Sometimes a new set of strings on an existing guitar can quench the burning desire for a new guitar and save a whole bunch of money. i like Elixir also.

Thanks again!

Well I was mistaken about being able to separate the Chorus and Re verb on Mic and guitar. If either is in use it shows up on both channels. The amp itself is plenty capable of doing what I want.
As or the Behringer Mic I am more than satisfied.

That's because we don't know the words.

I thought the problem may have been on my end, glad to know my computer is ok. Also glad that admin is working to keep chordie online, I check chordie more than my e-mail.

What's an e-mail?

Hey, Deadstring. As you are getting familar with the new amp, getting everything connected, turned on, set up, mic stand in place, music stand where you can see with them bi-focals, big butt perched on your stool and with a big grin on your face, you strum your guitar and get no sound -
just reach down and plug the thing into an electrical outlet.

What? Whoa Nellie! You mean I have to have electricity? Guess I'll have to move to Texas or Arkansas.

Well the decisions have been made. Partly because of funds (or lack there of) and partly because of reviews and availability of dealers in my area. Everything should be in my possession within the next week. The mic will be a Behringer XM8500 (under $25) and a IBanez Troubadour T30 amp. (Just under $200) with Chorus on the guitar and reverb on the mic. Not a lot of bells and whistles but I think it will do what I want.  I appreciate all the replies
that caused me to search and find. Will give you a review after all is here. Al

No matter who sings it "Amazing Grace" comes out good. My Humble Opinion.
Non Gospel  I love Tony Joe White doing "Poke Salad Annie" and a million other artists and songs.

Thanks Songsterman.

Good advice on getting it in the air! Forgot about that.

Come on Beamer! Good advice from NELA? You must be kidding! With friends like him I don't need any enemies.

I have been doing the Nursing Home ministry for about 16 months and am considering buying an amp. Not to blow the doors off but to make being heard a little easier on me and perhaps my vocals would have a warmer sound with a little reverb.(For a 69 year old man I think I have a sissy sounding voice). Would 30watt be enough for a room 50ft. by 50ft.? It needs to be able to handle a guitar and mike at the same time.
Also I know nothing about mikes. Suggestions here would be welcomed also. AL

M.B. I hope Russ comes back and answers your questions but I noticed the note under the link does say that the pickup and hardware are included.

I still like the bubble bath in the fountain at city square. Didn't know it would make  so many bubbles.

I just came to smell the flowers   in someone's darkest hour. I don't even know the one they laid to rest. But anywhere theres a crowd and anywhere their crying loud. Just seems to be the place I like the best. Put Porter Waggoner's voice to that and you have a depressing song,

So glad to find out I'm not the only one.

I go to visit a friend in the hospital, find him with all kinds of tubes and things going to his body. He looks like he has just taken his next to last breath and I say "how ya doin?"

"chordie" has been working very well for me lately, no stalls or freezes and such and I appreciate the hard work that makes it that way.
