thanks for all the suggestions - and after seeing the BIOS thing , i got a feeling it is that which may be causing the problem. as i said before- the card is being recognised by the pc with no problems - and showing as such in device manager etc ... going to get a freind of mine to help me do the switch from the onboard sound card to the new one - which is a dedicated audio recording and playback for music recording ... ie. better quality .

just got a new sound card for my pc ... to help improve the mixing and final editing . the card is recognised by my music software but when i use the card as my main soundcard there is no sound . anyone who is a bit aware of this kind of thing - ie , music on a pc . any help would be gratefully accepted . i have done all i can to follow all instructions as to let the pc know it should be using the new card as the main one . the card is an AUDIOPHILE 2496 . though i got a  feeling i would have the same problem with any new card . thanks .

count me in - not to sure about editing stuff etc .... but able to tell if something is working or not as have no problems on my pc so far with chordie .

Isn't it good or not to DELETE your topic if you don't see an answer after a few days?
A few possibilities:
- the topic is more a statement or sais it all.
- the topic has been posted by a lot of people
- the topic is not relevant, and this means that it's not interesting others.
CONCLUSION
I delete at least MY TOPICS to make more "space" or I write another topic.

just wondering why on all your posts you use the word" sais" instead of " says" ... is it a belgian word ? weird - cos all the other stuff is in english .... been meaning to ask this for ages ...

Love the BIG CELEBRITY REHAB  song . I cant write songs ( I can think of two lines then it goes blank) . That one you done is the sort i would love to be able to do . Cynical , funny stuff - nice one !.

I dont know if tis will help - but - many years ago while working in the Television Industry my cameraman wanted to make a documentry . He wrote to phil collins ( the famous one ) for permission to use one of his songs in it . phil collins wrote back and gave permission . it was a documentry about the Homeless over here . So - write a few letters explaining exactly what you intend to do - you never know - you might get a result . WHO DARES WINS .

Hi evsynator,

If you wish, you could edit the song to add the missing chords (in the original key) and save it. It is easy then to transpose to your key and print. The big advantage is that it will be there for anyone else to use and have a note at the bottom saying that you had improved the song.

Take care,

Roger

Hi roger - good idea . Where would i edit the song to be able to do that ? ( I bet your going to tell me we can do it in chordie ) . I will have a go at it . Thanks.

my webcam has a built in mic - but it has a few drawbacks - so i never use it . if the other person ( or persons) have the sound coming out of their pc speakers it causes a lot of feedback . a cheap headset with built in mic ( the sort that you can dangle in front of your mouth) is a lot better for serious long time chat .

sounds like a great way of sharing an interest and a fun way of learning from others . i would be interested - how many can be online at the same time ? and do you have a strict policy that all must have webcams ? . i dont mind doing the webcam thing at all - but it bugs me when i think there are others that you cant see as well . do you also have certain times of the week to meet up ? please feel free to pm me . dave ( evsynator )

Good point, ssttsstt.
The transpose tool only changes the display of the song and does not alter the source file in any way.  However, you can always print out the song after it is transposed.

I guess I'm still not getting why some users are so anxious to put songs into Word files.  I have binders full of printed songs, but can't really see the point in having it also in a word processor file.

Although MS Word is a very versatile word processor, it is unable to 'read and format' chordpro files . . . next time I lunch with Bill Gates, I'll suggest they work on that!

Hi james - only in answer to the " why put into word files" . My reason is that some songs are a bit complicated with a lot of chord changes . The next few verses often do not have the chords with them which means i am continuosly looking back up to see the chords - so it can be a bit frustrating . No fault of chordy at all -  its just me not being able to learn a load of songs so its easier to re - write a few of them and add the chords . Its a fantastic site for me not just for getting chords and lyrics - but also for visiting other members websites and seeing what you are all up to and getting help when needed ..... thanks to all inolved .

loads of two chord songs out there - but here are a couple of 2 chord things i started with just to practice .  try   AM ( A MINOR )  changing to EM ( E MINOR ) .  just me , but i found these two changes helped a lot as i found i was able to find many variations in the sound and when i was able to pick it helped as well . as i say thats just my way of starting - i was learning on my own so found it hard .

has it been done on here ( by chordie members) .... that someone writes and performs a song - and then someone sends a a backing track ( acoustic guitar - drums - bongos - bass or absolutely whatever instrument _ or even vocals ) to someone else to add it on whatever mixing desk they have ? . so - 1 member would send in 1 backing track to make an entire song with all the rest. ?
