That was really awesome. The 12 string is truly a requirement when it comes to a few songs... this is one of them. I forgot how much I love Extreme. Thanks for the reminder! Something for me to listen to today.

I switch my guitar position all the time - being small and having some shoulder issues myself. I believe the video of me playing "in my daughter's eyes" shows me with my dread in such a position, Zurf.
Glad to hear you've got enough instruments laying around that could be used to help you with the Martin. Funny thing - at first I kept going back to my dread because I liked the "boom" more in it - but after I stopped being so gentle on the Martin (it is a guitar after all, not a baby), I can get a good solid boom out of it. I'd hate to get rid of my other guitars because they look so nice on my wall... but I hate knowing someone could use them and they just sit there. LOL! If the music teacher at school felt comfy teaching guitar I'd donate them. Sadly, he's self taught in guitar and won't offer lessons.

Zurf, if I lived closer to you, and I thought it would help, I'd hand over my Epiphone and my Ibanez to help you with your trade in money on the Martin. Your comments on it helped cement the deal for me and I feel like I owe you. Good luck! I hope all goes well for you. I honestly don't ever pull my dread down off the wall anymore. The Martin is just so comfy.

I'm enjoying reading these posts. You all know I'm pro union. My dad was a member of and heavily involved in the BLE (Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers) while I was growing up, and my husband is a Union Ironworker. I too worked in a Union at one time. I was a member of the Teamster's Union over 10 years ago. Back then, I made the same wage I do now but also had insurance. It was still difficult then to support myself and my son as a single mom, but it sure was a lot easier then. I could never do it NOW at the same wage without insurance. I don't know how people can do the same job my husband does for a measely $10/hr and zero benefits. God bless them, and know this... that company is making OVER $20 more per hour off your work than the company that pays my husband (and the company that pays my husband is doing quite well). A little more into the workers pocket and a little less into the guy sitting in the fancy office chair, and this country would be a little nicer to be in for those that were ONCE upper middle class but are now lower middle class and teetering on being at poverty level.
I too agree, sometimes Unions go too far... don't get me wrong... there is no perfection or utopia... but there is "better" and "worse".
What's really sad about the whole Hostess debacle is the fact that, like Jerome said, someone got rich while the average Joe is now out of a job.

I like simple songs with simple chords... the words speak clearly. Lovely... now, we need to hear a recording so we know how it's supposed to sound/be played!

Wow, that's pretty. It's clearly played with a piano, but I could hear it on guitar... wish I could help you out with some chords. We do have some talent in there that will step up. Have patience and faith.

Peculiar! No clue, but it was a fun read nonetheless! GLAD it's sorted itself out. Perhaps, it was a matter of the guitar just not feeling whole and refusing to preform. I presume that is a female guitar.

Sorry I missed it guys! Friday I came down with this nasty cold... but was still required to do all mom duties. Yesterday, Jim came down with it and was "incapable" of getting of the couch. Somehow, although I still have the cold and feel like pooo, I still had to do everything. Couldn't have sang if I wanted, and the kids wouldn't have let me on. MISS YOU ALLLLLL!!!! NEXT TIME!

Re: What are your favorite movies (28 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Sandra Bullock movies, Julia Roberts movies and Bruce Willis movies. That covers just about every genre out there. The actors/actresses make the movies for me. As for all time favorites without those actors/actresses in them... Grease and Silence of the Lambs. Again - totally not related to any other specific movie type. I have no clue what that says about me. LOL!

My fingers are getting soft. My guitar has been in it's case hiding. I need to get it OUT! On the other hand, I do have plans for most of Sunday (morning into the afternoon - my 7 year old is on a competition dance team for the first time and apparently we need to dish out MORE money for EXTRA REQUIRED occasional classes. What did we get ourselves into? ahhhh!). But... let me know when, and I'll do my bestest to be there. I don't care if Skype/Microsoft listens in, as long as they aren't watching when I get drunk and rowdy and start taking the extra layers of clothes off (LOL - kidding guys - if you've been with us on skype, I generally start with a sweater and move down to MAYBE a t-shirt if drinking enough Jack to warm me! ha ha).

Re: Anybody know anything about cats. (25 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Very sorry to hear that the cat had to be put down. It's a sad feeling. We had to put one of our kitties down a while ago due to illness, knowing what the vet would say I meanly sent my hubby to do the dirty deed. I had to take his dog into the vet to put the dog down when he was to the point of pain causing him to snap at the kids and losing his functions in the house without getting up from where he was laying. Neither of us looks forward to doing either of those things again any time soon. Glad to hear that Guppy is taking it fairly well. Sorry to hear your wife is not. Furry family members.

I didn't even listen to it, because I know I'm not heavy.... however, once my hubby is around I'll test it out on him and let ya know what he thinks Beamer. He's been known to enjoy some good angry thrashing.

Re: Anybody know anything about cats. (25 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Sounds like kitty's getting old. All good advise above. Check to make sure her belly doesn't seem to be getting bigger while everything else points to weight loss, as that could be a very terrible illness. Vet is a good idea, but it sure could be that she's just annoyed with the dog being in her home. Cooked or raw meat is a good idea. If she doesn't get excited about that, I'd be quite concerned.

if anyone were to hack my webcam, they'd see me sitting in front of my computer while computing. Funny thing about laptops, they have a TOP! I always close mine when I'm not actively using it (and I don't keep my laptop in my bedroom where I undress). Jeff, I think we're safe. I have a funny feeling they may possibly be targeting those living in dorm rooms, not us old people!

Hmmm... that's frustrating! I don't use that myself. I go to the bottom of the index page and then click on "show recent posts" - I found a long time ago that it gives me more than the "posts since last visit". Other than that - I'd send an email to Per to see if he can clear it up if it continues being an issue for ya!

FASD - It looks like you've placed this link to a direct download of a song.
I have found a link for the song to be listened to directly online here instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LK48dtjRl4
A direct download may scare some members away from helping you. Hopefully this youtube link will get a little more help instead.

I was Marilyn Monroe over the weekend at a Halloween Party - went to the wrong bar though. We were out for fun; had it been for the $$$$ prizes, we could have gone to the one where the owner has a major Marilyn love affair and I could have won. Ah well. Didn't think about it until it was too late.
The Kids had a blast last night! Got lots of candy - and we didn't pass any out, so I've got plenty of my own. Purchased the favorites of course for myself! LOL!
