I don't remember Puff the Magic Dragon being a train wreck in Virginia. I think so long as you're singing Amy, not many folks will care about your drunk fingers.
I'll have to look for a few C F & G sad songs to put in the Chordie book. I'd like to get some chords to some of Beamers Metal songs so I can try and get my bass licks up to par. I don't think there's enough time for that even for the 2015 Chordiestock, but permit me my delusions.
- Zurf
WOW zurf, Im humbles LOLOL ill send you some of my originals and you and I can sit down and try to hammer them out, im sure you can follow with some fancy root notes and its octive I dont write tricky stuff, just loud stuff LOLOL
really Im gonna send you a few originals if you want to play bass. Who has the acoustic bass?
@Jeff Yep I had the idea and my weekend was soaked up detailing a honda accord. I am going to pratice by golly! I just have to get my mind in the right place. I am thinking of bringing my tiny plastic amp and my digitech for the acoustic, it adds a cool variety to stuff. how else do I do the heavy version of sounds of silence? it also has a guitar bass setting to fake a bass. and then I think do I just bring the SG? AHHH decisions! tonight Ill see If I can put together some stuff and send you my "set list" . On that Fri night we will be visiting with my friend Carrie but I hope to get in around 2 pm so we are close enough to do both, and as I mentioned she may just want to hang with us. Or she may take carla out for "Artsy" things to do. BTW she is in clearwater. about 30 min to your place. looks like I go south and hang a right across the bridge and Im at your place LOLOL.

Sweet lord, "Puff................... the magic dragon"? Really Jeff? You want to try THAT again? ha ha ha ha! (on the other hand, I just found if you transpose it +5, there's no Bm! LMAO!)
Blowing in the wind: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/?url= … ranspose=0
My songbook is printed paper sheets, so I'll have to take a look and see what else I've got (you all know it's a lot of easy stuff).
Dino - I thought about the Epi, although... I don't have a hard case for it. It's a dread, and my Martin is a 000 size. My little classical could fit, but... probably not worth bringing it. I'm going back and forth on bringing the Martin or not. One minute I think yes, the next I think no. LOTS of time for me to go back and forth. It'll likely end up coming with me, as I imagine my hubster will insist that he bought it for me so that I can play it!
AMY, no excuse now, affordable dred cases http://www.guitarfetish.com/Hard-Shell-Cases_c_379.html from 64 up. I feel the same about my Ovation Pacemaker. Ill probably be bringing the 6 string Kamen,, Ill just put INSURANCE on it for 3x its actual value. (you cant even find them on line hardly except other people asking for info on them) If they crush it, well it will suck to loose a 20 + yr old guitar,, but I can buy a brand new one or 2 from guitar fetish to help me over my greif!

OK next friday is bonus day! That means 2 round trip tickets!!! Confirmed sleeping at Carries house in her guest room, still trying to get her address so I can figure out how far away. Notice I said 2 tickets, Wife is all for it now. She may go wandering off on her own but thats fine too. Now really, Do I chance the 12er to the airlines, or bring my road guitar? (the black Kamen) seeing as how you guys are going to chance your Martins. I also am trying to think of a good set of songs to bring, Of course my standard 10 or so, but have been thinking of a few new ones, Hmmm, I think Carla will have to play photo/vidioographer. Ill have a clean 8 gig chip in our camera and lots of batteries.
So should we post up our standard song list +what we are hoping to learn new and see what all we got? I know Wayne has 100's and can probably teach us less talented players a few things as we go LOLOL,, ill post up a new thread after I compile some ideas.
IS IT FEB YET?????

If you go acoustic electric you reall have teh best of both worlds.
You sound like your ready to drop a lot of $$ on a new guitar. If you can get over the name brand stigma, I think you should really give http://www.guitarfetish.com/Xaviere-Aco … c_361.html a look. These are some pretty awesome guitars and they dont break the bank. You could buy 3 new guitars for one Martin or Taylor. they aslo have great electrics if you wnated just to pick one up for fun. Russes just bought a great Les Paul style guitar from Rhondo music.
However, if you want to spend money on that Martin, Im not saying that sucks either! LOLOL
check out this thread about the guitar I bought my son.

A men's X-large is good with me (I LOVE t-shirts for jammies, and in the event I get too drunk and forget to shop, I can give it to JIM! LOL). Nothing on the back necessary.
YAY! The Metalizer will be there! I'm pretty personable. The wife should feel comfy, and I have a feeling Lizzy is a GREAT sport too! Also let her know that I've met both Jeff and Zurf (Paul too if he shows), and they are perfect gentlemen and great people. NO other way I'd put myself into the situation of being thousands of miles from home without the hubby with me and a ton of men around. GOOD GUYS and she'll love them too!!
yep Im looking fwd to meeting you finally, would like to meet Jim also but we cant have it all.

Shirt's not a guarantee yet. Most likely I'll have them printed and sent to Jeff. You can pay me at the event. I'll need to know three things:
1. Your size
2. Whether you want a name on the back
3. If you want something on the back, whether you want your handle, your actual name, or what. The T shirts are Hanes beefy tees in men's sizes. I might be able to get ladies sizes, which I realize is of no use to Beamer, but Liz and Mekidsmom might appreciate it.
size 2Xl
Handel on back , well I never thought of that, you know I want "THE METALIZER" on there!
"I might be able to get ladies sizes, which I realize is of no use to Beamer" -- Hey does this shirt make me look fat??

LOLOLOL Great, Im just not gonna send my non replaceable Pacemaker through the mail or the airlines.
(maybe we should do Jeff a favor and bring a new set of strings with us for the 12)

Re: How to use computer as effects box? (7 replies, posted in Electric)
this link may help
http://softadvice.informer.com/Free_Gui … tware.html
My advice is to get a zoom, digitech, or line6 pod. they interface with your PC/MAC. You have more options than you would normaly use + drum machine with the digitech. You can pick them up used or the RP255 new for around 150, any digitech lower than the 250 (the predacessor) will not interface. not to mention you have a user library of over 1000 patches to work with also.
To put your guitar into the puter you need either a cable like they sell for rocksmith, or a 1/4 to 1/8 patch and run into your sound card.
This year I plan on buying Rocksmith as its a great tool and keeps praticing fun, not to mention it has the effects your talking about in it also. I have not read favorable review on the PC versions,, so im going with Xbox.
Hope this helps!
Scott.

COUNT ME AND THE WIFE IN!!!!!
I ASKED HER TODAY AND ALL SHE WANT S TO KNoW IS IF OTHER LADIES WILL BE THERE! As soon as the bonus check gets here, should be this week! Ill buy the tickets. After that Its just logistics and deciding what guitar how much seet music to ship to Jeff's via UPS. Time to start practicing! Time to get one of my guitar cases two broken hinges fixed!
Oh I told her Amy ws going to be there and Wayne an his wife and maybe Lena, and that if she got too bored with us on the guitars, Idd call my friend Carrie to take her around the town.
So I think giving up my motorcycle rally in mar is well worth it since last year was not too good, I am now officially psyched! ( If she bails at the time of buying tickets, then BY GOD IM STILL ON MY WAY!)

Re: guitar sound (5 replies, posted in Electric)
You get used to that chorus. At volume (unles your punching it with an all valve head or combo)
I think solid state amps just dont push it.
THough I dont play live (wish I did have that much talent, i used to garage band it for a while) when Im on my electric, I just cant play dry. I just dont like the sound. For clean I still have a pinch of gain in there for some boost, and definatly the delay and chorus and maybe a hint of verb in there also.
for rock, im pushing the he!! out of it with my full bore metal or if not going over the top, some good OD out of the digitech set for a Boss OD1.
