Thanks All for the positive feedback, helpful tips and humor. smile

I've been running through the 3 songs I will be doing at open mic tonight all day with the advise given and getting. I didn't get much work done lol Thankfully it is licensed so I can have a few light wobbly pops before I go on and a bunch more when I get home.
I do believe I can do this thanks to your support and the threat of Louisiana Booty Wuppin from Nela.

Thanks Again All, I'll keep you informed how it goes.

Hey Wayne Good to hear from you. smile
Thank you for the positive feedback, that means a lot to me. Being prepared is not one of my stronger suits as me in front of people is something I have always avoided. It's the going blank on stage that scares the bejesus out of me.
I wish you were in the front row...that would make it easier. smile

Cheers

Hi Pete smile
I hear you about getting through the first one...just gotta get through the first one. lol I just decided to go to the London Music Club tomorrow night as they have their long running open mic and I have to get my feet wet before Home County. I hope I'll feel better about myself after tomorrow night. God I hate singing into a mic...Oiyyy

Can't go wrong with Chordie members in my corner. smile

Cheers

Hi Phill smile

Hopefully you will hear it and see it as I am supposed to play it along with a few others at our local festival. If I make it there I am getting my brother to record it with my Zoom Q3...It is still unopened and in the box as I've had a 2 steps back kind of year.

Thanks for the read and the comments. smile

Cheers

The pleasure is mine Phill smile
The weather here is weird. Cool/Hot/Humid/Rainy/Sunny all on the same day... As for me I posted a tidbit in the Local Band and Me section that will explain more about me.

PS Great Song, Thanks for posting the lyrics.

Cheers

Since Christmas I've really been battling my anxiety/lack of confidence in myself. One of the things I did was to start attending a song circle held once a month. I would play one song and that would be it for the day as I would be so wound up from being out in public I would quickly retreat to the safety of home. That's not a bad thing cause in my heart I really want to beat this disorder (one day at a time they say). My problem is the person that was hosting the circle is the director for the Home County Folk Festival. Over the coarse of the 4 months I played when it was my time to play and on the last day she asked me to play 3 of my songs at the Home County Festival. I crapped my drawers and told her I would think about it. I explained my issues and she said no sweat...but please think about it. Two weeks ago I decided that I had to give it a shot so she set me up with a Mandy player that really liked my songs and wanted to work with me. I'll only have two practices with him as he is busy. We will be playing July 17. Home County draws 150,000+  people for the 3 days and I'm really getting bad vibes about this. I know it is in my head but I need all the help I can get on this.

Should I bring a barf bucket and stash it in my truck? lol I'm booking a weeks holiday before so I can relieve the pressure I get from work.
Any help/advise on this would help me out immensely as I'm sweating just typing this.

Cheers smile

Kenny

Hi Daddy,
I hoped that the emotion would come across on this one as it hopefully will one day be a part of a complete storyline/CD.
Appreciate the read and comments.

Hey Arc smile I did do the vanishing act for awhile there...a brain drain kinda thing. sad
Anywho Billy Walker is fictitious as is the story which is good cause I can write it how I see it. That's OK with the Chordpro thing as I'm guessing it would become very cluttered looking.

Thanks for the read and the comments

Gracias smile

You sure can write them out Daddy smile

You have to take some time out and record some of these gems so we can hear what you hear.

I knew you had it in you Daddy. smile  Congrats on #400. It makes it sweeter that it was written for close family.

A day at a time my friend. It's tough to make sense of happenings like this and writing about it can only help to start the healing process.

My Condolences.

Howdy Ark smile

I loved it, with the recording/playing skills you've developed over the years you should take another crack at recording it. Your voice definitely has a Floyd feel to it.

Please say OK smile

Hi Phill,
You just keep getting better and better smile
I liked all tracks but "No Friend" is my fav. Real nice melody and mix with the vocals. If you could post up the lyrics that would be awesome.

Hi Stealstrings,
Sounds like a very conflicted relationship. Hopefully it's not too close to home for you.
Look forwards to hearing a recording.

Hi Jeff,
When you find the secret for that bottle send me up a couple of cases. I'll be a happy camper and you'll be a very rich man.

Well Done, hope to hear some of your works in the future

It's been awhile since I've been on site and posted. I have been checking in pretty regular...just not posting. Good to see the regs are still posting and some new writers coming in. Anywho this song is about Billy Walker realizing he's dying and saying what he wants to say to his good friend (still no name for him) before he dies. Light finger picking with lots of walkdowns in between verses that Chordpro can't? show.
Enjoy

Hi Ark,
Thanks for the read and kind words. I'm working on the recording with the Zoom Q3 but even that has me tied in knots. God I hate being computer illiterate and gun-shy sad
Hopefully soon. smile

Glad to hear everything work out OK for you Bushy. Our secretary at work had some relatives up from Brisbane and were having a hard time watching it on the tube cause they were showing where the guy worked, which was under water and other areas in town that were submerged. They were visiting for about a month and had taken out flood insurance before they left. Luckily they didn't need it as their home was spared.
Here's a few Youtube links to some of the flash floods for those that haven't seen them.
