Hmmmm.... I think opening up a new thread in the recording section or asking in the general chat section would be your best bet. This thread is very old and is about Chordie members getting together to create music together. Good luck! I know the OLD ones are safe and royalty free.

HEY BUSHY!!!! Glad to hear you're back home for a bit!
I'm ok - been busy looking for a new job. I still have mine, but pretty much just got told that I won't come the end of the month and I was expecting that coming. I've got a few good prospects, so cross your fingers for me! On the other hand, I feel like it's about time to get the Martin on Youtube! I haven't recorded anything in a long time, so long the Martin hasn't even made it yet. Shame on me!

Happy New Puppy Day BGD!! YAY for puppies! They are so cute, but what a pain when they chew things they shouldn't and pee on things they shouldn't. Speaking of which, Stevie needs to get neutered. ugh! But love them to pieces!

If you have any links to the music (like youtube), we do have some members that are pretty handy with listening to music and figuring out what the chords are.

Wow MB - I just learned a lot in a short amount of time, about farming, economy, and politics. Thank you very much for sharing the inside story of the farmer. I'm glad to hear all will be good this year for your dad. The downfall is that next year could be different, and that's how it is in any self run business... putting money away for the rough times takes a lot of intelligence and willpower... something most of us who earn an hourly wage are very poor at doing. I salute the true American farmer (not the corporations purchasing their lots). Your parents are rare in this age. I think you're very blessed to be raised by them and to be learning a lot of things the RIGHT way!

Re: Toots? (11 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Many thanks for the update deadstring! I've been taking calls from Lousianna for work. First and foremost I want to say, I am AMAZED at how kind these people are. Faced with damaging storms, power outages for days on end in 90 degree weather, no cable service and no specific date or time when they can expect it back on, they are STILL SO KIND on the phone! Those that have had service, suddenly have their service shut off (likely a temporary disruption to allow repairs, but temporary could last hours or another day as lines are repaired) they are still SO KIND. Several of us were chatting last night, how pleasureable it was to take calls from the area instead of... lets say... Rhode Island area as an example (nothing against Rhode Islanders, just that in general they are very loud and enjoy swearing at tech support, refusing to take the only answer I have available, and blaming me personally for thier issues rather than the "thank you Maam" I get from those in New Orleans- I do love listening to them yell at each other though. Those Rhode Islanders are quite comical).
Anyhow... my point is, many had power out starting Tuesday and some are still without power and ultimately all utilities that go along with having power. So, my thoughts are surely with NELA and his family as well of course as some super awesome good thoughts for the quick recovery of his current illness. I wish I could send him some chicken soup, although I have a feeling with the kindness of folks in that area that he's probably already got 3 pots of it brought to his doorstep.

Work. They managed to, at the last minute, schedule us for yet again additional training from noon on Mon-Thurs. I would have worked the evenings anyhow (and will all weekend), but ... ya know... I love the company I work for (NOT). sigh. ENJOY your Holiday guys!!!! At least Jim's got Labor Day off (YAY UNION) so he can hang with the kids Monday.

Sorry to hear about the bad news of it. Depression is no joke. If it gets to the point where you're not getting up and getting dressed for far too many days in a row, don't hesitate to seek some additional medical help with it. BTDT. On the other hand, I'm really glad to hear you've got some options and you're considering them. That's reason to look forward to a new experience.

McAffee and Norton are horrible. I found Avast was very heavy. I use windows live security essentials as well, and I run threatfire free in the background. since switching to widows security essentials, threatfire hasn't found anything. Every now and again I also run malwarebytes. It is THE go to for removing rouge viruses that Mcaffee and Norton let in and can't remove. It's also free.

Thanks. I was hoping I wouldn't be missed too much. I'm sorry. I've been popping in now and then. I appreciate being missed though. August 21st - 9 years ago I had a stillbirth, there is a lot of JUNK that goes along with her death/birth. So, I tend to just kinda um... retreat into my "happy place" (or dark place, depending on how you want to look at it) in August. I'll be back and regularly on Chordie again as my usual chipper self in a few weeks.
Truly, I appreciate that you noticed and missed me. Thank you very much.

Stupid people. Or maybe better, those who CHOOSE ignorance about something that they would LIKE to make work for them.
I'm all for folks trying to get with the times. I know technology moves way too fast for some, but I seriously think that there should be a TEST that people have to take before being ALLOWED to purchase a computer or other "complicated" electronics (HD tv's, cell phones, e-readers, digital cameras, etc). If these people don't pass the test, then they should be required to take a BASIC class and pass it before being allowed to make the purchase. I can't stand the phone calls from family/friends who say, "My computer isn't working right, can you come check it?" only to find out that they've got a message about updates. Updates are pretty simple, follow the directions on the screen. "Oh it does that ALL the time, and it messes everything up!" YEAH... cuz you NEED TO DO THE UPDATES! These same people don't know how to check email (although they've been shown about 10 times), they don't know how to get on the internet. They can't comprehend the virtual file system of a computer and have NO CLUE what WI FI is, yet they seem to THINK they NEED it (and when things don't work right for them, somehow I am the one that has messed things up). When trying to trouble shoot over the phone, you have them unplug things and plug them back in, they say they've done it but no go. You get there, and lo and behold they NEVER DID IT.
Likewise - I work in cable tech support. If you have NO CLUE how to change the input settings on your tv and can't grasp the concept AND refuse to use the proper cables that acutally SUPPORT HD ... you shouldn't HAVE an HD TV!
Sorry.... this may be more of a rant about stupidity than a peeve, but it is a HUGE annoyance on a regular basis for me. At my job, the motto is "people are stupid, and they lie". A monitor and a tv are NOT the same things. A modem and a router are NOT the same things (unless you have a gateway), you cannot get HD programming with just a coax cable from your box to your tv (yes, you can view HD channels, but you're NOT viewing them IN High Def quality), do NOT throw your TV remote in the garbage just because you bought a universal (universal remotes cannot do EVERY FUNCTION that your TV remote can), and cable tech support does NOT mean TV tech support (call the manufacturer if you don't know how to work your tv, they are alllll different), no Tech support cannot give you massive discounts you MUST call BILLING or SALES for that, if you don't pay your bill and get shut off, don't call TECH support JUST PAY YOUR BILL.
Tech support sucks. People only call when they have a problem. There. I'm done with my rant. LOL!

Well, Jim and I had some yummy wings... but the guy hosting the open mic didn't show up until well after 8:30 (we were told he'd start at 8:30). Then he LEFT! We waited around a while longer. When he got back he seemed to be baked. After a while we finally asked him when he was starting, or going to set up. He said he usually doesn't start until around 10PM! It was 9:30 at that point. 10pm on a Thursday night, when Jim has to be up at 4AM doesn't work so well. I'm guessing there's not a whole lot to the open mic at this location, but more just a guy playing and singing. So, it was a bust. I should have joined you guys instead. Live and learn.

Sorry to hear about all the stress. Soooo glad to hear you've gotten a good solid answer and a soft landing plan. I'm still being pushed and shoved in my position to do things that I simply feel are not possible. I've been talking with HR for over a week now, and am starting to look elsewhere as I'm not so sure the stress is worth it. Chin up, everything happens for a reason!

I was actually thinking of you guys and our good times yesterday. I had a little issue with Skype and their billing and my premium membershipis currently cancelled. The issue was on their end, not mine. I'm not sure if I want to trust them and try it again. BUT since Jeff has an account, we're good! YAY!
However, I was thinking of heading out to check out a local open mic tonight. Now I'm faced with a decision. hmmmmm... I'll see what's going on. I've been meaning to check out this open mic for MONTHS now. I think I may still go and if it's a bust I'll see you guys tonight. If not, then you'll see my stories tomrrow!
So, if I don't make it, have FUN and Jeff will have to play the 4 Non-Blondes song for me!
