Which is the top all-time NCAA college football national championship conference?

Listed below is the order of conferences from 1936 to present with the number of college football national championships in parentheses.

    * SEC -- (17)

    * Big 12 – (16)

    * Big Ten -- (13)

    * ACC -- (9)

    * Pac-10 -- (4)

    * Big East -- (3)

Looks like the ACC has won 9 to the mighty PAC 10's 4. The bottom 4 of the PAC 10 is like a group of Duke's - I'd love to play in that conference.

I've found facebook to be a great way to connect / stay in touch with distant friends and relatives that I had lost contact with. Sure, some folks abuse it, posting every little detail of their day - I just ignore those that get on my nerves. There are dozens of people I have reconnected with since joining FB and without it, I seriously doubt we would have ever gotten together. Just reading the almost daily posts from my nieces make it worthwhile - it gives us an easy means of communication on a much more regular basis than the 6 or 8 times a year I actually visit with them face to face.

Now, myspace - that's a site I never understood or bothered with.

I know the ACC had to add Florida State to it's ranks to get a championship caliber team, but other than that, any teams have a national championship claim?

No?

Although it was before joining the ACC, I believe the University of Miami have won a few (5!) National Championships. I believe Clemson won one in 1981. Going back further there was Maryland in 1953. So yea, I'd say there is more to the conference than FSU.

Now you're just talking crazy big_smile

Beer contains many beneficial carbohydrates. Without carbohydrates, you would not have hydrates and we all need hydrates. A 12 pack of hydrates is required for watching a good football game.

I wish you well in your "get fit" endeavor and you seem like the type of guys that sets his mind on something and usually succeeds.

Me? I'm not trying to run no marathon, I just want to button my darn britches.

I'm with you Zurf. After quitting smoking last month, I have started exercising a bit as my britches are getting tough to button. So far, I'm just spending 20 minutes a day on the treadmill, but I'm also thinking about changing to light beer.

Thought about it - ain't gonna happen - I can't stand light beer. I'll have to try to increase my time on the treadmill.

Good Luck Buddy!

A heck of comeback by the US to make it interesting. Great putt by Graham McDowell on 16 to close the door. Fun to watch.

I'm no poet, nor a songwriter, so I thought this best fit here in chat. All I can say is Toney is a good sport, it was great to speak with him tonight on the telly and I am thankful he didn't rub it in. It should be self explanatory.

Yea, You know I made a bet
With SouthPaw, that I severely regret
So now I’ve gotta post
That the team I respect the most
Are the Hokies from VPI

Though my guys were 4 and 0
And the game was played at our home
The boys from Tech came ready to play
And once again, I’m sad to say
I’m singing the Wolfpack Football Blues

The Pack was leading early, score 17-0
I had a feeling it wouldn’t last
The Hokies were strong in the second half
And moved the ball by run and by pass
I’m singing that Wolfpack Football Blues

One of these days before I die
I hope to see the Pack winning the prize
But even if that day never comes
I’ll always enjoy tailgating in the sun
And singing those Wolfpack blues

So the final score today
Hokies 41 – NC State 30
There’s always next year to play
And just maybe, next year I won't
be singing the Wolfpack Blues

WOOOOOOOO!

Hi jjhayden187 and welcome to chordie!

Art and Lutherie is part of the Godin family of guitars made in Canada. They are a well respected guitar builder and make many models from beginner to expert level, but are highly regarded from all aspects. Does it play and sound worth $100? I'd bet it does and really thats all that matters.

Here's a link to the Godin site - Click on A7L and maybe you can find some more info about your particular guitar.

I know another moderator here Guitarpix is a huge fan of the Godin line. Maybe he'll chime in with some more info.

I know we have many members from the UK and several from Wales. Wondering how many of you are following the Ryder Cup matches and for the locals, how is the event effecting you? Today was mostly a wash out with the rain, but viewing the late finish, the country looks beautiful.

I have some Welsh ancestry on my Fathers side, but really know little about the history and geography. It does seem to see a lot of rain!

Obviously, I am pulling for the US, but the Euro's have a stronger team it seems. With the change in schedule putting a larger emphasis on the foursomes, it's going to be a tough road for the US team.

I just look forward to a good match and hope it is close late into Sunday's singles.

Hi Cindy - Welcome to chordie.

My account is so overextended

I'm ashamed to admit

My credit card company just called

Said, "Leave home without it"

Are they rusty? If not, I'd say string 'em up and try 'em out! But you gotta play some old blues or country - them old strings ain't gonna take to well to playin' some new fangled heavy rap pop funk metal junk. smile

Good on ya bobwill - whatever works it's all good

I'm going on 3 weeks+ and have no desire to light one up. I feel better than I have in years (and surprisingly I think my voice is better too)

What has Tyler done that is musically relevant in last twenty years?

Dude - I was working up a detailed reply to this, but I realized it wasn't worth the effort.

What Tyler has done is influenced every single Rock vocalist for the past 30 + years and every single vocalist that will come after him. All others are copies of the greats that have come before them. Steven Tyler was one of the greats.

You were / are the frontman in one of the best Rock bands of all time (Aerosmith). I could overlook "Janie's Got a Gun", and "Love in an Elevator" figuring that after wasting all your dough on heroin, the guys needed to cash in. Even with those crap pop hits, Steven, Joe and the boys still rocked it live well through 90's and even the early 2000's.

But American Idol... C'mon Man!! - Steven, my buddy my friend -  you are a rock and roll icon - amongst the best of the best rock vocalists ever and the best that ever tossed a scarf around a mike stand. Now you are gonna replace the musical wanna bees that were Paula Abdul and Simon what's his name? C'mon man sad

This feels like Emmit Smith playing with the Arizona Cardinals. Montana with the Chiefs. Don't do it... C'mon Man!!

You were a hero... don't do it... please.. I'm begging you... C'mon Man!!!!

Thanks Ian - It's been a fun project and I'm glad to see it still moving. The map has been updated - link:

In just under 14 months, the package has been to 21 members and has traveled (as the crow flies) 66,235 miles.

It would be cool to see pics of the package as it transforms!

Thanks again everyone - for me anyway, these e-cigs have been amazing. There is no way I am going back to smoking. Here's a great article for those who may be trying to quit and are interested in the e-cig option.

I'm not going to attempt to explain what these terms mean (as I have no idea), but I believe they are "modes" of a scale. There is more information available at the bottom of the page here:
