Although her death is tragic, I think it sad that over 90 people are murdered in Norway and the media spends so much time talking about the death of a junkie singer.

This tune by Fred Eaglesmith sums up the lifestyle of these performers who flame out early:

That is so true. It so sad what happened over there.

I don't recall being nieve enough to be fooled.  My little brother didn't have x-ray glasses but he did purchase some sunglasses (he was about 8 years old) with mirror on the INSIDE of the glasses to see behind him while we were in Daytona for vacation.  My sister and I were disgusted that he was looking at the gals in string bikini's without making an effort to turn his head, I think my dad was jealous!  LOL!

Can you tell me where I can buy the glasses?:D

Guitar legends like Steve Vai and Joe Satriani are some of my favorites. As well as Tommy Emmanuel and Keith Urban.

A very talented singer & songwriter - so sad to die at 27, but sort of inevitable...

You're right there. I mean, here's someone who people respect and like, and she throws her life away with drugs and alcohol. It just seems so stupid.

Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Brian Jones, and now Amy Winehouse. All that talent wasted.

One other thing - decide what type of music you want to play prior to your leaaon and make the instructor aware of that. But keep it slow.

When I first started learning, I didn't know what type of music i was in to. I just loved the sound of the guitar.

Are you trying to teach yourself or do you have a teacher?

I find it harder and harder to cope with TV advertising as I get older.  I can listen to and enjoy the loudest Rammstein track on my headphones but a vacuous advert using flashing images and chirpy, happy music gets me grabbing for the tv mute button.

It always seems that the ads are louder than the programme itself. You're sitting down watching your favourite program, it goes to ads and suddenly the TV's blaring in your face. Annoying.

If you have a particular song that you want to play, try listening to it on youtube, or maybe finding a cover. That way you can see the chords (if it is a cover) or hear when the chords change and also listen for the rhythm pattern. Hope this helps.

I can wait until I get my electric guitar (still saving up for it) then I can annoy other people with noise instead of them annoying me!
