well all the glue has held and the strings are on. It is as good as it ever was.  Now I just need to have the  set up and  frets looked at.   The truss rod has soeme thing funky that I have never seen going on,,,(and I have thus far for 20+yrs let it alone)  but I really do not like the fret buzz and after playing my sons,, its fighting me now.  So time to finally get around to it! LOLOL

last night I decided to attempt the repairs on my Kamen.

This is the best pic I could get.  Its the under side of the face right by the neck joint.its loose where the T is and then the fwd to aft pc is 1/2 loose.  I finally had some deep yet small C clamps so I gathered up the clamps some Gorilla Wood Glue, and a syringe.  OH btw that mess you see hanging there is factory glue.  I think I got it all done. lots of glue used! LOLOL

also had a stringer in tthe aft aprt from hole to back that fell off.same process just no pics, also loaded a big zip lock with cat litter to sit on it and press it down.   Pics on the inside of a guitar are not easy LOLOL

bought some Martin Marquis lights for it (.012 - .054) to test it out.  Still need some action adjusted and some frets leveled but at least now I hope to play my long time traveling companion.  I am thinking of deglosing it, make it all Matte.

OH iI also did do the degloss of the back of the neck as seen in in frudas vid.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxGz6IZ … ePqXOJBgXw
I did this to my SG as well as the Kamen.

OK as soon as its restrung ill post a update!

Shes a beauty. congrats

Since most of the readers of this thread are the regulars, you guys know me. I love a story, from the 70s till now.  I love the harmony and do wop of the 50s.  I guess I’m rooted in the blues based styles.  I appreciate the complexity of classical, I like to hear it for a short time, but what I still get off on is some good heavy angst ridden music.  I gotta have a voice that can hit the notes and not scream all the time (screamo) but yet be able to carry a melody.  I still love "Real County" not the pop crapola they try to push now.  Not to say I don’t like modern artist.  Jamie Johnson still is one of my favorite current artists (but wish he would trim that scraggly duck dynasty beard! -oh an most everyone else with them, ZZ can keep theirs because they are not following a fad LOLOL)

For what ever reason Ima rocker. Most my acoustic stuff is slow, dark and moody but I try to evoke an image (thank Judas priest and Morrison for that) but I like a few bright major chord songs too LOLOL.

Don’t know if that answers the question or not.  CHEERS

Union was a bit sweet that way.  I guess time for reality and best im looking at now is 18-20 and 20 is if i'm lucky. but  if i can find a closer job i wont be driving a 120 miles a day! so It should cover some of the difference.

Not to look for sympathy, just wanting to let my Chordie Family know that I'm now a statistic.  I'm being laid off friday.  So there goes my Chordiestock plans.  I am hoping I get lucky with a few of the aviation companies around here so that I wont be in the unemployment line too long.  I am just happy I was smart enough to hang in my last 5 years of the navy to finish my 20.    The positives.  Wife has good job and my health Ins is covered.  Everyone is healthy, last year or so was all the major dental.  Only crappy thing is now I need my eyes done and no vision,,, looks like me and dollar tree reading glasses a bit longer LOLOL It will all work out. I have faith.
I will spend some time also working on the house, and HEY practicing some guitar and maybe getting the 4 or 5 songs recorded I have not done in how long now????

Well Mr. Scott out,
But who will beam me up???

Well unless the good fairy drops down. Things have just taken a bad turn.    and not to jump thread, see my new one.

It may be a almost B movie but I love the Eddie and the Cruisers movies due to the fact taht the sound tracks and John Caferdy and the beaver brown band was pretty darn good.

On the dark side is still a great song.

Shoot - pretty much every Travis Tritt song is DDDD.  DDDD can sound pretty darned good if you've got the right attitude.  Who doesn't know "Here's a Quarter, Call Some Who Cares" or "It's a Great Day To Be Alive?"   Both of them, DDDD and attitude.

This is just about every single song THE RAMONES did.  But sometimes really fast! Attitude always.

Cliff Williams (AC/DC) Cliff uses a '76 Music Man strung with D'Addario flat wounds. For amplification Cliff uses early '70s Ampeg SVT and 8 x 10 SVT Cab.

Doug,, I really can feel the difference between a 9 and 10 on the high E.  I play 10s now myself for a thicker sound,, but whien I hold a guitar with 9s the strings feel smaller LOLOL and 9s bend way easier (IMO LOLOL)

Curt: Yep time to find a new guitar guy.   I don't know where your at or what country since you dont post that info. So No one can really steer you in a better direction for help.  Have you looked up Luthiers in your area? or a good guitar shop with a good Tech.

oh  i thought that they could be in a common file! and then i could tell wave pad and audacity to fetch them from there. DOOugh!

So I need to put them into a vst file within audacity and wavepad.  Ill try it again.

AS to the particular ones,, LOLOL man IDK whatever would run 64 bit! lolol   few from voxengo, camel crusher, and a multi pac from TAL i think.   lots of the 32 bit ones I wish were usable in 64 bit.
I posted all the links I used in the free stuff section.  spent about 2 hours looking and downloading and trying to down load.

Is audacity 32 or 64 bit on win 7 since i discovered win 7 has a 32 bit partition.  If it runs on a 32 bit then I can use the 32s for audacity and the 64s for wavepad

I spent a long time searching for win 64 vst's  downloaded them and can not figure out how to install them.  I tried to put them in my external hard drive in a vst folder i made so that I could tel each separate program where to look for them.  I guess that is not how to do it.  HELP

THanks!
scott.

Oh  if you are on a windows 64 bit system a lot of the vst's will not work,, you need the ones with the win 64 symbol.
