Very nice job GW - I agree with Nom, likely one of the very best first posts.  We do hope you'll join us here on Chordie and get to know the crew.  smile  I'm glad the site was found to be acceptable by our Admin to be posted on our forum.  Yippie!  Excellent job!

ha ha ha!  Yes guys, the ultimate power that is the great creator of Chordie is on it and checking it out.  Agreed, there is merit however there are rules and the boss has the final say.

Jeff, LOVE the super secret code.  Only a true chodian will be able to decipher that!  big_smile

I'll be there in thought.  Pulled up the pics from last year, and it has me yearning even more to take the trip.  It's a good thing we didn't plan on it though as we've got pre-k graduation and dance recital this weekend.

If anyone would like to view, my pics from last year's trip are still available here:  https://plus.google.com/photos/10354181 … 2145599217

Oh no.... maybe the light technician shouldn't be allowed near a bottle of anything flammable.  Perhaps just a slab of dead cow and sing one of my songs!!!  smile

As it turns out, next week is going to be aweful for me as well.  We have pre-k graduation (AND Recital rehersal) Thursday night, Recital on Friday, Recital again Saturday (um yes, all day pretty much), and then Father's Day I'm sure all the Daddies will be busy.  HOWEVER... school is letting out soon here, so perhaps there's be a little more time in the schedule this summer!!!

MAYBE.  I'm not quite sure yet what everyone's up to in the house ... although I would have to log off of the session at 5:30 PM (EST) at the very latest.  I'll keep ya updated.

Jeff?

Zurf?

If need be... I'd be more than willing to give one of you my info so you could impersonate me on Skype and use my premium membership when I'm not available.  wink

As you already have the same thread asking the same question on this same section of chordie with an answer already, I am closing this one.  smile

I am spoiled, and never try to deny it.  Yet... in some instances in life I've been far from it, so I take what I can when it comes to being spoiled.  I think I'll go hug my Martin now.

Very sorry to hear about the loss of your friend.  I'm sure you'll fill us in when the time is right.  In the meantime, regardless, a loss is a loss and prayers go out to his family and of course you, and his other friends dearly missing him.

Roger, I liked it too.  Kind of like Russell's "Clint Eastood" like photo up there.  wink  If you clear your internet cache - it'll probably show properly for you though, if you MUST change it.  smile

I've had a sick kid, so my two days off were spent taking care of her.  I think she's finally getting better now.  I have to work tonight and tomorrow as usual, but if I get a little extra time while Jim and the girls are painting the cow or something, I'll try to get on.  Days are rough around here though as the family usually wants me involved with them and not playing my guitar.  LOL!

Sorry to hear about the loss of your friend guys.  She looks like a great baker, and a ball of fun.  I'm sure she'll be missed.  Blessings upon her family and those who miss her.

Prayers.  Hopefully he just bought himself a new tent and some gear and is out in the woods having himself a little alone time.  Nonetheless... alone time in the woods without much word is a bit off even for those that are a bit off.  Again, prayers for his family and his safe return.

Sounds like a good plan.  smile  I'm sure your brother will be happy, and knowing it was one that you have loved personally maybe he'll even be more likely to try to learn how to play it!!!

rvennenman - I believe you can download an entire songbook, instead of individual songs.  I dont' do it too much so I'm not positive.  Try adding the songs you like into your song book and go from there.  Good luck!  smile  And welcome to the forums!

We did our usual - went to the cemetary yesterday and planted flowers on the man who would have been my father in law's grave.  He served in the Navy (as did my husband) and his stone is just beautiful.  I never met him, but that doesn't stop me from feeling love for a man who clearly raised his son well.  Trying to explain Memorial day, and the grandpa that they never had to my girls is a little tricky though... as well as the sister they never had who is laid at his feet.  It's raining today here, the first Memorial Day in many years that hasn't been a beautiful sunny day.  I salute those that have served and are no longer with us.

$359 is 1/3 of the way to the Martin I want.  I'm not sure what yours will cost, but 1/3 of the way is kind of a big deal.

Zurf makes an EXCELLENT point!  That's about what we put down on mine... and then paid the rest a few weeks later to bring home that sweet moca sound.  Take the $$ and go pick out your Martin and put it on layaway!

Good luck DJ - If you give him one of yours and it doesn't work out... you could get it back.  If you get him a BETTER one than one of yours, you could end up with IT as a new guitar if it doesn't work out.  If it does work out, you'll have someone to play with, and a guitar you really like to play when you visit.  I think it's a win-win, and hopefully he'll like it as much as we all do!!!!  GREAT idea!

DJ - It would be fab if you'd join us for a skype jam!  No ear plugs needed, TRUST ME, no one is awesome - no one has perfect guitar playing AND perfect pitch - we're all just a bunch of hacks like yourself!  LOL!  I am curious though, what takes you away?  I'm assuming this is all work related, but what type of work excatly if I may ask?

Yes, bring that guitar with - and guitar lessons sound like a great gift for Father's Day, but again, don't let the lack of them stop you from joining us!  smile

Amy

ps - safe travels sir!  and an early HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to you!

I'm not sure if I've found the right song or not, this one seems to come from a different album.  Plus, it's all piano.  Is this it though?  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1NCvnG8AMFo

You'll have to help us out a little here to help you out.  Some of the members are quite good at figuring out chords by just listening.  If this is/isn't it, we'll need to know, and if not you'll need to find something for them to listen to so they can figure it out for ya - if you're still looking.  smile  Thanks!!!

I'll tell you what my hubby told me, "Sure you might be happy with another guitar, BUT because your heart is set on a Martin you'll still want the Martin.  Just get the Martin."

So, if you haven't enough coin yet for the Martin, keep saving.  Visit that guitar in the store, but keep on saving for that Martin.  You will not be disappointed in the end!  smile
