Well we got the same game,, Ill tell ya what,, dont pick a song you already know.  I have been playing Blitzkerig Bob for years,, and the way this game is set if for you to do it by the chords they sayLOLOL so on a song I have been jamming for yrs, it said I stunk.  It uses the 5 cords in the first position for E and A but if you do a E5power chord at the 7th fret it wont clock it.  The games are kinda fun but then game Lag hits when you get to the fast parts of the them.
Still trying to sort it out.

Nice deal on the guitar!

Well he has his front teeth so if it was METH it has not gotten the best of him yet. Hope this was a real wake up call for him!

Great song for chord changes.  Is she playing it in F or did her teacher transpose it?  Great song to learn open F to C.

Chordiestock is looking sooo good today!
I asked my son if I could use his guitar for my trip,, he didn’t give the correct amt of enthusiasm, LOLOLOLOL
ill try againin a week or so.

My #1 improvement method,, find people who support and challenge you, yet help you to improve.  Maybe this is why chordie is so great. and skype jams are not bad either,, but actually being in a room with other players,, this will improve you with out you even realizing it.

The biggest jump in my ability was when I was still in High School.  I played in a basement band with 3 other guys who were older than me, at the time At the time I was still pretty new to guitar.  they showed me a song and what my part was to be,, and we took off.  If I got lost, Mike (lead vox lead guitar) would notice, turn to me and start playing my part and I would follow an get back on track.

So, finding someone to play with is the best in my opinion.  but all the other suggestions are great also. (Iam not big on scales and lead soooo LOLOL)

I know you will enjoy that area.  Its not Atlanta or the south as you know it, but MD and VA are really nice and make sure you jump the borders and hit WV. Its amazingly beautiful there.  (Im a bit partial due to being born in WEST BY GOD VIRGINIA!) lol

Not to mention when you guys see me at chordie stock,, by the latter part of the evening you will totally “get” the reasons for which I became Magoo.

Which particular flight deck were you stomping around on?  I stomped around on USS-Ranger (CV-61) for a long time.

You're extra cool for riding the Triumph.

Well thank you!  Ill email you a pic of it.

As Nao says I remember writing this at one point but will do so again along with the other name that my military buddies used.
The Beamer does not come from BMW as one might think.  I ride TRIUMPH (you UK gents may appreciate that) this would come from me being a Star Trek nut.  My 1st riding vest had a Next Generation Comm. badge pin on it.  On my very first rally with my in-laws MC, we stopped for snacks at a cool watering hole, As I turned around and looked at my father-in laws table of old school biker friends they were laughing (I thought what now, I had already gotten enough jabs for riding a Yamaha, my first bike) As I walked over to the table they all said "BEAM ME UP SCOTTY" (first name being Scott of course). So I became Beamer. Your road name is not something you make up, it’s given.   Over a few morphs of that I finally was able to buy my Triumph and the nick name from way back in the war days for that bike is Trumpet. So my e-mail is beamerstrumpet.  I now have a original command badge patch on my vest lol  I want to get a new leather guitar strap and it will have my Triumph and another command patch.

As for my first 8 years in the military I was MaGoo, morphed to Magoover,  which was a combo of MacGyver and which was also the name we gave to Swiss army knives and Leatherman tools. I like doing the 1/2 step down, just keep a 12 string Capo around if you need to play in standard.  A regular one will work, but not as well.

I would have liked to see him with a Novice or one of us.   That guy was a really good guitarist,, I think it would have been a better show if Joe took the average player, and in one hour had them doing something they never dreamed of doing.  But Im sure the producers of that contest would not have allowed that.  does not make for good TV.

I have mentioned befor that im not impressed with the Silk and steels.  Something is just not there, espically on my 12 string.  I might restring just the primary 6 with something more traditional and leave the silks on the smaller ones and see how they sound.

As far as the Elecrics, my "go-to" is still GHS Boomers.  I have never messed with flat wound or any other type.  a few yrs ago I steped up from 9's to 10s so I could have a fatter sound.  I am thinking on my next set up on the SG Ill go back to 9's and have it set for them.

Probably much to everyones surprise, I was sober both times! LOLOL  Jerome, what I sent you was what I was trying to re-create.  I had not touched a single setting, EXCEPT that I was now running through my amp  and not line-in to the mixer and headphones.  I wanted to pratice to the first drum beat. (BTW drmms,, heavyier smile ) Then  it just became a hour of testing all kinds of stuff and playing diff songs an nothing sounded good no matter what.

So last Wed night I made some recordings and it sounded really good,   Tonight I tried again just to play and get that sound,, no matter what I did I could not light that fire a second time!  granted the first time I was running line in to my mixer, but out of the amp it just was not the killer sound I have on disk.

So then no matter what setting I tried, nothing sounded good.  Maybe it was me, maybe I was trying to force it, I dont know.

Awwwww, I think its a collective blush smile

Jeff told me he was in his 20s but changed his mind and asked for the cash instead LOLOLOL

TF ( and anyone else)
What is your favorite song for flanger and Phase?
My must have Flanger song of the day, back b4 I knew what it even was or could be was "Rocket Ride" by Ace. and for a more modern application I like Zack Wilds  Crazy Horse. another song where the unit is being mercelessly flogged!   He just has that thing working its butt off! My FL-9 doesnt vary to much once I found that sound LOLOL (and I have discovered its a pretty coveted analog unit, used prices are way more than I got it for, usedlololol)
(there are so many great songs using the flanger im not going to try to name any more LOLOL)
For Phase:
I like the way way Trower uses it in Bridge of sighs and Zep on The rover and THE SEX PISTOLES with Anarchy in the UK.

There is one effect, and I sware I heard it on a Sabbath into that I can not put my finger on, I always thaought was a phase but its clearly not,  it may be something through a Moog synth set up. Ill come back later and add to the the edit if I find it.
