Just remember that music is a language. Just like any language it takes time and method. So once you become proficient...spellcheck..... you can say that you are bilingual.

I once heard a standup comic tell a heckler
'' shut up, I'm the one doing the talking here, I don't go to where you work and throw rocks at you while you mow someones grass! ''
I thought it was a great reply.

hey Brad,
If you can believe it I didn't have the time for the Jazz fest or anything else these days. I worked an average 60 hours a week for the past three weeks. I really wanted to see Van Morrison but I guess it will be at a future gig.
Love the old blues also, Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf, great music.
Have a great one,

Topic: Question from an acoustic player (13 replies, posted in Electric)
Been a long time accoustic player but getting the bug for an electric. Owned many electric guitars as a teen, should have kept the Strat And the Telecaster but they were sold over 20 years ago.
Now I'm just looking for an axe to have fun with. Low cost as my kids seem to eat all the budget...... lol
Heres my question. I saw a Strat knock off made by Quest. The touch was surprisingly nice, neck straight, body in good condition, plays nice. The shop owner says he would let it go for 140$ Canadian. Is it worth it?

What about the bagpipes - inconsiderate of other peoples's feelings?
From James' Joke site
Why do bagpipe players walk while they play?
To get away from the noise.

I usually play at home. Only time with others is at kitchen jams bout every two or three weeks, where I pick up tips and have a lot of fun. Good friends, Good music.
....Badeye.
Brad you must tell the truth. The only reason that your kitchen jams are two to three weeks appart is that that is the time it takes everyone to recover from the wobblie pops!
How ya been doing Buy?
I've been away working for quite a while, so now I'm playing catchup here.

Re: i need a electric guitar (6 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Find a good school where you can rent a guitar. Then show your parents that you will stick to it more then a few months. As a parent I am also weary of my kids wanting me to spend lots-o-dough for something that they will lose interest over. In other words prove to them over a long period of time that this is really what you want.
Explain to them.... with proof... the benifits to learning an instrument.
Check this out it may help, but remember the effort must be on your part.

First time I see the term Cyberturd. Just wanted to know if you have a copyright on that or can I use it. Fantastic term.
Keep up the good work as this really isn't the place for that kind of solicitation.

Hi Michel,
What a nice alluring name! Nicer then Mike!
You make it all sound so easy? Copy and Paste?
I get Emails from friends everyday with q marks asking whats this all about! I do nearly bust my gut laughing,at what i send them sometimes Dont ask how i manage This I just do.
I have tried with the mouse and controls, But one day it will work out. Now i can organize huge parties but cannot copy and paste!
Old Doll.
Hi Old Doll,
Thanks the name is quite common for the french, since the forum is mostly anglophone I tend to sign with Mike. It's just like Michael in english, Mihail in most russian and rumainian. What most english speaking people tend to find confusing is that the feminin is Michelle, as the pronounciation is the same.
go raibh míle maith agat ( for the compliment )
I haven't been on for a while as work has taken me away for quite some time. Happy to be back with the family and my guitar!

can I ask you what kind of music you enjoy?
Strumming patterns are very hard to explain. The best advise I can give you is use your ears. Listen to the song and just play along, you should be able to pick up the pattern.

Re: Party (30 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Good morning Helena,
Most arguments or hurt feelings tend to start with misunderstandings. I find it happens often in forums like this. People tend to post to each other at the same time as others are doing the same thing but often on a different subject. Also the cultural differences can often lead to clashes. Wires get crossed. I'm really not the Inuendo type, bodyguards rarely tend to be.
As for the power of the written word, we just proved that speaking up and communication are the best ways to deal with things.

But the best ships are friendships, and may they always be.''

Thank You Badeye,
But i think ill skip that one? I Actually have a mixed berry fruit smoothie every day! Make my own. Love them.. I also love lobster, but with salads only!
I did get an Email this morning from Canada,Telling me there is a lobster dish made with Brandy!
Yes Mr M Hebert, has taken more then one cheap shot at me! I learned a long time ago everything we give out as a cheap shot we get back 3 fold? So my cheap shots are only from the bottom of a shot glass!
I don't need Mr M Heberts approval of me, to live a very fulfilled loving life?
Do i sound unchristian? I dont mean to be! But honest Yes! Sincere! yes, not to bad for an Old Doll.
Ps, your song treasures has had the melody attached and chorded? So maybe soon you will get to hear it?
Once again thank you for your soft place to fall!
Have a good Day.Helena.
Helena, I'm at a loss trying to remember any cheap shots in your direction. Actually I find your posts inteligent, funny, and refreshing. Your positive attitude seems very contagous(Spellcheck). I do have a tendancy to goof off and make wise cracks yet never to hurt or disrespect anyone. I have a very stressfull job and goofing off helps to relieve that stress. If you find that at any time I was out of line please let me know right away. I'm a big boy and I can take it.
