scale?  LOL).

It was a NICE evening and I needed it after the very long day (and last few days) I had worrying about my mother in law.  Toots always has the best funny songs, although Joe got pretty close with his green dog... I think.  wink  The hubster was doing a tattoo but insisted I stay in the room so he could hear everyone and took some breaks while I was playing.  Jeff ended up joining Joe and I after I mowed down my pizza ON camera.

By the way, my Mother In Law is now home from the hospital.  We're all a bit shook up and it seems the stroke was worse than originally thought, but without a regular doctor to oversee her, the hospital doctors just seemed interested in making room for another patient.  We're all hoping we can talk her into going to the specialists in Syracuse instead of Utica, but I'm not sure how that's going to go.  She seems quite scared of "the big city".  I'll be pretty busy checking in on her as I'm the one home during the days... but she's only a mile up the road.  So, keep her in your thoughts for a full recovery and no other issues.  I'm not quite ready to take over any family matriarch roles just yet.  This is one strong woman that needs to get back to who she is!!

Sharonli - welcome to Chordie!  The best place to post a request for chords to a song is in the "song requests" section found here:  http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewforum.php?id=11  click on "Post New Topic" and put the song title in the subject and then any info you have on the song in the message.  If you've already searched chordie and the internet and are looking for someone to write out the chords for you, a link to the song playing on youtube or some such is also helpful.  Please note, copyright lyrics cannot be posted in the forum so you'll only get a brief synopsis of the song/chords... so if you need it all written out for you make sure you mention that you'd like it emailed if possible (and make sure your email address in your profile is good).  smile

Trying to get a good job on "Lover Lover" by Jerrod Niemann.
I plan to use my Helicon Vocal Harmonizer to get 3-part harmony.
I think I found a simple guitar line that has high energy and won't step on the vocal too much.
I stumbled through it twice. It may clean up before I kick the bucket.

Gonna write that sucker down from G to E.

Toots... I LOVE this song!  My girls like to sing it too.  I think they mostly like that the chorus is easy to remember wink  If you do write it down, send me the chords, but only if they're easy.  ha ha!

big_smile  I'm in love with it Wayne!  I didn't get it until yesterday however, and haven't yet had a lot of time to play it.  Wed night I sent my husband to check on his mother instead of getting the guitar.  Turns out it was a good choice as she was in the midst of having a mild stroke.  My SON was the one that alerted us all to her seemingly odd behavior and looks.  He is a hero at ALMOST 16!  I'm so proud of him!  Anyhow, I have been a bit busy going back and forth to the hospital to check on her.  I am sooooo looking forward to a little down time with everyone and my guitar this evening!!!!!!!!!!
