Thanks for more ideas guys/gals. Sorry Katie-I didn't research it enough as the finger of a woman came up,ring finger,

and I didn't look at other meanings...

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You weren't supposed to pay attention to that meaning. Haha! Hey, does Misty have a pretty ring finger?? JK, just havin' fun! smile

Hello?! That's why I suggested Anamika.... didn't anyone look up the meaning???    Just so you don't have to take the time here it is:

The meaning of the name Anamika is Without A Name

The origin of the name Anamika is Indian (Sanskrit)

Notes: Literal meaning: the child's destiny is not predetermined with the meaning of her name.

Wow is that it?! Hmm... Call yourselves the uncommoners. wink

Deadstring, love the song Angels Cried by Alan Jackson!

Haha! so many uses! I've made a couple of bracelets. I think they're pretty cute. smile You just have to bend the Bs and Es to where they won't poke ya. You can buy colored jewelry wire and wrap some of that around too.

Love it! I bet he can play!

They are in a band together.  LOL

Haha! That's it I guess?

Do you all have anything in common? Maybe you could play off of that...

Good luck!

House of the Rising Sun is a great song to start with, Texan. You might also try When You Say Nothing at All - Alison Kraus. Simple, beautiful, well known and fun to sing along with. smile If I Die Young is fun too, and pretty well known. What style of guitar do you like to play? If you want the tabs for When You Say Nothing at All, I might still have 'em.

Hmm... don't know. I'd say if the ultra lights are working for ya stick with them. They're easier, anyway. smile

Apple Jacks
Blue Genes (if you play much blues)
Anamika (check out the meaning)

Good luck!

I stand corrected. I am derelict in neglecting our very own Auxi.  I beg forgiveness.

And Auxi... right? You forgot about her... tongue

Haha, I guess I'll praise my Ernie Ball Lights again. Like I said in the other string post, I love them. They work perfect for my fingers and my guitar. I think they're 11s, and that's what I'd recommend for other girls. smile Hope that helps!

... but hey mess around with other strings. Nothin' wrong with that.

Crazy, I just bought the same strings! Love em, too. My guitar's a 70s model epiphone and the local guitar shop owner said I need light strings. He was so right. I tried heavier, but I thought they sounded muted - just for my guitar. That's when I switched to Ernie Ball Light.

That's great Badeye! Wish my renovation went as well... I put some 'new' strings on my guitar but they sound terrible and I'm afraid it affected my action. Anybody know if that's possible that it could have raised my strings? I changed then one at a time...

Good advice above. Also, if you're wanting to keep the slide sound, you don't have to slide all your fingers. It's easier to just slide your index, then place your middle, ring and pinky for the chord. Good luck!

Cat,
I have a Classical and I love it. Everyone says it sounds better than my steel string (Epiphone), which sounds pretty good in my opinion. Classicals do have a high action. That does make them harder to play (for me), but they sound beautiful and are fun to play with - especially fingerstyle. smile

Haha, I was just talking about this on another thread... Anyway, I see what your saying. Though, for some reason I can't grasp it. I always jump into things too fast. Hit the ground running I guess. LOL. I also always put the puzzle together wrong, undid it, and then followed the instructions... I'll never learn I guess. smile   Good advice.
