ApeDoctor,
If your wanting to build a kit, then you need to make sure you buy quality parts, [not the junk they put in Squires] So be sure to get the parts they put in actual strats! The reason I say this is because my brother had a Squire years ago and it was a piece of junk. Could never keep it in tune, so make
sure you spend the extra money and get decent parts like they put in their more expensive guitars!
If you are truly building from scratch than your gonna need alot of expensive tools! I assume your
talking kit guitar, if so thats not totally from scratch, but I would build a kit. Like I said earlier [buy
quality parts or you'll be sorry.] Don't forget wiring! didn't see it on your list, but if it's a kit, all that
should come with it. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

It's All good! I agree that the artist's should be responsible too and use common sense when
posting their songs. If anybody writes a song with offensive language they should clean it up
before posting it, or if someone wants to read it unaltered, they could send it to them via e-mail.
I personally try not to write offensive language in my songs cause I see no reason to write like
that. There are clever ways to write and get your message across without using offensive
language. I still believe in freedom of speech, but use common sense when posting your songs.
Actually I ran across a song a short while back in the songwriting section called "At The Bottom
Of The Hill" that had the F-word in it, so you might want to look thru there and pull it.

What about songwriting? Do we have to be careful what we write? I understand being courteous
in the forums, but I also believe in freedom of speech! I've read a few songs that have some
very controversial language, but I was never offended by it. And although I think people need
to be respectful and courteous to one another in the forums, I also think that the songwriting
section should be respectful to people's rights to freedom of speech in their songs. That being
said, I also think that remarks made about people's songs should be foul language free. I'm not
opposed to someone stating their opinion about someone's song, but that can and should be
done without the foul language. Just my opinion though!

Roger,
I'm working on recording all my songs that I've posted. I think I'm just gonna sit down, just me and my guitar and do a rough live recording, so everyone can get an idea how my songs go.
I'm not sure which site I want to upload them to. There's a lot of good sites! I'm registered as
an artist at myspace, but I'm considering registering with soundclick also. either way, as soon
as I get them recorded and uploaded, I'll let everyone know. I hope my explanation of those
chords helped. thanks for the kind words.

Hi Phil,
Those chord names can scare a person, can't they? The Am/G chord: 3X2013, is really quite simple to play. So is the Cmaj9/B: x20010. and last but not least, the C/G:332010. Just a fancy
C with a G note added. As far as the lyrics go, I guess a person could interpret what they want
into them. Those words just came to mind when I was thinking of what would fit in the chorus
that would compliment the verse's. I guess one could also interpret the line as if you don't see love, 'look a little deeper'! I think that it's up to the person reading it to decide what they want
it to mean to them. Hope that helps. And thanks for the kind words, I'm trying to get better at
the lyrical side of my songs. If I have people asking 'bout my lyrics, then I must be gravitating
in the right direction! Awesome! Thanks again for the kind words. I'm glad you like it.

Thanks everybody,
I'm new to recording music, so I'll try and record some of my songs and post them on myspace.
I haven't had a lot of free time to work on recording, but I'm gonna try to fit in some time.

Thanks KAP54,
As you can tell by my songs, I really like the Am/G chord, 3X2013. Simple to play. The Cmaj9/B
I took from a Bob Marley song. Also simple to play x20010. Just walk down from C to Cmaj9/B
to D7.

etc_04,
You are correct, 'She Talks To Angels' is in open E. I like open tunings, but find it a bit frustrating
To retune every time I want to play 'She Talks To Angels' or any other song thats open tuning.
Drop D is a lot easier to get to since all you have to do is drop your top string down one whole
step. I have seen bands play 'She Talks To Angels" In Standard tuning in bars, so it's possible
to play it without retuning!

Yeah, and why would a person want to copyrite material that someone else is going to have total
control over. Thats doesn't make sense. What good does it do any artist to have a contract with a corp. that in the end is going to have more control over your material than the artist them selfs.
If you ask me their the biggest thieves!!  I've read plenty of interviews with artist who have said them selfs that they were ripped off by record companies. And as far as Metallica goes, I see where their coming from on recorded material, but tab? Half of the tab on the web is not correct anyway. I can't tell you how many tabs I've had to correct in order to play the song right!!! I'm sorry but big corporations are the SCUM of the earth. The majority of them do more ripping
off than they do good. And no one, I MEAN NO ONE can say they have payed for everything they have downloaded off the internet! Anyone who says they have is a liar. TVlinks.com got shut down for hosting other websites that had movies on them, they did not have any movies on their website
at all. Isn't that the same thing chordie is doing? Giving access to other websites that people take tab off of? Don't get me wrong, I love chordie! But you cannot say it's any different.

This Is why I haven't bought any Metallica cd's or tab books! Their the ones who started all this, way back when. Rich people are the biggest whiners on the planet. Nothings more important to them than money and power. I think I'll just write my own music from now on! Piss on them. I'll still copyrite them, but I'll post them on the web for people to learn if they want to. I guess they don't want bar bands to promote their music!!! Their not very intelligent, this might open the door for us non-pro song writers to promote are music! maybe thats not a bad thing.

It's not the record company's per say, It's the publishing company's. They see the record company's getting their way through the court system, so their going to follow right along.
It's probably just a matter of time before they try to get a ban on recording equipment being
sold to the public for fear someone will make some money, and they won't get what they
consider their "cut". That's how greedy they are!! Big corporations are ruining the world,
and that's a fact!!! I hate seeing these big corporations screwing everyone they can.
