The day after Christmas is called Boxing Day in the UK and is a Bank Holiday. I think that traditionally it was the day servants got presents from their employers. Yup! here is Wiki's info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_Day

By the way, no question is dumb. If you do not know then the smart thing is to ask; the dumb thing is to keep silent. smile

I found this which says I was half right smile but explains the publishing rights situation pretty well:  http://www.snopes.com/music/artists/jackson.asp

I think that Sony bought most of the Beatles songs rights from Michael Jackson, but I may be wrong.

You realise that you have all actually died and are in an alternative reality. It is only because you cannot believe it has happened that you think that you are still here and that nothing has changed.

Roger, the Immortal Moderator.

H Gina,

I am afraid that you cannot change your username, but I can. Send me an e-mail and can do it for you. The only drawback is that you may lose your Songbook but if you are prepared to take that chance let me know exactly what you want. As you can see from mine, spaces and capital letters are permitted.

There is also some help in this 'Sticky': http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic. … 462#p66462

I have just tried and I cannot get it to work neither. I have contacted Per (the site owner) and informed him and I will let you know when he replies.

Go into 'Resources' and look at the bottom of the page for 'Change settings (instrument/tuning)'. There you can change and save to mandolin settings.

You can have multiple songbooks.  Start a new one.  I had that problem too.

Also, it would be helpful to start a new thread in the future when you have a completely new topic to address.  To do that, from the forum view where you can see all the topics listed, click on the New Topic button at the top of the appropriate forum.

Hi Rod,

F.Y.I. I use Vista and I.E.9 on a laptop, and Win7 and I.E.9 on a PC, and have no problem.

I am afraid that Per has no other ideas as to why the transpose is not working for you (clearing the cookies is normally the fix). It should work, and is working for everyone else, so if you do happen to find out what is causing your problem please let us know as it could help someone else in the future.

Sorry I cannot be more helpful,

Roger

OK Rod, I do not know the answer (although Dino may be on the right track). I will write to Per (the site owner) who may be able to offer some assistance and I will post any reply from him here in this thread.

The print icon is still there but I guess you just cannot see it. Reduce you screen resolution by pressing the 'Ctrl' and the '-' and I think you will find it again,

After reading the initial post I looked for the song but I could not see it. I only got this message: Sorry. Someone has asked for this song to be removed from Chordie. The removal request was received 2009-06-19 14:15:00. If you think this removal request is invalid, please contact support@chordie.com.

So according to this the song had been unavailable for three and a half years but if it is visible to you can you please post the URL where you saw it. Thank you.

What exactly is happening? I have checked with my songbook and I find that I can transpose and the transposition will remain fixed even after I have logged out and back again. I believe that this was one of the problems you were having. Are you able to transpose and then find that it is back to the original key when you return later? Or are you unable to transpose at all? What operating system and what browser are you using?

I repeat, you have asked twice, both times I have answered any you have acknowledged both of my replies.

If the answers were not the ones you were looking for then re-ask the question but do not accuse me, or anyone else, of ignoring you. If you answer as though it is OK then you cannot expect any further action.

At the end of the day the problem has to be with your PC or your actions. It is not a Chordie problem otherwise no one would be able to transpose and there would be 100's of queries.

Try clearing all your cookies as they can sometimes cause peculiar problems.
