My songbook is huge(5 binders).I never saw any problem with the font size. Two words,MAGNIFYING GLASS.I have terrible eyesight, but eventually you remember  what you print.Or my favorite trick.A clip light. That way I can grace all of you with my presence.I wont threaten to leave over font size.

I guess 'saran wrap' is what we in the UK call 'cling film' - a non sticky clear membrane that will cling to itself or porcelain - great for stretching across the top of a loo. smile

Joeyx3. I bet your parents wet themselves laughing when you were not around and the story would have gone around all the adults when children were not about.

Roger

Gee Roger.I don`t think so.My sister was an adult at the time(8 years older). She failed to see the humor.I was kind of a mischevious wise guy when I was young.Never got arrested but in trouble at home a lot.

I always notice what kind of guitar someone is playing.Happy days for example,I like to see what guitars they use when they sing?Old Elvis movies are another source. That thing you do,one of them(steve zahn)has a silvertone exactly like mine.A lot of old movies and tv shows are like that.Whenever there is a band playing, they usually have some cool instruments.

I agree.  I just heard over an alternative radio station, Bela Fleck and the Flektones playing a "Charlie Brown Christmas".  It was awesome.  I love classical christmas tunes on guitar.

As for certain tunes I loath and despise....Little Drummer Boy tops the list.  And now added to it, is the car commercial that uses, "It's the most wonderful time of the year."  As in; "It's the most wonderful sale of the year."

Thank GOD for mute buttons.  GGGRRRRRRRRRR

That car commercial is for NISSAN,I hated it the minute I saw it

I tried to teach myself. Then I took lessons for 2 years. Then I took  a night course in 1987 at Fitchburg High School hoping to learn to read. The teachers told me I was wasting my time because I was too far ahead of the rest of the class

Don`t let a few mean spirited people keep you from doing what you like. Not just guitar either. I come from a family like that. The only thing that kept me going is that I never cared what anyone thought of me.I always kept out of trouble and try to be nice to others(no matter what). That way I can be sure it is nothing I do(for the most part). If you are playing by yourself, dont worry how it sounds and dont let a bunch of mean people sway your playing.Keep in mind that just because someone is churchgoing, doesn`t mean they are automatically nice. Those are the same values I push on my own daughter. What I have is a nice well behaved young lady who is welcome at any of my relatives houses anytime.Oh and she also plays guitar, bass, ukelele and some keyboard.  Hope that helps.

Take your time and practice practice practice. When you get done, practice more.Keep your eyes on the prize and don`t think of it as a chore. If you screw up with yourself, don`t worry. I can play and sing together but my voice is so awful that all the neighborhood dogs probably start howling.Eventually you will notice you are doing it no problem. Try doing it freely at first then throw in upstrums or different fills. It will happen.Don`t get discouraged

Isn`t a new set of strings part of a setup anyways.A good setup may do wonders, especially on an epiphone.Epiphones are notorious for being poorly set up.They also come to life really nice when they are setup well.Good luck on yours

I do know Gary Glitter`s story. He is not exactly a pillar to the community.I`m sure there are other songs if you want to get people going in a good way.Perhaps" NA NA,HEY HEY KISS HIM GOODBYE". Just a thought-Gary Glitter was all over the news here,so I can imagine the press he recieved over there.

Hope your wife will not see that post, you would be in some trouble.

I made sure I was very careful how I worded mine.Nothing like pouring gas on a fire.

How about a wife. That can be a cure for GAS.Just remember this equation.Simple math.  Wife + GAS = almost a visit from the guitar police.Expressions like"how many guitars can you play","why do you need another amp". If you put that money away that you spend on guitars.....How many of you have heard this?Im sure its the other way around for the ladies too

I spend 12 hours a day in 4 different supermarkets.I have been subject to christmas music all day for the last month.I don`t know if it`s patti page or doris day singing jingle bells. They keep saying "I like the sleigh ride" through the whole song.I will not miss that song one bit.

A great book to read about the Rolling Stones is "Symphony for the devil".My girlfriend(now my wife) bought it in 1986 and I was glued to .She didn`t care for it.It has pictures and everything. If a book can hold my interest it has to be good(a. d .d)There are doorknobs with higher attention spans than me.Either way,I don`t know if it is still in print or not.It has a lot of info.
