I have asked Per to look into changing the colours used in the Stickys to make them easier to read several times in the past. As Jeff said it is a low priority and it has been changed once before but this result is little better than the earlier one. I think that there are limitations as to what changes Per can make to it otherwise it would have fixed the last time he changed it.

However I will drop him a line and ask him if he will put on the 'To Do' list.

There was some uncertainty amongt us as to whether this post was acceptable and I temporarily moved it into the Moderator's section whilst awaiting a decision from the site owner.

Happily our doubts were unfounded and so I have moved the post back.

Enjoy.

Is it not possible to repair the board?

Unless it has micro components that have been damaged or you have drilled through the middle of an i.c., it could be possible to solder fine link wires across the circuits that have been broken. Certainly worth looking to see.

You need to enter the old password oherwise it will not accept the new one. I am guessing that you have your username and password saved between visits to enable you to log on now.

I can change your pasword without the old one so if you do need it changing please write to me privately and I will alter it to something simple and you can then use what I give you to change it to something you can remember.

These girls have been playing for a year and only had 2 weeks on the B. Perhaps I will start them on the full barred B next week and turn them into mutants smile.

Two weeks ago, two of my students Tatiana (just turned 12) and Raquel (aged 11) asked me to teach them Elvis's "Can't Help Falling In Love". As they need it in C to suit their voices the chorus starts with two beats of Em, one beat of F#m and one beat of B. They had to learn the dreaded 'B' and this is the result:

Bushy

I am deeply hurt and upset with this remark as it seems to infer that I do not have hair and I do really have hair, maybe a little thin on the crown, but I have my own real live growing hair: photo with the Rock Choir taken 26th May!!!!! proof..................

Hi Robert,

You have got a bum deal there, my friend, from management that leave much to be desired. Keep your chin up and stay cool.

My neighbour's son dared me to use the photo of me wearing a blonde wig as my avatar for a week.

Foolish boy, that was an easy one to win.

Mind you I do not seem to be able to replace it at the moment. I can delete it, but anything different that I try to put up comes as the hairy one!! It may be judgement on me but I will try again later. smile

There are several Teles with humbuckers. Check the Fender website.

Try playing it and singing it it in Am without the capo. This will make it three steps lower and may suit your voice better.

I forgot to mention in my email that each chord shown is for 4 beats unless there is a superscript number at the side of it showing different. It is double strummed (i.e. two down strums per beat) and palm muted.

As it is in a minor key there is no way to play it in G, which is a major key, but if you really want to play the song that will be the incentive to learn new chords.

It is easier to play in Am with the capo on the 3rd fret if you want to keep to the original key but, as with any song, you really need to play it in the key that suits your voice, so you can move your capo  to a position that suits you best.

I have a good backing track that my students use which will help you keep in time so if you want, and you let me know what key (or capo position) suits you, I can adjust the key and send a copy for you to work with.

Try using Amy's chart, it is easier to understand.

If you put a capo on the 2nd fret and play the C shape chord you will be playing D. The D shape chord will become E and so on, for every chord shape you play the actual note is shifted up 2 steps.

A  A#  B  C  C#  D  D#  E  F  F# G   G#  A
    Bb          Db       Eb          Gb       Ab

Best guess!!

It is not 1 2 3 4 5 6 but 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th and 6th.

Musically high and low refer to pitch and not position or direction, so the first string is the highest and the last (sixth) is the lowest.

So think musically and not phyically, so that going up and down the fretboard or up and down a string will refer to pitch of the note, and you cannot go wrong.

Amy (mekidsmom) placed a similar chart as a 'Sticky' in the Acoustic section some time ago:

Sorry you misunderstood me. The D A E is a key change, the sus2 would alter the timbre of the sound.

Going with what sounds best to you is the way to go.

Well playing C G D with the capo on the 5th is F C G, but I can only assume that Dsus2 Asus2 and E was played as a key change to suit the singer's vocal range and possibly they liked the 'sus2' sound to the accompaniment. (You did not say whether the vid was the original artiste or a cover version and I am assuming a cover.)
