That was a really great song !  Thanks for sharing it.

Beautiful ChildJim Kenyon

[G] Innocence, found [C] in its purest [G]form

[C] beautiful, the [G]calm before the [D]storm

[Em] no hate no [D] bias, no [C]bigotry [G]exists

yet [C] so much to [D] face and re[G]sist

[G]born into a [C] world that can be [G]cruel

it's [C]got it share of [G]knaves and [D]fools

[Em] but there’s also [D]kindness and [C]love all a[G]round

and [C] it's just waiting, [D] there to be [G]found

[Em]so what I wish to [C] give you [G] in the times to [D]come, is

[Em] happiness, and [C] wisdom, and a [G] life full of [D]love

[Em]A world of pleasant [C]memories kept [G]safely in your [C]heart

and [G] know that I'll be [D] gone someday, but we’ll [C] never,be [G] apart

[G] little smiles that [C] just melt my[G]heart

a [C]touch that says I [G]trust you from the [D] start

[Em] chest to chest [D]heart to heart [C]a little hand in [G]mine

it be[C]gins a love to[D] last for all of [G]time

[Em]so what I wish to [C] give you [G] in the times to [D]come, is

[Em] happiness, and [C] wisdom, and a [G] life full of [D]love

[Em]A world of pleasant [C]memories kept [G]safely in your [C]heart

and [G] know that I'll be [D] gone someday, but we’ll [C] neverbe [G] apart

[D] know that if I’m [C] gone,someday,we’ll never be [G] apart

[D] know that if I’m [C] gone,someday,we’ll never be [G] apart

[D] know that if I’m [C] gone,someday,we’ll never be [G] apart

and if your wondering why I chose those woods, it's bc they were laying around in my barn smile

I put in 1959 fender pic ups
The wood is poplar, pine and cedar with oak pic guard ( which took me 5 attempts to make !) sad

I learned so much while doing this......  took a lot of work
It plays beautifully - soft 60's sound.  I absolutely love it.  Now if I could play like Phill all would be great ! smile

Easybeat
Can you post lyrics and chords ?

I liked the tune a lot , but I thought the sound of ( whatever it is) the kinda screechy thing took away from the guitar and your voice.
Other than that I thought it was very good.  Keep them coming.

PS  what was that sound ?  smile

Just my opinion but that line that ends with
“spun the tires out of that gravel nowhere”.
Maybe I’m not getting it but that doesn’t make sense to me

Needs a tweak.

Maybe something like

Her tires spun,  throwing gravel , in a hurry to get anywhere
Or something like that
I don’t know.  Just a suggestion
It truly is a great song
Phil - send me a copy when it’s done!

JJJ
That is hysterical.  Great advice however
I gave away one f my guitars ( epi LP studio) to one of friends and figured since I did that I was entitled to at least browse the music stores.  I haven’t plunged yet but I feel the time is nearing.  I think I’ll have a bracelet made to wear when I go that says “ What would JJJ do?”

Bill
He would be time traveling forward instead of backwards like everyone else.
Without him Beethoven might never have even written on song

I am so excited!   I am in Clovis NM. And this morning I'm going to the Petty studio where Buddy Holly began his career.
It's a little hole in the wall but I am so intrigued to be able to sand where some the early greats recorded not only their music, but history itself
You have to make an appointment with this sweet little ol guy that maintains it' there is no admission- he just says "there's a jar there if you want to donate so the fellers and gals after you can also enjoy it"

Here is short YouTube description of the place - going there in a couple hours!

It appears there are two stories here? Both well written and they draw the reader in.

I quite agree!!!

The xception being I'm seeing three scenes, not two

The end of each scene is left unknown, except that they are starting anew - that is fabulous.    Am sure that everyone of us has a different ending for each

This is one of those songs (as a fellow songwriter ) that you say " damn, I wish I had written that !"

I can't wait to hear it in finished form

That Verges on being one of the funniest stories I ever read
A fiction writer would have trouble making up a scene like that
Glad it worked out. Thanks for the early morning smile

Bill

I am not sure, but I don't think they ever concluded there was a 10th symphony.  Some guy named Cooper had pieces and put it together and filled in some.
From what I remember the quote was, " it's more of a piece that is Cooper's first rather than Beethoven's 10th" ,

It would be really cool if there was a tenth-  I love listening to Beethoven - it has such majestic components to the sound.

Good luck in your search

Not to "squash" the conversation, but I'm sure we all have "bean" waiting for the response from the head pickler here on Chordie.
My intent is not to "pepper" you with "sage" advice, just to "leek" out a few good lines.
"Zucchani(t)" just about anything if it is brined in vinegar (apparently  even eels- arrgh:(  )

I don't want to "beet" this thread so I will conclude by saying -

"Lettuce" all be thankful for pickles."
"Peas" be with you all !
So with that said - it's time to "end(ive)" this piece and  get the "Mojo" on !! smile
It certainly would be thre right thing to do - give him a "turn(ip) !

Jim  smile

p.s.  I hope my comments won't be the cause of any "rhubarbs" among us!

Amy

THAT'S WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT GIRL!!!!

What a gift you have in that voice of yours. To me it has a blend of Jon Baez, Joni Mitchell and a tad bit Janis J in it. The guitar sounds fabulous and it is a fine looking instrument as well ! I absolutely love the way you put your own stamp on this song - ahhhhhhhhh the passion and commitment to the song! Just plain excellence !!  The sound your new guitar makes matches your voice perfectly - I definitely think Jim hooked you up very well. (It's like he knows you or something smile  )
Don't get too busy to perform - you have a special gift - share it.   It's really too bad you and Jan couldn't duet -  two great voices - two different accents - one song - I believe it would be awesome.

Keep'em coming - thanks for sharing

Jim

This is my lame attempt at song recording.
I wasn't going to record it, but then I realized that i couldn't not put it out there or I would be just as those that I criticize in the song.

Just to clarify - the swords in the song are not the guns, the swords  all the excuses and stupid political roadblocks we use to keep from resolving the problem.

Thanks for the listen.
(and I'm still hoping that someone that can actually play and sing will cover this . )  smile
