Mark,
Great stuff as always. Thanks for sharing. How is the playing with a band going?

The Line 6 pocket  pod is worth trying too , and it has more tones to choose from , only slightly more expensive .

+1 on that. Does the same thing with effects. But beware battery life is terrible so plugged in is the only way to go...I have no experience with the new "express" version

I think we are doing Butch a disservice here.  Lets get him set up right.

Butch, the proper solution to your many desires isn't one guitar that does lots of things, it's *lots of guitars.*

Some day, you will understand this, embrace the GAS, and be a better man for it.   smile

I agree! Butch needs to catch the GAS (Guitar Aquisition Syndrome) that affects so many of us! I agree that I love the sound of a good acoustic guitar but that's best achieved by a quality deep bodied acoustic. Also love the convenience of being able to amplify and get that acoustic tone but that seems best (arguably of course!) by a thinner body with good electronics.

Also a Telecaster sounds like a Telly, Stratocaster sounds like a Strat, and a Les Paul is .... a Les Paul... then comes all the quality copies, customs, crossovers, etc...  and suddenly thousands of dollars, a room full of guitars hanging on the wall, and hopefully an agreeable spouse. Then toss in a few mandolins, a banjo or two, and it's never ending!

Brutal....knowlingly passing along the GAS disease....Well either way he'd get it sooner or later at least now he'll know what it's called

Absolutely experiment. Try to stay within the confines of the key but jumping around it what makes it your own. If it sounds good to you....it's good

I own a Dot and they are nice to play.....mine's a studio so no flash. It's acheap way to get a decent hollow body. The casinos are OK but kind of pricey

+1 on above

I think sometimes those "funky chords" are really useful used sparingly whereever...and as 'tooter says too many can be crappy. Try mixing in with you regular 145 progressions sometimes they can be quite useful...suttle but effective

prayers sent.

+1 to what Zurf says.

I took the entire MCSE track about 8 years ago. I was already in the IT business and gainfully employed at the time. Personally, I felt it was a big waste of time and money. MS's certification says 1 thing...you learned how to take a test. Real world applications were never even considered; the instructors had less experience than the pupils. I can't say enough negative things about the whole program. The tests are worded to be intentionally confusing sometimes with multiple right answers. In my experience, there are so many better ways to train someone. Nothing matches real world experience. In my professional career I have never seen the networks depicted in the training manuals. It was pure fantasy

I'm not sure how the tests are now. When I did mine it was Win2K server and 2000 and XP on the client side. You pass your first test you are an MCP then I had to take 6 more to get the MCSE title. There are others as well MCDA, etc. depending on your focus.

I've met alot of certified folks and some of them have no clue what they are doing. This being said, companies place way too much weight on these certs so in the open market it gets you noticed and puts your resume on the top of the pile. There used to be a company that made study programs called Transcender. There 500.00 training program was WAY more helpful than the 8000.00 class.....

Just my 2 cents....sorry for the rant. It's been years and I'm still getting over it yikes

Good luck man. It's all about being good at taking tests

Congrats. She's already accomplished more than I have in 43 years!!!! And there's no way I could even consider doing a cart wheel!!!!!   yikes

That takes a ton of courage and you did a great job. You should be nothing BUT proud of your self. Well done!!!!

Happy New Guitar Day!!!! That is a vintage beauty. I bought a Dean Markley Pro Mag clip on and did not like it at all. IMO install one it's worth it or just mike it.

All the same....that is a lovely guitar not sure I'd put a hole in her.
