I like that they do not have that anoying ashtray on there.  I loved my blond Tele except for that stupid plate they have on all of them, kept getting in the way of my right hand.  I just saw a Dean tele typewith humbuckers and a single at a pawn shop,, but they want way to much for it and the  2 Epiphone LP 100's.
I could buy a new one less than they were asking, and they had missing knobs, or wrong hardware,, sheesh waht do they think, no one can look stuff up on the spot?

but this also brings up a good point,, all the greats were essentially baby boomers, having grown up after WW2, to be hot as snot in the 60s and  70s.  So lets look at todays crop of hot guitarist currently out and who do you think will be around in 40 years?

I see
Satch (who really is not young himself) (aka Joe Satriani)
Steve Vi (same as above)
Eddie    (same)
Ace     (not at all young)
Jim root (over 40 but snot hot!) slip knot and stone sour

but current guys??? Im sure they are out there, but I cant lay a name to one, espically as heavy lead guitar laden songs have been out of fasion in popular radio play.  Imagaindragons??? yea right!

Hopefull guys

Synister Gates  from avgened 7fold
DARRELL ROBERTS and ZOLTAN BATHORY  from 5 finger death punch
any help now? my kids listen to everything so dont have input there.

Whats stopping ya??

what zurf said and add in poppastaschrocks  Poppa is in guitarjamz also with Marty.  and youcanlearnguitar

here is a hint,, go to  http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001002.htm paste the youtube link of the lessons you want  and download them.  and what I did to keep them in a useable form if my internet goes down is I burnned them all to a DVD as a data file. ( or you could dedicate a thumb drive to them) you may need to download VLC media player to your system to view them,, but VLC is free and its awesome! If your TV is one that comes installed with VLC like some do then you are in the money,

Electric or acoustic or A/E?

Dean's,, take your pick  http://www.musiciansfriend.com/dean-aco … s?N=500001

I really like Dean, I have played some and they are super nice! You really cant go wrong with an Xavier either.  They are supurb and the cases are very good also .  If I had to nit pick,  all it needs it fret edges filed a bit more. But out of the box set up was great.  As with any guitar change strings out of the box, and go ahead and spring for a set up to your specs and likeing, I have tehm dress frets  while they are there also.

just my 2 cents.

good luck and enjoy the shopping

And I say this loosly,

some years ago I wrote a song based around the almost same intro satch uses in this song, so now I have to learn it,, of course I wont be hitting the leads and a few other bits,, but it will be enought to get the feel across.  My song was called Cherokee Chief. but yea  I just heard this tonight and thought DA*M  This is the emotion I was shooting for with my song!

Nice work man !

You mentioned www.guitarfettish.com  - I went there -- some of their guitars look great, and like all sellers - the descriptions sound great as well. .  I was especially looking at the hollowbody guitars.   Do you have any experience or knowledge regarding the quality of the Xaviere guitars they sell ?
Jim

I bought one for my son and I play the frets off it.  the finish is supurb,, it has not even needed set up out the box.  If I wanted to be picky,, a few frets need dressed, but otherwise the A/E sunburst is great and sounds great!

SIMPLISTIC

11/22/14

C                    F
Running in a frame of life
  C                                            G
Not always knowing how to make it out
C                                      F
Never thought I would play it safe,
C        F
I just look around ,
C                          G
playing it safe is all I see,
Am       Dm              Am      Em
Where is     the rebel in me?

It is not who I thought I would be,

I love my life even when there is strife,

I just don’t know where is the me,

The one I thought I would be

Some times he makes it out,

no one can hear its chime,

All along I want to be much more,

Much more than I can find

So filled with uncertainty

Oh hell lets  make it

Ballistic, hedonistic, a statistic

I guess we will just keep it simplistic

I  know there are plenty out there as rock guys use them all the time switching between electric and acoustic,,   but they are for standing.
