I was just wondering if the original Random thread would still be alive???? Anyway here's a joke while my fingertips stop throbing.
Q - What do you throw a drowning guitarist ?
A - His amplifier.
Why guitars are better than women:
You can share your Guitar with your friends.
Guitars don't care how many other Guitars you've played
Guitars don't care if you look at other Guitars.
Guitars don't care if you buy Guitar magazines.
Your Guitar doesn't care if you never listen to it.
Your Guitar won't care if you leave up the toilet seat.
Your parents won't remain in touch with your old Guitar after you dump it.
Guitars don't insult you if you're a bad player.
Your Guitar never wants a night out with the other Guitars.
You can play your Guitar the first time you meet it, without having to take it to dinner, see a movie, or meet its mother.

Re: Today's artists versus the classics (14 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
I didn't mean to be Flippant, what that statement really meant was that even though I've heard of mozart, because I'm a musician, but I don't know mozart musically as I'm sure that not alot of the younger crowd "KNOW" him either, sure I've heard some of his music but let's just say it didn't inspire me. I like metal it's true and I'm sure classical has it's roots in all music, but to be honest when I listen to altar of sacrifice from slayer I really don't hear the classical roots of mozart in there! But I do give it up to all who've had a hand in expanding our musical horizins, even mozart!! Sincerely, young and dumb and my string just popped!!!!!!!!!!!
Zurf wrote:Riverdales wrote:Who's Mozart and what's his latest CD called!!
You don't want to be flippant about Mozart. If your avatar correctly suggests that you like metal music, you've GOT to like Mozart. He was the party hardy rock star of his day, he completely turned music on it's ear, AND the grand-daddy of all speed metalists, Yngwie Malmsteen, uses Mozart licks and musical techniques to this day! Everyone influenced by Yngwie is influenced by Mozart.
- Zurf
Well said Zurf....
Without the genuis of Mozart I doubt if modern music would have evolved in the same way..
I wonder quite how music would turned out without him..

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!! (20 replies, posted in About Chordie)
What is this supposed to mean. If you didn't like what I posted or you thought it was funny you didn't have to post anything! I was only showing my concern because I've had a bad experience with a virus(until I got Norton Internet Security) and I don't wish anyone go through the hassle of trying to get rid of it and the costs of taking care of this problem. The only thing we can do is make sure our security is up to date and working. Good Luck!! (binclintonusa)!!!!
THis is what NOrton security said!!!

Re: is it ok to learn on a cheap crappy guitar? (22 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
dguyton and Geo both make excellent points, on one hand you have a cheap guitar with a high action and beginners fingers, wich I could see why not alot of people stick with it. Yet on the other hand the high action, sore fingers, and hurting hands were like a war scar to me. It meant I was suffering so that I could get better. The pain was like a badge of honor and I was not going to let that guitar get the best of me, I would tame the beast. Eventually though my fingers stopped hurting and I had gained strenght enough to really hold down those bar chords. 1 year later after playing literally everday for a little more than a year I felt I needed something alittle better not too fancy but not too cheapo! So I bought a 300 dollar Fender From best buy's music store, and let me tell you my fingers had gotten so strong from the cheap guitar's high action that the new fender was like butter I could change from open chords to barre chords lighntning fast. Well that just gave me even more inspiration to keep playing, and so now here I am and even though I have a great playing guitar I still Have GAS(Guitar AcquisitionSyndrome). I want a Gibson SJ-200, but maybe next year!

Re: Is Chordie Safe!!! (20 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Good Point aabb, what if chordie's not the problem but, a user's computer is infected and once they linked onto chordie he or she may have inadvertently brought over a virus or virus's. I feel safe at chordie though, because I have antivrus and spyware, but these people making these virus' are coming up with new ways to spread the virus's all over the place. To all my chordians make sure your computer's are up to date with your virus and spyware protection. Peace.

Topic: Capo...How Tight!! (6 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
How to tight should a capo be. My capo has a sort of swing arm and a lock then you must screw it up to tighten, but I've always wondered if I was overtightening, and if so will it cause anyfret damage in time. I don't see any fret damage YET!!!!
