My wife lives by the "don't say anything if you can't say anything nice" rule as has therefore never commented on my playing or singing. The fact that your Mrs. said you playing sounds very good is a huge compliment!! Way to go Tony!

Congrats Toney and Mrs. SouthPaw! I remember the births of my kids vividly as they are the most memorable days of my life. I know you are floating on cloud 9 right now and I wish you very few sleepless nights to come.

I'll chime in on the name game and vote for Taylor first (it's my last name as you know and has served me well smile)  Gibson is very cool and would be my second choice. Love Chaz as the first name.

When are you buying him his first guitar? I figure you gotta wait until they are potty trained - that's when you know if a boy is right or left handed big_smile

Sounds like a blast Wayne. When I was working in WV, there was a monthly gathering that I joined in on a few times. It's great to learn / play with others. Would be great to find a similar gathering where I am now. So - any members in Spartanburg, SC during the week or in Winston-Salem, NC area on weekends - let's hook up!!

Chordie continues to amaze. Amy introducing good ol' southern buttermilk biscuits to all of Europe. The interweb is a great place. :-)

It's the unions and government DOT workers that give us real construction workers a bad name. I assure you my guys bust their butts every day - the one's that don't aren't employed very long. Finding a true, skilled tradesman that will still bust hump is difficult these days, but they can be found. My success depends on having those kinds of folks on my crews and I'm glad to say we have a bunch of them. We make sure the good ones know they are valued.

Got the mower out yesterday, tuned her up and cut the lawn for the first time this year. I enjoy spending time in the yard and garden this time of year. Come August.... not so much.

Cam - I'll be pulling for the dookies tonight. When it comes tourney time, I always pull for all the ACC teams, well ABC anyway.

For the non locals ABC= Anybody But Carolina

I've also been toying around with an acoustic take on Bing Crosby's "Swinging on a Star" http://www.youtube.com/user/Guitarpixx# … ATftJiWdkw though I'll be playing the parody by fretkiller more http://www.youtube.com/user/Guitarpixx# … o3jeHrZbWs

Pix - You got chords for "Swinging on a Star"? My grandmother used to sing that tune all the time. I found a version a while ago, but it was all wrong.

With my new position in South Carolina, I found a little lake cottage to rent. It's an old cottage but quite charming with crooked hardwood floors and a great back porch. I spend most evenings on the porch strumming and watching the lake. Last weekend, I went out tackle shopping and am looking forward to throwing a line out and seeing what bites. I'm sure crappie will be abundant, maybe some large mouth. I'm strictly a live bait bobber type fisherman. Enjoying some cold beers on the dock on a beautiful afternoon is fine with me. If a fish bites, that's just an added bonus.

Sorry I have been slack in keeping up with the map. Working a new job out of town is keeping me busy. Glad to see the package continuing to move. Latest update is 42,267 miles. Updated map link below:

If anybody wants to assist with keeping up the map (Amy, hint, hint wink ), let me know. All you need is a gmail address and I can add you as a collaborator.

ETA - Badeye - I'm curious, is the next person in-line a new recipient or another repeat?

Hi Jim - Have you tried going to File / Page Setup from your browser - in both IE and Fireox, you can change your margin settings from there. Set the left margin to 1" (or 1-1/2") and you should be good to go.

ETA - roger beat me to it smile . I also do the same thing with clear sheet protectors, makes my printed song book much easier to manage.

A song titled "I Don't Know" seems extremely appropriate to play as a tribute to a young man's untimely passing. Nobody knows when their time is gonna come. Toney - I know you will play with all the heart and feeling it deserves. A few tears shed  would seem appropriate.  My thoughts are with you and all of Shawn's friends and family.

And I hope you are heeding your own advice. "Write and record your music folks! One never knows when it might be too late.........." There's a certain CD I've been really wanting to listen to.

I've been watching it all day Cam. I'm an NC State guy and although unsuccessful today, the Pack kids made me proud. They had a great run ending the season and at the tourney.

Good luck to your dookies, I trust they will represent the ACC well at the big dance.
