Jeff
because of the post you made on Brian's song. I spent the evening enjoying listening to some TVZ, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, Rodney Crowell among othres - also watched a bit of the movie Heartworn Highways.
Steve Earle's son Justin Townes Earle is named after TVZ
Thanks for the motivation to travel down memory lane - I had a great evening
and Justin wrote a song called Christchurch Woman - about a woman in New Zealand ! Peatle and Brian and Jan - ever been to Christchurch ? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jU1xL6rDAZI
Thanks again
Jim
Nice one Brian !
Good stuff in the message !!
Beamer
I absolutely agree with all the comments above !
In my mind I envision a " Metalizer " song that softly creates a mood, and then explodes to a crescendo of passion, a guitar solo that depicts confusion, and ends with softness of heartbreak, reflection, and healing.
I think this is most excellent.
I also am hopeful as I believe I am detecting a step forward for you in the healing process.
Best wishes my friend and I would love to hear a recording of this!
JIm
Jeff,
Indeed, clever!
Nice performance as well.
Keep'em coming my friend!
Thanks for the share.
Jim
Neo
Nice one
I agree with Phill - it allows for personal application and interpretation - it will mean a lot of different things to many different people.
very creative
Jim
Well I finally got an hour of free time this morning so I thought I would record my song to post - one thing led to another - and I ended up adding a verse.
My recording of this pales compared to Jan's - she has such a magnificent voice.
I apologize for my singing and playing - it's really hard for me to play and sing at the same time - not being a musician.
any way here it is -

Incredible piece Peatle !
SIgmund Freud would state the obvious - but you got me thinking - I do not recall ever in all my years witnessing a girl rocking an air guitar !
Nice one Phill
Lots of childhood memories come to mind
Imagination - the key to creativity - begins in a child - often gets stymied by the adult world
glad to see you've still got that spark !
Jim
I happen to come across this by chance. I only have ever heard of one Per so I thought possibly it could be our guy !
Pretty fabulous !

Classical G
Moonlight Sonata -
Thats real smooth ! I could never have such discipline - well done !!
Jets
This is the song as it is in my songbook.
You can see the bm chord - however - I don't bar it - just play the bottom three as shown.
I cannot figure out what that chord is actually called - maybe some one on here that actually knows music can tell me.
( Maybe it's not even a real chord - I don't know - it just sounds good to me)
hope it helps

Richard that's great !
Also loved the wife with headphones in the background - I need to get those for my wife !!
Spending time doing this is priceless - enjoy every moment !
Thanks for sharing the glimpse of life at your home.
Jim
Everyone - Thank you so much for your kind words.
Jets
I simply slide move my am down two frets
It might be just a Bm - I'm really not too good at music
I'll get a version of it up soon, and try not to damage anyone's ears
Thanks for the interest
Jim
Phill
That is awesome. Love the raw emotion pouring out.
You are a braver lad than I, I almost never show my wife the songs I write about her.
Great job my friend
Jim
No wonder I never have that look - I'm never keep on time
Bill
Same here
I just record onto my computer - and then upload to the cloud - pretty easy.
Good luck
and I am looking forward to your contribution!
Jim
PS Is Dondra going to be your back up singer ?
Peatle - well done
I agree with the song and I agree with Richard's comment he left on Soundcloud!
Jim
Beamer
Sound very cool !
You two go well together
You look so serious though -
keep em coming
Jim
Well done both lyrical and performed !!
If your visit is as wonderful as what you have written and sung here - it will be fantastic time !
Thanks for sharing JETS !
Jim
Bill
I too am with great anticipation of a song by the Musicator Extraordinaire
Thanks also for your kind words. Phill and I do work well together, but both are ridiculously busy with jobs family and other stuff so that kind of commitment is very unlikely.
I'm quite comfortable with just being a simple part of chordie and enjoying the great stuff that our fellow members put out there.
You are quite accurate in your assessment - there is an overwhelming abundance of talent here - and one of these years after I retire I plan on making it to a chordie gathering somewhere to enjoy it first hand.
Thanks again,
Jim
Jan
Sounds teriffic!!
I wrote this this morning... it's not too complicated !
It just kinda popped in my head after a great night out with my wife.
(I put the line about the garden in there as a tribute to Jan and her Dad )
Happy Birthday Russell
What anniversary of the 21st birthday is it ?
Jim
Jan
That is so fantastic - one of the best I've ever read here on Chordie - or anywhere in fact.
To me poetry is about painting a mental picture and moving the soul and emotions - which you have outstandingly done !
I am a huge gardener - and as I am getting older and my kids have left - I have not diminished my garden for the very reason you included - it's not the garden - its the life.
As I garden - it is a time of reflection , a time of stress relief, a time to be creative, and a time to absolve problems. I had my 3 year old grandson over a couple of weeks ago and we picked beans - not to harvest but to find different colors - and we just threw the beans back into the soil. The last two times since then - as soon as he has arrived - he wanted to go to the garden - I would plant a hundred gardens just to continue being able to that over and over again !
Thanks for sharing this wonderful literary piece - it should become a song.
As Phill pointed out - we all have meaningful songs that touch our hearts in remembrance - if I was a musician and was capable of playing a set - I would always include the song "Leader of the Band" - Whenever I do play it on my guitar - it always brings tears to my eyes as I remember my Mother and my 6 older brothers.
Thank you so much - I love this piece!!
and as I am typing right now happy tears are streaming down my face.
Jim
p.s. This should be submitted to some book company - it really and truly is awesome - kids should read this in school. I am going to give a copy of it to the English teacher in the school where I teach - it's that good!!
