i remember a song that started papa papa ooh mow mow papa ooh mow mow i think it was the surfing bird but i dont remember the artists who recorded it.

I don't remember the name of the band either, but I remember the name of the singer who did the low parts for them was "Bowzer."

"Papa Ooh Mow Mow"  was orginally by California Doo-Wop group The Rivington.
Also the Trashmen uesd it in the 60's for they hit "Surfin' Bird"

Hi BBDGus
I've played for over twenty five years and in that time I've just about tried most froms of Guitar playing. From Bach to Pop. (Not being much good hasn't stopped me trying) smile
But I do feel finger picking is well worth the effort to learn as it brings a whole lot of variation into art of playing. Also it makes the Guitar stand out as an instrument in its own right.
Walls come and go with any art form it just requires a love of what you are doing and practice as you have already said and some advice as have been given in the replies.
good luck.

I'm pretty laid back about learning new songs as it's only a hobby for me just fun.
There has been one piece, my nemisis I call it that's  Mason William's "Classical Gas" and on and off over the years I've tried to master it and never really got it down.
Well what I'm getting to is.
I went back to it recently and after a while of up and the fret board I felt that old feeling my ring finger. It had developed a blister. I Been using a the side of the finger tip and a blister had developed there.
I've played the guitar for years on a regular basis so finger tips are tough but apparently still not immune from beginers pain.
OUCH...

My favorite Christmas song is Greg Lakes "I believe in Father Christmas"
As it more or less sums up the modern day values of Christmas.
and it's a great song.

Lena this song takes me back to my RC upbringing singing in the choir at school and the Nativity Plays and such. Nothing like childrens choir with smiling happy faces singing their little hearts out.
A nice song expressing all the right sentiments.

Well my children are all grown and gone. They have partners and children of their own. Growing up they have given me and my wife alot joy. Also it must be said a little sadness for who in a normal life can say that bringing up children is always a bed of roses. We have lots of wonderful memories and the grand children are a pure delight. To be a Father and Grand Father has been one of the most wonderful things that has happened in my life.
As for tips on Parenting.
My Children have never ceased to surprise and amaze me though the years.
Never underestimate them or take them for granted.
