You should be able to change the default setting to ukulele but that option is showing an error message at present. I have reported it and will let you know when it is fixed.

A fine tribute to a lost friend Russ.

The only way that I know how to do that is to change it before saving it to a songbook.

My girlfriend left a note on my Marshall amp: "It is NOT working. I cannot take anymore. I am leaving".
Well, I switched on the amp, flicked the standby on, cranked up the volume and hit a chord..... PERFECT.
What the heck is she talking about?????
Hi Pronan,
I have passed your comments on this to Per, the site owner, for him to investigate.

Roger
well impressed roger, but are you reading the words from a sheet of paper stuck to the guitar?
I did have the words and chords taped on the side of my guitar only to find that I could not read it so I put my songbook on the table instead (big cheat).
Having just left the weekly practice I have been told that I am to to take the lead vocal for this song so I will now have to learn it by heart.
Roger
Thanks but in all fairness Tiago is a far better guitarist than I. He is the best lead guitarist in the Algarve.

Try going into the Public books. In "Absolute Beginners" there are 451 books which should give you plenty to work on, there are also 1001 books in the "Easy Songs" category.
Going through those should keep you out of mischief for a while .

As you have changed your e-mail address I need you to e-mail me privately with the address that you used for 'neocaster' and I will sort it our for you.

Need I say more?

If you look on the right of any song you will see the print tag and when you click on it you will come to the page that I showed earlier to show how to move the position of the grids (chords). There are three capital "A's" of differing sizes. the larger one will increase the size of the print nd the smaller one decrease it. Click on the word 'print' to print the individual song.

By the way the 'reports' are for letting us Moderators know about misdemeanours (bad language, spam, racism etc)
I have just taken a song, transposed it from F to A and then saved it in one of my song books. On re-opening my songbook I do have the transposed version there, so it is working fine for me. Any editing that is wanted or required can then be performed in the songbook
Yes there is a new server and there have been some behind the scenes changes to the way that Chordie works which has presented a bug or two but they seem to be ironed out now.
If you are still having a problem then write to Per at admin@chordie.com giving precise details of your problem and information of your operating system and browser.

There are 3 versions of this song on Chordie: http://www.chordie.com/song.php/songart … index.html

Brilliant. Thanks Jeff.

As Jim states there are many Brit ex-pats here but also many other nationalities too. In the choir we have mainly English plus Welsh, Scottish, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Irish and German members.
We have a 4 piece band, Tiago (19) the best lead guitarist in the Algarve, his brother, Bruno (17) on bass, Yvonne (21+) on keyboard and myself on rhythm guitar.
Our Thursday evening 2 hour practice is great fun, we hold it in the basement of one of the members who puts on drinks for us at the midway break and makes some absolutely wicked cakes.

If I read this right you are expecting something that will not happen. A PC, or laptop, is not an amplifier so you cannot get sound direct from the mic to the speakers. But you should be able to use a programme like Audacity (free) to record and then playback.
If I have misunderstood your initial post then please accept my apology.

Many of you will seen, or heard, me mention the Algarve Rock Choir before well we had our first professional gig on Saturday at a 50th birthday party. We met at a coffee shop before the gig and gave the patrons a rendition on "Heart of Gold" and here is the result: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJ2Y9efikC4
I hope you like....

The vid was taken on an i-phone by someone who had not used one before and shot it as portrait instead of landscape but I managed to find software to rotate it.

Pondweed,
I hope that you are following my previous advice by e-mailing this info to Per and that you are only putting this so that other know what is happening.

Thanks for answering. So how do you chose and use a strumming pattern? Lets say given the example above, lets say you use 1/8 pattern of D - DU - UDU. Do you just break this in half?
Is that the correct strumming pattern for this song?
In any case when learning a new song I think it is a big mistake to worry about strumming patterns. All you need to start is the basic 4 or 3 beats (for 4/4 and 3/4 respectively) to ensure you can sing the song and fit the chords in the right place. Once you can do that, you can get the strumming right. Trying to do everything all at once is a recipe for disaster unless you are very experienced.
Roger.
The chords are supposed to be placed where they come in with the lyrics and the number of beats does not come into it at all. You really need to know the song, or listen and play along to work out the duration of each chord.
