It is a pretty song.
Some members might be able to help you out if you can include a youtube, audio, link to the song. If it's not found anywhere, they can sound it out for ya but they'll need a lil more help.
Yay. I like it when things work out.
Actually, to request that it be added to the Chordie index, you'll need to do a little work here: http://www.chordie.com/addurl.php
Cute!
Good stuff!!! I am in awe over the fact that more practiced players can make a great guitar sound awesome, and even a crappy one sound pretty great. And of course that they are capable of doing so even well after their fingers get drunk. Glad you guys got together and had such a great time!!
Thanks to the generosity of a good person, I am most likely going to be there as well, though I will be solo. Zurf, I am seriously considering bringing the Martin as well. I too can sleep anywhere. Beach, floor, couch, bed, I'm not picky. Though if I'm sleeping on the beach, we'll have to stop at the liquor store on the way back from the airport.
Save save save save save. One track... SAVE... next track... SAVE! I think I might have punched my monitor if I was you though. That stinks.
I moved your post woopii, I think the folks in the recording section can help you out more with xfering a music format than those that visit the song requests forum. Good luck and welcome to Chordie.
I did a search, but can only find the lyrics. Perhaps you can post a youtube link to the song or something of the like so our members that have the ability and time on their hands can listen and see if they can figure the chords out for you?
JJJ - My daughter with Autism has a difficult time turning her mind off to relax at night enough to get to sleep. Melatonin works wonders to help her relax. It's available in pill or liquid form. It's not a "drug" but instead a natural item available with the vitamins in the stores (yup, even the Grocery Store Carries it, right by the multivitamins). I've taken some when I've had a particularly revved up day (extremely stressed, after having insomnia for several days on end due to insane life circumstances not allowing my brain to shut down) and knew there was no way I was going to go to sleep. It does help. Try it, see if it helps you out at all. It's not expensive. It won't keep you asleep all night, but it'll help your mind go into relax mode which will maybe help you get some sleep. Unlike a sleeping pill, it doesn't "knock you out". You don't wake up feeling groggy even if you wake up a few hours later either.
You've got a LOT on your plate right now. Way more than most of Chordie's members problems all put together. Sleepless nights are only going to make everything worse. Try something, you NEED sleep so you can have a clearer head to try to get by each day. Of course, a good solid breakdown alone will also help. You deserve a moment to feel whatever you are feeling, so you can get through this. ((HUGS))

LOL - funny guy! Spell it out in simple terms and Roger will help you get straightened out. Did you have a songbook before you registered with this username? If this is the first time you ever registered, then you have to create a songbook from scratch, but sounds like you might have been registered before if you had one already. Don't worry, it's hard to break Chordie (although there is a little glitch about only being able to have 100 songs in a songbook or something to that effect).
WELCOME to the forums either way!!
Oh man, that's so crappy! I'm sorry JJJ. I can only imagine what you, she and the kids are going through with this news. What is the plan of attack on the cancer? I imagine with the osteo-arthritis being as bad as it is that it limits the types of treatment she can get. Keep us updated. We're here as a place to vent and receive support of course. Blessings for you and yours.
Looking good on the wall! We have 4 hanging in our bedroom, and then two more hanging around the house. My Martin goes into the case when the heat comes on.
If someone can provide a different type of direction on this subject, it would be helpful to a few of us, I'm sure.
I just use facebook 99% of the time for my pictures. You just have to make sure that the pictures you want to share on Chordie are set on facebook as Public. Otherwise, picasa web albums works well, and it's an extension of google so you just use your google log in for that. If you need more help, let me know, you can even send me an email and if it's just a few pics for Chordie I'll put them into my album for you and put them on here.
Alpina - CONGRATS! Love my Martin. Excellent choice!
Welcome back... so very sorry for your loss.
Hang in there JJJ - it's a tough road for certain! I hadn't been playing much either and each time things get to the point where I stare at the guitar and wonder... I remember what it does to help me out when things are so rough and I pick it up if only for one song. That generally tends to help prime me for the next time. You need a little down time too, and I imagine your wife would agree. Don't wear yourself too thin. I'm sure that's far easier said than done of course.
The kids are all on vacation that week ending the 22nd. I'm not sure what this means for me... either we MIGHT be able to make it all there as a family, or there's a really slim chance we'll make it because we won't be able to get away from the kids. LOL! I'll have to talk with Jimbo and find out his thoughts. At the moment, we've got plans to head to Boston in January... so him taking more time off could be an issue, depending on where he's working too. I guess that'll really be the determining factor. I know one thing, if we do make it, I will NOT allow my fingers to get too drunk!
There's a lot of "tricks" to getting the phone working on the cable company's end. It's highly likely that the person who set it up in the computer didn't do everything right. You'll have to get someone on the line that has a brain. Also, you have to go through an authorization process with a different company - if that didn't go "perfectly" your phone service won't go through and they'll have to have you go through it again. If you're stuck at that point, make sure the cable company tells you EXACTLY how they spelled your name and address in the system before they transfer you to the third party for authorization. That's usually the number one reason phone service doesn't go through if everything else is right (and everything else is usually NOT right in the system). I'm sure it's the computers and poor training of the folks on the other end of the phone, not you. Also, they have to have already sent a tech out to remove a physical filter in your line outside. Someone may have forgotten to order that as well. There's so many things that can go wrong with setting up phone service. I wasn't trained right, but figured most of it out eventually. In the mean time, I was being reprimanded for not "selling" enough phone service, all because every one I tried to set up didn't go through (because of the poor training). THAT is why I quit that job before they fired me for their stupidity. Sadly, all the cable companies are the same (and guess what? 75% of the people you talk to on the phone aren't even working directly for the company but instead for a third party company - outsourced - and that's why their training sucks. I'm a perfect example.)
To be honest, the people who USUALLY can fix it for you are those in the sales department because they can override a lot of the computer codes... unfortunately, getting someone from sales on the line after you've been sold is difficult as they'll undoubtedly want to transfer you to tech support. Again, GOOD LUCK!!! Maybe my insight can help you navigate the BS.
Sounds like it's what we call a "telephony modem" or an eMTA or even more, if it has wifi then it's a "new one" - It's a cable modem that brings in telephone and internet. Many of them did not used to be wireless, this is a "new" offering by the cable companies in the past year or so. If it has a wpa button and "bunny ears" than it has wireless capabilities, but the cable companies generally charge extra for the wireless service and even though you CAN do it, you may not be ABLE to if they haven't charged you for that service. Since the modem belongs to the cable company, they should be able to help you with basic troubleshooting and get it set up, however they will claim that they can't "fix" your computer without charging you. It's a lovely catch-22 that all the companies are doing now to try to make money and use their techs to just sell more rather than fix more (I did this line of telephone tech support work last year).
Here's comcast's online guide to setting up your wifi with their modems: http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-su … s-network/ Refer to the bottom of the page where it says "Connect with a manual setup". GOOD LUCK!!
Yeah, there's no WPA button on your computer itself. You may need to open up the thing about setting up a new network and walk though that, tell it you're using the button on the router and push it when the computer tells you to. Good luck! If the router isn't from comcast then they will NOT walk you through it for free (unless the tech is nice). Let us know how you make out. If you don't get it and still need help shoot me an email and I might be able to help you out sometime tomorrow.
I don't know how many of you follow "Your Guitar Sage" on youtube or facebook. He has a TON of tutorials on youtube on how to play songs. I've learned a lot from him. Well, the guy also of course tries to make money and sells a lot of stuff. At the moment, he's got a book available on Amazon for FREE on how to read music and notation for beginners. I haven't read it yet, so I'm not sure how good it is (I do know the basics), but apparently it won't be free for long so I thought I should share in case anyone was interested. I have nothing to do with this guy - this isn't an advertisement for him - I'm a mod here and know the rules. It's just a suggestion for a freebie if anyone is interested in checking it out. Here's the link: http://www.amazon.com/How-Read-Music-Fu … 00F0W4J3W/
I'll glance thru this as soon as I've had my third cup of coffee and can compute - and if I see anything off I'll let ya'll know here. I think it's only available for free today and tomorrow (Sept 26, 27) but I'm not positive on that. I HOPE it's useful to someone!!!
Amy
There is no cure. The best I can say is, just try not to spend everything on Guitars because you will need to buy a little food to eat and keep a roof over those babies!
Very sad story, but SUPER AWESOME ending!!!! Happy NGD! Remember, pictures are "mandatory". Let me know if you need any help, I'd love to see your new baby!
Lots of thoughts and good vibes going out for your family Jeff.
