Okay, you read Michael's response to me, so now here's my response to him. He's a great guy, so let's please not diss him because he doesn't have the time to do a good enough job of producing our cd for us, okay, please?

===============================================================

Hi Michael

Of course you're busy and I thank you for even reading our request.

The guys and ladies on Chordie, as I stated, are awed at your list of accomplishments and I'm strutting around like Barney Fife hitching up his trousers because we know each other. *:) happy

I certainly will let you know how things go and will send/link you to the finished product. I think I might even be able to find a production company around here that would work with us.

I am proud to still be able to do this.

What was it the Doo-Dah man said? "Better Living Through Chemistry"? Yeah my patches (Aricept) help and so do a few other drugs.

All the best always to you and yours,

Bill

==================================================

So now you know how far I've come to prepare our CD, and I am not stopping here.

Your friend

Peter, my friend; No one who plays and sings as nicely as you do needs to talk about age.

People like you are "timeless".

Ya "knucklehead"! big_smile : D big_smile

ANOTHER one that needs an edit:

BGD?

A little fast notice, my friend?

Still I bet folks who live close by would join you!

Let us know!!! And could you do a live YouTube stream for us?

Thanks

Bill

EDITED TO ADD: I see you posted this earlier. Please excuse an old man's idiocy and good luck, my friend!

Here we go......

Shedding some tears here, no coughs, no choking up, just real tears.

God take this man and seat him at your side.

I hope he gets the funeral he wants, Zurf.

I have the feeling it won't be as Bruce Wayne, and that is just fine with me.

Amazing what he's done for children and fans.

I plan on looking for some videos.

I wouldn't let the "Sisters" (named for my mother and aunts) out of my sight, kir, so I guess that makes me.....jealous?

And don't get "cute" either, ya big Jokers!!! big_smile big_smile

I mean someone the caliber of Neil Young, David Gilmour, Bob Dylan?

Well, maybe not Bob. He's likely to get ticked off at my review of his recent record here. big_smile big_smile big_smile )

But seriously: Anyone of their caliber ever visit, hang out or lurk here?

And you guys and ladies are ALL superstars to this Ol' "German Boy".

ROFLMB off!

Some of you guys have just the right imaginations to be songwriters! You can see the "abstract" as well as the "concrete"! Not al of us can do that!

As to making you a swinger, did you have said guitar's permission? smile smile

Bravo and Bravissimo!

O, Head Pickle Rhymer!

I do beg your most humble pardon, but as you were proclaimed that title in the not too distant past. I come to you -  prostate on the floor -  and make my request that you, in your eminent pickleditiy allow us to adopt the word "musicate" if and when we wish.

Bill picks his prostate off the floor and slides backward out of the Head Pickle Rhymer's site to avoid the baleful glare one of the Rhymer's many eyes. wink

Bill

PS: I know that word is spelled prostrate, but I just couldn't resist. smile

I LOVE this one! Got that Cmag7 in there. Can I transpose it out of there for guitar if I find the changes too difficult?

Great tune!

That's just a pic I found on the net, not Bertie. He's gotten used to dad's noise making and just gets under the bed if he sees me going into the music room or headed for the vacuum cleaner. smile

Because I'm still working on it as if we are.

As promised, I contacted my former drumming friend Michael Huey, who is now a music publisher in addition to his producing career to help us, but unfortunately, he's so busy he's afraid he won't be able to help us enough to do a good job for us.........

In case you missed it earlier, here is the WiKi page of Michael Huey, drummer/producer and all around nice guy:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Huey

And here is what he wrote:

Hi Bill-

Good to hear from you . . . and, yes, you did thank me for the photos.
Glad you like them and can use them in your music room.

I'm flattered that you are so generous with your praise of my career.....
...............

As far as producing a CD for your group, I'm busy with my publishing company,
and really wouldn't have the time necessary to do a good job for you.

Please keep me posted on how everything is going with you, and with the CD.

I look forward to hearing it when you're finished . . . best of success!

All The Best,
Michael

So we're rolling, and speaking of rolling. I have decided to name my song "The Cigarette Train". I may have mentioned I have been in touch with the Georgia Railway Society to help me research the 1903 train wreck which spilled so many cigarettes across the countryside that even non-smokers got hooked.

Anyway, I'm still working to get us a producer. In the meanwhile, y'all's job is to 1. decide what you're going to perform and 2. Decide what charity (ies) you wiih to support with the sales of the finished product. I'm pretty sure which ones Peter Benson and myself wil support, but we need to decide if there will be others.

Thanks!

Bill

EDITED TO ADD: If I were to go FULL-TILT BOOGIE BATGUANO between now and then, my wish is that y'all finish for me, okay? smile

Thanks for the compliment on Bert! smile

This is like chatting, isn't it? If y'all want to, I can do Yahoo Messenger, ICQ or google to keep from having to tie up our site.

What does Roger think, and maybe one of the mods or the admin can get us going?

By the way, I see you posted your age in this one. In one of your messages last night you mentioned that you were older than I. I am afraid I am 3 years older that you my friend. Third of May 1947 is my birth date. lol

Yeah, but you aren't batguano, my dear friend! big_smile big_smile

Which brings up the question; Would you make that long trip to come down South and join in our little soiree (If I can hold out till then, that is)? You'd sure be welcome here in Georgia or Louisiana or Florida (if we can make it there). I know our friend NELA is in Louisiana, and one of our other guys lives in Florida and has hosted (Russell?) - so one of those places for sure. My place is available as well.

We'll have to talk to one of my son's friends who flies a helicopter and have him drop us down some fresh caught Gulf Shrimp. He's done it before over one of our Golf Courses. And of course NELA can bring the ....crawdads.... right? We'll have us a low country boil to beat anything ever experienced! smile

Let's see how it works out, though, okay?

Love you guys and ladies!

I'm nobody, Phill; just a motor-mouth with pretty much everything done I wanted to do.

I've also been a right bastard in my life and hurt some folks, but when I quit the booze (hard booze when I wasn't gettin' sick like offa the Bier I had last night). I made it my job one to get in touch with those I hurt and ask forgiveness. I think that's in the 12 Step Program, but I did it on my own - quit I mean. It was tough, but I was really anti-social at the time and wasn't gonna stand up in front of a bunch of folks pouring (so to speak) my life's trouble out in front of them.

Anyway, Phill, thank you very much, but kick my German ass off that pedestal you've got me on, okay? There are so many others who don't blabber as much as me who have overcome and done some better things with their lives and I would like to hear from them and let me shut up and read for a change! big_smile big_smile big_smile

Everybody doin' okay? Friends up North hit the Alka Seltzer yet today?

I myself had to worship at the porcelain altar this morning, but I'm better now. Beer (any kind of alcohol, really) doesn't mix well with all the meds I take, so no more of that stuff. I'm kinda sad about it, you know, because I never watch my German soccer team, FC BAYERN MUENCHEN, and not drink a beer or two.

Back in 2004 when Germany played (Italy, was it? Don't remember) for the world cup, ESPN broadcast the game beginning at 6 am. By 6:30, I was blitzed, boys and girls. It was the ol "Bier-Blitzkrieg" all over again. I called my friend Peter who also has a band in our hometown and told him we'd better win, cause I was skunk drunk and goose loose and I had never gotten drunk at 6 in the morning in all my life! smile

Anyway, back to Sunday. How about you lazy folks? Just swinging in your hammocks enjoying the breeze? Got a song just for y'all:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLs09J_x6-c

Enjoy it!

Oh, man! I had him pictured as an older guy, with a don't mess with me look on his face. He looks pretty good, actually - in a Shel Silverstein kinda way. By the way, Shel wasn't only a great cartoonist and author. He also wrote such songs as , "Boy Named Sue", "Sylvia's Mother", The Cover Of The Rolling Stone" (that Jim butchered yesterday - just kidding witcha, dood, okay? smile ) and other great tunes.

I love that 12 string, UJB and I really liked your songs. It was hard to hear sometimes.

Thanks. Zurf, for the help.
