Great stuff Gil. This is my kind of song and your version suits me fine, really enjoyed it.

I love my old (1985 model) Ibanez 12 stringer. Stays in tune pretty well, just a tweak here and there before playing, no big deal. The tip here is to use the best strings you can afford. Elixers are my all time favourite.
I standard tune it these days although have tried different tunings in the past whenever I changed strings.
12'ers are a great guitar if you like doing ballads eg: John Denver, Smokie etc. Also, if your fingers are sore from playing a 6 string, the 12 string allows some relief on the finger tips and you can play on I find.
Just my thoughts.

Tommy Emanuel (accoustic) Joe Walshe, Brad Paisley (electric) in modern day. Carlos Santana,Jimmi Hendrix, Mark Knoffler, Slash, S.R.V, Chet Atkins (in days gone by). Pretty much any guitar player better than me. (huge list)

The end of the world wasn't that bad an experience for me. The place i'm in now is pretty darn good with all my family and friends around me, my animals still know me, I have my P.C. and chordie, my guitars hanging on the wall behind me. Can't complain.

Hello A.M.  To answer question #1, 100 songs in a songbook is max. What I have done is have several song books.
eg: Bushy's mix, Bushy's accoustic, Bushy's rock, Bushy's xmas carols.  Hope this helps.
I am unable to help you out with questions #2 and #3 but I am sure someone will come along and offer advice.

That sounded pretty good to me Jim. I have not played this song in ages, you got me motivated so I have played it a few times since I heard your version.

Best news in a long time, bin Laden is dead. I hope that now, some of the people that have been affected by this murderering bastard and his organisation  feel that some justice has been done.
To the soldiers that carried out this justice, I salute you.

Zurf, you have just described my normal camping trip. The blue skies are only for the before and after, never during it seems. I still love getting out and away from it all just the same.

Seriously though, I feel for all the families affected by the storms over there. Having been through some tough times in Queensland over the past few months, I fully understand the devastation and heartbreak that can be caused by nature.
Best wishes to all

Hello highly strung, I had a look at your website. Some great photos of our beautiful country. Other Chordians in different parts of the world may care to take a look at parts of our Land Down Under.

Dino48, Not all Aussies are musos, but all Aussies that play a musical instrument are. Consider yourself enlightened. (wink)

Hello there, just tripped over your post. There are a few Aussies on Chordie but it would be great to see more. Do what I do and spread the word. This is a the top site for guitar players of all skill levels, the advice and assistance you can get on here is outstanding.

Hello Folks, I have followed this thread with interest and envy. This is my kind of trip away, fishing, four wheel drive, strumming and a drink around the camp fire. What could be better? Wish I lived closer.

MKM, your'e on the right track. Take it from an old Queenslander, and in light of recent events, staying above the water is definately where you you want to be.

Zurf, your'e getting old and that is a disease we all should hope to catch. Better than what comes second.
Dr. Bushy's remedy- A few rum and cokes, pick up guitar, play and sing loud. Repeat daily.

Your'e a lucky man Pete, beautiful guitar. I would have a Martin in a flash but the price of them here in Aus. is way over the top for this old hack.
