It's great to see our Musicator Extraordinaire back on the forums. I'm pleased to hear Dondra is doing well and feeling better.

Welcome John, I think you will enjoy it here. I play badly enough in standard tuning, the dogs would have to learn to howl in a different key if I tried another tuning.

Re: Cannot Print Songs (4 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Hi Michael, there have been alot of changes to Chordie with the new update and it takes a bit of getting used to. I seem to remember someone posting about how to print with the new Chordie format. I have'nt tried to print since the big change but I'll keep loooking for the answer to your problem or maybe one of the mods will pop in with the information you need.

I have reported this for you, hopefully it will be reinstated.
Roger
The chord variation feature is back, thank you for reporting the problem Roger. I'm sure jen72 is as happy as I am that it's been reinstated.

Happy NTTD and Happy Birthday DE! It's a hard choice to make when your used to whitewater and a tent on the ground, but it won't take you long to enjoy sleeping on a mattress. Now you can take your "good guitars" with you.

Re: Chord variations (11 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Hi Roger,
You used to be able to go the variations, choose the one that suits you, click it, and it would revert to the song you are on, with your chosen variation of the chord in place of the default. I used this feature often and am missing it!
Jen
Ditto! I miss that feature too.

Re: New here, 61 and just starting to play acustic.. (22 replies, posted in Chordie's Chat Corner)
Welcome to Chordie Paco, thats the key to it "relax", (you said it yourself), be accurate in your finger placement and speed will come naturally. When you seem to get "stuck" on a chord move on to another chord for a few days then come back to the chord you were stuck on, and you might find that it comes naturally, almost as if you did'nt even think about it. There are a lot of us elders here so your not alone, I'll soon be 66, started playing in the early "60s" then got side-tracked by life for a while but picked it back up when I hit 55. The easy and fun songs I'll suggest for you are by Tom Petty, "Free Fallin"(G,C,D) and "I Won't Back Down"(Em,D,G,C).
Live in the "now", one day at a time and have fun. Tom

Re: Traveling with my guitar (7 replies, posted in Guitars and accessories)
I never trusted traveling by air with a guitar or any instrument for that matter. I suggest you take a set of your favorite strings with you and buy an inexpensive guitar when you get to your destination. That way you won't risk your guitar and you end up with another when you ship your "new" one home. One can never have to many guitars.

Re: Chord variations (11 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Is it just me or are we unable to choose a chord variation anymore to replace a chord image ?
Good morning and welcome to the forums jen72. I had asked that question last week, I'm hoping that it's just a glitch in the new system and that we have'nt lost that feature. I use alternate chords often as they can give a slightly different voicing to the chord. Sometimes it's just plain easier on these old arthritic fingers.

Just picked up a Yamaha SJ 180 from the 80s. Now I have 2. One I bought in 1984. And this one. I have been setting up a Bar/ TV Room/ Jam Space for the past 2 months. That is why I haven`t bought anymore guitars lately. Picture on Facebook
Happy NGD JJJ! Sometimes GAS is just too hard to resist.

Re: Bug Reporting (55 replies, posted in About Chordie)
This evening I tried to select a variation of a chord in one of my selected songs but was unable to do so. I could view variations of the chords but could'nt change them. I tried it on several songs with the same result. Am I missing something or can this no longer be done?

Re: No 'search' within Public Books? (4 replies, posted in About Chordie)
Hi. I no longer see a search function within Public Books. I used to use that as a way to narrow down the many books that are filled with the same old stuff. Please bring that back (or, if I'm just missing it, let me know where to find it). Thanks!
Hello harrahy, the search function is there, click on songs, at the end of the alpabet are two icons, click on the search icon to the right of the hashtag symbol. Good to see you on the forums.

Peatle, I enjoyed your poem. I have kept a notebook of thoughts that I've put to paper over the years and your poem brought to mind something I wrote many years ago while enjoying the setting sun from a mountain ridge - "But even now, my song laments, I only regret, the things I have'nt done once". Thank you for reminding me.
