I have to say being the resident metal head, I really miss good soloing. You dont hear anyone talking about guitar slingers these days.  some of my favorite solos are off From Judas Priest. Noteably the cover of Diamonds and Rust from Sin after Sin and Victim of change from Sad wings of Destiny.

For a current band I have to give it to Avenge 7 fold.  Their new album harkens their hero,,Megadeath and Iron Maiden (who to their own credit have many great solos).  Hail to the king pulls from Iron Maidens Wasted Years on the intro.  So there is hope yet, an dKirk Hammet keeps up the solos as wellas Dave mustain. (granted they are being who they are, just no one new can do it it seems)

I think I may have some of the emails still smile

DE and Jeff Gilpen have been my most consistantly great soundboards.  I write something and then sometimes after I have fooled with it all I can,, I send it to one of them.  Almost all the time I like all the suggestions.

Artie, +1 on your cycle is funny!

Easy, I would still be Proud of your friend.  Her changes are what suited it to her style, Your comment makes me remember thescene in THE JAZZ SINGER When the punk type dude is destroying neils song in the studio,, Neil says here let me show you how it was written,, does song,, and then punk guy says,,," PISS OFF I paid for it!"  or something like that.  I am sure it happens all the time.
Guy writes song,, Guy sells song, Producers and artist turn it 180 out from what the guy wrote. SOP.

I'm curious as to why the NFL doesn't insist that each year's Super Bowl be held in a facility with a roof. I know both teams will be playing in the same conditions, but as a viewer, I'd like to see both teams and players perform to the top of their abilities. Each year, the two "best" teams make it to this game, and it just seems a shame that fans may have to watch them "grind it out" in poor conditions, instead of seeing them be able to strut their stuff to full potential.

Just saying ....

NAWWW man I think for what they get paid, between all the ruels, that having it in the elements is what these "Men of steel" should be doing.  When I want to watch real football,, I go to you tube and pull up the 70s greatest moments in the NFL.   Playing in a near white out,, now thats showing desire! LOLOL

This game that I did not watch but for 5 min would have pissed me off had I wasted my time watching it.  Instead,, I tuned and played my Ovation 12er for 2 hours.

+1 on Russell's suggestion! great guitars for the price,, save your guts and body from the old one and you can swap out if you like the other pick ups better and the body can be put as a work of art

Russ,
are you using the free AVAST or the paid?  I used to use avast and AVG free, but they quit working so well after a few months,, I have used MS security essentials for a few years now and its really good + has its own fire wall.  I do let that one update on auto. Ever since Amy gave me the tipon MALWAREBYTES free, its been doing great also.I did pay for Error end, but man was that worth it. great customer support.  if you need a tune up let me know and ill connect you with a buddy who can do it remote from the DC area for 65 bucks.

Russ, you may still want to google it, I did and found out that two different software managers are trying to run, I went in and turned off oneof them and then all was good. it was happening with my chrome and firefox.

This info is geared to chrome, but if you go to settings in what ever browser your using, you need to go to your plug-ins and disable peperflash. its the root of your trouble.  Here is thelink for chrome http://browsers.about.com/od/googlechro … Chrome.htm

I did this and it cleared up everything for the whloe computer.  BTW  I also disable the windows automatic downloads from Microsoft.  Ever since then I have hardly had any problems and none with flash.

Hope this helps,
Beamer

That should be great Russ!  THis is the guitar I want from Rhondo http://www.rondomusic.com/halowhite2.html  I cant come close to affording a real Explorer.  I want to have old school pin ups (mainly Betty Page) all over it and some screaming pick ups, I may put active ones in for something different now that they can be had with out costing an arm and a leg.

As someone that colors hair and thrives upon the natural light to make decisions and make people beautiful... I HATE fluorescent lights and LED's.  You can buy "natural light" fluorescents, but they do not really show true colors unless you're positioned in exactly the perfect spot under the light.  It sucks to have to tell people to go outside and take a mirror to actually see what their hair looks like sometimes.  On the other hand, they are cheaper to run.  sad

I bought a $20.00 drill at wally and ordered the light and attachment wires.  This will give you something to shine on hair.

I dont know guys, personally I like the piggies.  I can now run 4 100 watt floods and only use 60 actual watts to light up my detailing area leaving me room for 3 more if I want them    Every so often I have to fire up my 400 watt halogen work light off the same outlet + run my buffers, and it does not strain my breakers.   I have not used a incandeant bulb in a long time. , most the house is converted also. if not the piggies, to LED.
