I have 2 questions about Pink Floyd:

1. Do the members have children who may "take up the axe or keyboard and sticks" as it were; and

2. Is there enough material "in the can' to satisfy us die-hards for a long time? I fear not, since they spent soooo much time on the road.

And I will throw in one more question, since I cannot leave well enough alone:

3. How long was an average Pink Floyd show? (I have never seen them live - sadly)

Thanks

Bill

Okay, now this is where I got the music/chords: The Kinks. Can anyone help me fix this?

By the way, I do have cataracts and they're do to be fixed next month, but this song is NOT about Dondra:

This song is so surreal, she could use a glockenspiel and I'd still focus in on the words.

In the words of Kris Kristofferson, "She's been readin' my mail." smile

If we were still doing our compilation cd, "The Best Of Chordie" or whatever we were going to call it, I'd want that tune on it. Just my opinion.

Bill

PS: Graham, with Jandle's permission why don't you and the other guitarists give it a shot, the way y'all did with my Sunshine?

I can also see this as a duet. Maybe a back and forth, Jan? May need some editing/rewriting.

In short, I am this song's fan! smile

Oh, yeah, about the song itself: Can I skip one of those two quick changes at the beginning of each line?

Thanks

Bill

ETA: I see a couple of minus semitones which will let me do that, but don't think I can do the pluses. Anyone have anything else to suggest?

And anyone else who wants to take a look.

I first heard this song in the movie "Kelly's Heroes", and when I heard the words, dangit, if I didn't tear up a little bit. Another one that hits damn close to home.......

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReUaQlsZZ5I

All that stuff that hits home, makes me wonder, "Just what kind of person are you, Bill, that every line you see written here seems to be about you?"

I don't know what I was thinking. It just kept sounding more and more discordant and I wound that key up more and more, and then, with a "~TWANNNGGGG~" which would have made Duane Eddy proud, there it went.

I have an onboard tuner with my Pocket Rockit and I can tell by the "waves" I hear when the flats and sharps are heard when I am in tune, but not this time. Maybe I need to go "visual", guys? Problem with visual, my eyes are now so bad, I have to use a magnifying glass! Ain't I a mess????? smile

Thanks

Jandle,

First of all, that song "spoke" to me. Every stanza had something written to which I personally could relate and that voice of yours - I don't know what electronics you use - was just as if my wife was standing there calling me to task. I don't know if anyone else has told you this yet, but you really need to explore those feelings of yours with the media of music - it's really mesmerizing and makes you want to listen.

I'm babbling, I know, but as to a chorus: I play guitar and a "bridge" "chorus" or whatever you want to call it, just is natural to me because it's usual? Does that make sense?

If singing without a chorus is your style, then by all means, let it be that way. Let the story be told as it is and in this instance, what would you even use as a chorus? Change keys and go off in a different direction?.

Please son't let that "musicator" label throw you, okay? I'm no better than the rest of these folks. All I know is how your song made me feel, and it got to me and made me realize some things I may need to change.

Like I stated before, I tend to babble sometimes, but hopefully you made some sense out of what i wrote.

Good Night!

Oh my. Those are some "let me get right to the point" lyrics, Jandle and I like them a lot. Let me get right on the Cloud and listen.

Thanks!

Bill

ETA: All my comments about this beautifully performed tune are on Sound Cloud. I hope all of you get a chance to hear its haunting melody.

I just thought they were good learning songs, Peter - especially the one by The Stooges. I like when they change keys. I have a whole cd with the Stooges singing and that one is on there.

But can you imagine some cowboy riding his horse among the cattle trying to sing that? I bet the other cow-pokes would give him some hoof and mouth disease if he didn't shut up. ! smile LOL!

Maybe i"m missing the point?

We're doing great, my friend! Man! I LOVE getting "mail" from you and the others! It's the first thing I do when I go online every morning and if there's nothing to answer, then I write something myself.

Anyway, Dondra says "hey" and she got a smile when she saw what you wrote about her hurting yourself with "Cattle Call". smile

Have a great day!

Whoopsie on 'The German Boy"!!!!!  wink

Of course I didn't mean that Zurf or any of y'all are ignorant and wouldn't come to my house and should have stated that in my post, but I......... forgot........ to make that clear.

Besides, I think that the Chordians who care about me already know from my writings the degree of dementia (lovingly called "batguano-ness" here) I have. wink

Sorry, I didn't make that clear, but I'd still make a citizen's arrest if we lived close-by and y'all didn't come over, river folk and all! smile

badeye,  I don't know if you'd consider The Alabama Blind Boys' music blues or spiritual, but here they are doing an old Stones tune called "The Last Time" which is rythm and blues, and what Ry Cooder once called "Chicken Skin Music". I'm a huge fan of theirs as well as The Mighty Clouds Of Joy, and I'm not religious.

Go figure. smile

Enjoy.

It's time for your morning voice lesson! Click on the link below, get out yer git-tars and either sing along hitting the same notes or sing harmony with Mr. Eddy Arnold. (I used the lyrics from this site because it's got the chords and lyrics all the way to the end).

Okay, follow along with me...... woo, woo, woo-oo-oo-ooh (and stuff)

It's called "Hank Williams: The Show He Never Gave". It runs about 86 minutes, it's a plain DVD (not BluRay) and it stars, as Hank, a Candian Actor "Sneezy Waters" or Peter Hodgson.

I want to tell you about this great docu-drama, because the biopic "Hank Williams: I Saw The Light" starring Tom Hiddleston is about to be released, and although it promises to be a great movie, "The Show......" was the first ever (begun in 1977) stage stage show we had featuring a Hank (impersonator) and I want you to have something to compare it to.

Here is the link to it on Amazon. It will be re-released (I saw it on HBO) and comes out Sept. 19th, 2015:

http://www.amazon.com/Hank-Williams-Nev … s+the+show

And here is the Wiki on Sneezy Waters aka Peter Hodgson: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sneezy_Waters

To buy with postage "The Show...." ran me $10.01. I think every musician who liked Hank should have a copy and I state that this is not spam nor am I affiliated with the movie or amazon. I only wish! It's the best 10 bucks you may ever spend.

All the best

Your Friend

ETA: Again; Not spamming you, but you may want to buy the Waters' version before the movie comes out, as it is sure to  increase in price at that time. The film opens November 27th
