Terrific story, Topdown. Glad that all had a great time.
A few years back, my wife's best friend had a visit from her relatives from Scotland. There were two older ladies and a teenager and they stayed at our house because my wife's friend had only a tiny apartment. We enjoyed their excellent company for a week ending in a barbecue and a guitar jam. Our guests recorded the jam so their friends could enjoy.
A few years later my wife and I visited Scotland and got to stay a night at our friends house. They threw a party for us and invited some really neat neighbors over for eats and drinks. I had my Martin Backpacker with me and had to play "A Daisy a Day" at least three times for them as guests came and went. They just loved that song. It makes me cry. Made them cry too. I got to do more than a few silly songs to cheer us back up.

Type the lyrics out wide between words and double spaced. Print them.
When you come to the first chord, jot it in red over the syllable of the word where it hits. Do the same with the next chord and so on. It's a hassle but the only way to strike the chord changes on time.

Re: Marc Cohn Life Goes On (12 replies, posted in Song requests)
The guitar is tuned down 1/2 step so E is now E flat. The song is played in open Eb.
The chords are basically E, A and B shapes. I hear an F# at the end of a phrase.
The video only let me play it once without buying it. I think you can find the chords using E, A and B (plus F#) shapes if you tune your guitar down a half step.

MKM, I'll be there next jam after I get my rig going.
I love a picker's circle and that is the perfect format for Skype.
Got some tunes you may never have heard or may never want to hear again.

P.S. Did you like the C.D.'s?

I got a Skype account. I haven't figured how to use it yet.
I don't have a camera or mic yet but would like to observe today's jam.
Is that possible?

My wife says I can buy a second tuba if I can successfully demonstrate to her that I can play two at the same time.
I have one Yamaha dread acoustic, My 1961 Gibson 330 electric, and a Martin Backpacker I gave away but it came back to me.
My wife really likes my guitars and thinks I am set for life (guitar wise).

Epiphones are good guitars but the new ones I've played need a good professional set-up to play just right. If the set-up is right it can be so sweet to play.

I have to wait until Thursday when Casey comes over here. A 11, he is the techie of our entire family. He knows more about this accidentally than any of the rest of us know on purpose.
Will call,

I wonder if a video camera I have would serve to hook up to Skype.
I'd like to join you guys but I would love to use my Sony video cam to transmit video and sound as well as possibly record.
Any techies have any advice?

My buddy, John Reno wrote a song about a rich, obnoxious woman.
She still frequents the beach club where he knew her but I doubt she ever had a clue the song was about her. I saw her strut through the place one time when I played tuba there with John. He didn't even have to point her out to me. I could I.D. her at first glance.
No mistaking the overblown ego.
