Hi everyone, sorry been absent most of this month, had a very close family member in hospital for a couple of weeks up north, sadly they have passed away, hence my being absent on chordie.

Anyhow ......
neophytte, that little mic looks great, have you invested in one yet?

Peatle, as far as I am concerned trying new things in music is GREAT!!!  Keep on experimenting smile

Jim, this shorter version is good and it's a great song smile

neophytte, great setting the Vinyl Cafe to perform in.  Well done on your original song, nicely performed.  Only other comment I would make is, it was very hard to hear in parts what they words were that you were singing, not sure if it was because of the recording or the background public noise or the guitar louder than your vocals.

Peatle, that was a clever way to write and perform a song.  You had the old man and the young man responding to the audience.  Very clever, well done smile

Great suggestions neophytte.

Anyone else?

Hi,

Did a "live to air" gig last weekend, and mentioned the Chordie's FSOTM section, here is the audio.

Cheers

Richard

Way to go Richard!  Awesome for you to get out there and do a live to air performance, how cool is that!  Great the Chordie mention as well, Per will be happy with that.   How did this all come about that you got to go on live air?

Looking for SUGGESTIONS this month for SONGS with WORDS that are about MONEY, about ANIMALS, about SAILING.

Also looking for any SONG from the COUNTRY you live in.  A great chance to share something about your COUNTRY.

Jan and all of you New Zealanders ....

what a classic song......   I had never heard of it before.   A lot of history with that song.

Great cover Jan.

I can picture it being sung by a bunch of people at a party.

Thanks for sharing.
Jim

TIGLJK thank for having a listen and yes, it is definitely a party song here in NZ smile   Hey that was a great find you found on the internet and have shared regarding the history of the song smile

Jan your a natural born musician good to hear your excellent version of two great party songs from the 60/s.

Thanks Peatle for your feedback.  They are great parties songs still and always get people tapping their feet and singing along.

They weren't as rough as I was expecting, and the addition of the bass/snare was quite good!

Wow, just noticed it's almost the end of the month, better get something prepared for next month ... already!

Cheers

Richard

lol thanks Richard, was using my 6 stringed Kala ukulele on this one.  It actually is an eight string ukulele but I took 2 of the strings off as I prefer it with 6 strings.

Nice one neo.   I don't know that particular song I have to admit.  But without knowing the original, you performed it well from just listening to you.

Thank you, this is an original which has the line:

I'm feeling something completely new

Nicely done Richard.

lol yep Word Banjo noted and will be added to the list for February.   Your next assignment, duelling banjo`s smile

Ok, I have entered 2 very ROUGH #Covers tonight to enter this month.  Both done off the cuff, one time only recording as out and about tonight, and the next few days so won't have time to muck around recording.  Bit rough I must say, and I see from my last recording on Soundcloud I haven't played or sung for 10 months, far out, no wonder I felt very rusty.  Made me think of that old saying "use it or lose it" hmmm.

Certainly! Here's a snippet of an original song incorporating the words "NEW," "FRESH," and "HOME":

(Verse 1)
In the city where the lights gleam, a new day starts to rise,
A fresh beginning, a canvas unrolled, under endless skies.
We're reborn with the morning sun, a chance to break the mold,
Grandad's wisdom whispers in the wind, stories to be told.

(Chorus)
Home is where the heart is, where the guitar gently strums,
A melody of memories, where every beat becomes a drum.
In this new chapter, we find our way,
Fresh footsteps dance to a rhythm, guiding us today.

(Verse 2)
A phone call echoes through the distance, voices never alone,
Connections that withstand time, like seeds that have been sown.
The strings of the guitar vibrate with tales of old,
In the grandad's eyes, stories of love and courage unfold.

(Bridge)
A grandad's laughter, a timeless serenade,
A home that travels with us, no matter where we've strayed.
The chords of life play on, a symphony so grand,
A fresh perspective, in the heart, we understand.

(Chorus)
Home is where the heart is, where the guitar gently strums,
A melody of memories, where every beat becomes a drum.
In this new chapter, we find our way,
Fresh footsteps dance to a rhythm, guiding us today.

Feel free to use or modify it as you like!

Well socialbar, you nailed it.  You used EVERY WORD in your song!  Nicely done, awesome smile
