You can find me running, if someone is chasing me holding a gun or knife.  That's about it for me and sports.  I was deeply involved in music in high school.  I made it to all state choir and competed in NYSSMA and NATS.  I was in the regular chorus, the jazz choir, as well as the girls choir and participated in a few of the musicals.  No time for sports between that and my social life.  LOL!

Welcome back Zurf!  Do you feel the need to have a vacation from the vacation, or did you actually relax a little?  Did all the kids survive or did you end up tying them to the roof on the final ride home?  smile  Glad you had a good time, minus the injuries of course!

Randy - I found that the action on my new Martin was an amazing help - as well as the general comfort in the neck.  Yes, I think the comfort level of the Martin does help to improve our playing.  On the other hand, my Martin has also shown me how I need to fret better as the action is low, so does the buzzing from poor fretting become much easier.  sad  So it's been a bit of a double edged sword for me.  On the other hand, I figure it's teaching me a LOT at the same time.  I do litterally kiss and hug my Martin.  I believe the tone is the very best part of all.  It's part of my family now.  smile  Enjoy!!!!!

Baynton and Spiritofcat - please email admin@chordie.com as requested.  Admin doesn't come to the forums all that much for bugs/reports etc as he lets us mods handle most things in here.  He has been working feverously to get all the bugs out with the new server update and as stated, he thought the editing had been fixed.  Thanks for your help and patience!  smile

Gerald, I just checked and I am able to access artists including chords, even the Beatles (which has been an issue for many people for a while now).  Please first try to clear your cache.  If that doesn't clear the issue, please email admin@chordie.com with details and please be certain to include what internet browser you are using and any error messages you may be getting.  He may not get back to you immediately as he has been working on this all night long, but I promise he will get back to you!  Thank you very much for your help in getting everything straightened out for all!  smile  I'm sorry you're still having problems.

LOL Z!

Happy NGD (a little late) Whitewater!  That is awesome.  A friend handing out Martins.  Amazing!  Keep that guy around and make sure you get in his will.  wink

Jerome - I think your statement, "Police have absolutely no duty to protect you from anything" is so sad yet true.  Even most American born citizens don't understand that one until after they've had the chance to test it.  So sad, but so true.  Police are not there to protect anyone, they are only there to catch presumed bad guys AFTER they presumably done something bad.  And then, the crime has to be "bad enough" for them to bother.

Some one came into our garage and RIPPED the battery out of our lawn tractor, stole a battery for a welder, and a cordless drill.  The police said, "Were the doors open?"  What's it matter?  They came on MY property and stole MY property!  Apparently, if your property is easily accessable to thieves, and they didn't steal over $500 worth, the police really don't care.  Yet, if my husband had caught them and beaten them to a pulp or shot them he'd probably be in jail.  Worst part, we know who PROBABLY took it.  The police said they'd go "talk" to those guys.  All that will do is MAYBE scare them from doing it again.  They won't bother trying to recover anything.  I once witnessed someone stealing from my neighbor, knew who it was and took a picture. The police TRIED to contact him but that was the extent of it.  Again, less than $500 worth of property was stolen.

Moral of the story, even if you have proof who the bad guys are, the police won't do anything unless it's a "horrible enough" crime.  There is no protection, and the police take the justice system into their own hands deciding what's worth their time and what isn't.  Apparently free coffee at the local gas station is far more important.

Sigh... my son wants to be an officer.

My $100 still camera takes hd videos.  I use it for both, and I must say the video quality is excellent.  Not what you'd expect from a still camera at least.  I can only imagine what an $800 hd vid camera would do.

Have fun Russ - as long as you are that's all that matters!!!

Awesome Nao!  It's sad to hear that brothers that seem to be so close had been so far for a while.  I'm glad you two guys got it back.  May the years be blessed!

Gander1?

Anyhow... Zurf if you're heading to Niagra Falls, just make sure you're there for at least one evening.  The falls are impressive, but they are BEAUTIFUL at night!  If you stay on the US side instead of the Canadian side you may find more camping opportunities close enough by to drive over to the falls to see it.  If you get bored, there's a cute little theme park called Fantasy Island that I used to love going to when I was a kid.  It's still very much little kid friendly, although absolutely NOTHING epic (though, I haven't been there since Alex was around 4).  On the other hand, if you're going to Canada anyway, I would make a point to visit Marine Land.  It's something the kids would never forget!  When you're heading back home, do you have any plans to come through NY?  Jeff MIGHT be coming my way sometime in August, not quite sure when your plans are to be in Niagra Falls, but I'm in Central NY on the north shore of Oneida Lake and there's lots of camping nearby.  It would be pretty cool if you and Jeff were both here around the same time.  I'd call in sick to work for a visit with you and the family.  wink  Don't change any major plans for us though of course, just.... if you happen to be coming down the 81 or the I90 anyway, I'm really close off the exits of both.  big_smile  We don't have any major rivers nearby to fish, though there are lots of creeks and of course walleye are plentiful if you feel like taking a float in the lake.

Yes, wishing you all well down there!  The cable company I represent at work had over 85K customers without cable as of yesterday morning after all the storms and heat etc.  I understand a lot of folks are without power still and expecting that to continue for up to a week.  Staying cool in that type of heat without A/C is difficult for certain!  Wishing you all well!!!
