It is starting to look like I can make it. Does this mean that I will have to deal with other peoples funny accents??

I buy amps too. A lot of times it is a case of right place at the right time.

An Epiphone De Luxe Masterbilt.  A big Arch Top.  Pics on FB. Normally I shy away from Epiphones. Acoustic Arch Tops were never my thing. I never cared for how they sound. This one changed my mind altogether. It caught my eye. As soon as I picked it up, it felt special. I played it for quite a few minutes. In typical JJJ fashion, you can guess the rest. If you think of Epiphone`s as being cheap beginners guitars, try one of these out. It will definitely change your mind

I promise that I will not buy A Martin D 18. There is a Rain Song that caught my eye though.

This time it is a Gretsch Black Falcon Acoustic-Electric. After selling My USA Tele and MIM Strat, I chose that one. I played a White Falcon Acoustic and didnt like the feel of it. The Black Falcon Acoustic felt a lot better. Except for color, they are identical guitars. Every guitar is different though. This was proof of that. I still have a store credit towards whatever I choose next. It is still at the store because they had to order a case for it. My next stop today was in a rather unsavory section of Worcester. I would rather wait a couple of days than find it stolen out of mt car.

Every time I say no more, ................ Sometimes I will find a guitar that is dirt cheap with a good hardshell case. So I buy it for the case. One time I had to buy the guitar and amp for $30.00. I wanted the amp. The amp was worth a lot more. I sold one for $100.00 and took another guitar in trade. I listed it at $150.00 hoping to get $100.00. That is when the items come to me. Lol.

Do you really want me involved in this conversation??  First it has to catch my eye. Then I look at the price. Is it good enough for me to make a profit or at least break even if I decide to sell??. I always do research with my phone. Believe it or not, I walk away from a lot more than I buy. How does it play and sound?? If it feels good in my hands.  Is it a brand that I want. I mostly try to find Harmony, Kay, Silvertone and the other cheap guitars from the 60s. Then I go for Yamaha, Gretsch and Fender. If it meets those qualifications, I will buy it. For those of you that have thought that I buy anything with strings, you couldn`t be more wrong. There is a lot of thought that goes into it. Half of the fun is the hunt.

That's a real beauty, JJJ ... gotta be a poem / song written around that one. With your permission, I'll see what I can come up with.

Great stories, everyone!

It is a Nick Lowe song. Not about guitars. That is where I got it from. The song ---- Ones too many and a hundred aint enough

How can you speak such blasphemy.?? The answer to your question is "All Of Them". .I did read the article. I am also thinning out my collection.  4 have been sold. 6 are on consignment.  The money from the consignment goes toward another guitar.

I've sold a few recently too.  I'm down to 11 now.

I`m aiming to get in the low 20s.  The one with the stickers isn`t going anywhere. It has served me well for 33 years.

I`m selling 4 more guitars. A MIA Tele California series. An old Harmony electric. Ibanez Artcore and a Yamaha SJ 180.  I have multiples of these models. The Harmony I took in trade for one I sold. The money is being saved as a store credit. It is going towards another guitar. Maybe a Gretsch or a Les Paul. Plus I need the room in my house.

Chris basically said last night that I am going even if she has to tie me up and drive me herself. I guess I should take that threat seriously. Lol.

She may have to drive the whole trip. Which means using her car. That`s a long ride to be a passenger. Especially without my car. It`s not bad now being chauffeured. The novelty is starting to wear off now. She lives a half hour away. I`m used to picking her up. Not the other way around.

I just restrung it. It will need a setup. It sat unused for around 30 years.  Gave it a quick clean. Will have to do a heavy duty cleaning on it in the future. As soon as I get a ride to a music store, I will take it for a proper setup. I am saving a lot of money on gas though.
