Zurf,
Loved the photo's/ For gods sake thats luxury stuff. My sons who also love fishing said, " How cool are they". I still cannot figure how you flyfish sitting down ?.
How deep is the water in those pictures ?.
I used to go camping as kids with my parents. To Redbarn in Youghal. { Yew Wood } Pronounced "Yawl". We did sea fishing there. Always good times but as this country was always 20 years behind the rest of the world in those days. It was hard packing for us all. One year there was 70 of us. All related.
It was in 1954 that John Huston chose Youghal for the location of New Bedford for the movie "Moby Dick". They also have a fun fair there which to us was magical.
Fridges, beers, and Herschel' "The Pyro" as a friend . God man you have it all!.
Comfort personified.

Yes indeed Kap54,
I know the feeling well. Me Dad was 52 years when he passed! A great character.
He loved old clocks/ radios and cameras. He would spread newspapers on our big kitchen table and take one apart to fix it. We sat for hours and watched him. He also made us the most amazing kaleidoscopes. We would have to roll tiny pieces of coloured paper for them. Magnificent shapes and images they made. He taught us all our history in songs. He also taught me how to make handpainted firescreens
He taught me how to cut/sew and make all my own clothes.
He bought a big tape recorder when we were kids, brown reel to reel. He would then prop up the microphone and we would have great fun singing and listening to the playback. My brother has put this material on CDS for us. Wonderful to still hear him and me Mam singing.
He was a wonderful Dad. We keep his memory alive by always speaking of him.
Happy Fathers Day to all
Thanks for the Memories Kap54.
So much in this song Kap54.
Compassion , love , longing. You really captured the images for me.
Great writing!
Many years ago, i came across a Elderly Man Hitching a lift. He was just one of these people who hitched from town to town. He said " He was going to the next town, some 4 miles away. I ended up taking him another 80 miles, all the way to Cork with me. It took me a while to get used to his smell, but his stories were worth every mile. and the valet of the car seat!
Well done.

Hi Kap54.
This song is tinged with sadness.
Sure theres days i feel like the "Last Rose of Summer" faded and jaded.
But today aint one of those days. So do as i do , Head out with the Girlettes!
or Lads. Sing a little , dance a little, drink a wee dram, tell a joke, chat with friends.
Its a Good song!
Now go get buffed and polished and come along with us!
guaranteed a laugh!

Hi AlanSheeran,
Please dont be depressed over this or anything. Life's to precious.
We here in Ireland today have been called all kinds of insulting things in the papers.
Right across the E E C. Am i depressed ? NO! I know im not a Shinner"{ IRA Lover}
I dont like trouble or wars of any description. There is a much bigger picture underlying the "No Vote". Believe me! our Goverment know this!.
Days of begging for the Builín Arán { white Loaf } are long gone. The EEC need to be reminded " American Businesses and there tourist kept us afloat for many years when no one else gave a hoot about us. { God Bless them } Americans and others helped give us back peace in our land, while leaving us { The ordinary people of ireland } with our dignity.
The elitist in the Eu can insult me all they like but, they can never take away my democratic right to vote.
Alansheeran you just keep playing your music.

These are the only blues you need! The rest will take care of its self , as it has since time began.
Slán,
Love and peace to your heart.

Hey Badeye,
You may get out your Rothar { bike } and put new Boons on { tyres } .
Its looks like after today i wont even have a bike.
Apparently we are all headin down the swanee here after a resounding "No Vote" today in the "Lisbon Treaty". 30 years of troubles and living in fear has toughened us i feel. We have benefited amazing well from the Eu, but the fear of having our independance taken away again was just to much for the people of this wee Island.
Now, let the Greedy head honchos in Situ at the moment sort this one out.
Sure its only there own asses there concerned about. Not us Joe Soaps!

I get inspired by most everything,
walking the dog, nature. People.. I have loads written from events in my own life
some sad some happy. Sometimes a line someone may say speaking to me or
Words, just jot down or use a small digital recorder. But when you get the inspiration
make notes. YOU WILL FORGET!
