This time, for JUNE`S SUGGESTED SONGS of the Month, we are looking for TWO SONGS.
Firstly:  a MALE Artist/Vocalist/Musician/Singer Song Writer/Band, of Your Choice.
Secondly:  a Female Artist/Vocalist/Musician/Singer Song Writer/Band, of Your Choice.
They can be your favorite artist, someone you want to cover or would like someone else to try to cover, it could be a song that you would never normally try to perform but think it`s time to try something new.  The options available to choose from are almost limitless, go on start suggesting!  You can suggest as many Songs as You Want!
NOTE:  As it seems to be mostly males participating, just a suggestion, it may be advisable to pick a song from a female artist that you (guys) can perform, so that you get to cover both songs.
ALL Suggestions YOU get to VOTE ON!  SO, this time, suggest HEAPS of SONGS and VOTE LOTS … it doesn’t matter how many times you enter Suggestions or how many times your Vote …….. at the end of the day …… it`s all just FUN!

READY?   SET?   GO!!!!

SUNDAY MORNING COMING DOWN

Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down is a song written by Kris Kristofferson before becoming a number one hit for Johnny Cash. This song has been performed by many artists over the years including Willie Nelson.

From Wikipedia:  Sunday Morning Coming Down is a Johnny Cash album, released in 1972. It is a compilation of previously released tracks. It consists of songs previously recorded on albums made from prison concerts or live albums and has songs such as "Folsom Prison Blues", "Orange Blossom Special", "Understand Your Man", and "Sunday Morning Coming Down".

Though not officially released as a single in the United States, American radio stations played "Santa Monica" enough for the song to reach #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 Airplay chart in 1996.[1] The song also spent three weeks atop the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart,[1] and reached #5 on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart. The song also hit #35 on the Top 40 Mainstream chart. Alvin and the Chipmunks covered the song for their 2007 video game Alvin and the Chipmunks. Hmmm interesting questions  easybeat.  Guess for me, if I just don`t like their music (sound or lyrics) I won`t bother listening a second time.  Sometimes I just don`t like what they stand for or show themselves to stand for e.g. Marilyn Manson is an example of this, so I wouldn't bother getting his music.    Using your example easybeat of Gary Glitter, no I wouldn't  get any of his music because of his history (not that I liked him or his music much anyway).

Sorry Grah1 ...  I that link still didn't work for me.  It just keeps on reading  "Sorry this contact isn`t available right now".   Maybe somebody else could try to see if they can hear Grah1 on that FB link?  Especially someone that hasn't got Grah1 as a FB friend, as that may possibly be the reason I can`t access it ?  Anyway, can some one else try to see if they can access it and let us know, thanks.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions smile   Woohoo makes it more fun when there are heaps of songs to pull out of the hat.  So a big thanks to you all and Zurf awesome man for all the suggestions smile

Also Topdown fantastic to see you suggest some songs smile

Ok .....  going to sort out the songs and get back to you shortly smile

(Edited by Jandle for spelling mistake)

Grah1 ....  great, love to hear it smile

zurf ....  fantastic, glad to hear these songs are providing a challenge for you (and others, including me!!!)  .... a good learning curve for us all, learning new skills.  Will look forward to hearing your version of Jack and Dianne when your ready smile

rickyjack .... it is fun and agree with you, it would be fun to all jam together!  Some of them do when they meet at Chordie get together`s at different times of the year in your country USA smile  And your welcome, hope we can keep FSOTM fun for everyone smile

easybeat...... yep that is definately a 1970`s song .........so it can be entered in the hat, thanks smile

Anymore suggestions easy for a 90`s song?

Anyone else?  ....    time is running out smile

many of the songs suggested are of a similar type.
so i`m thinking lets rattle the cage & do a Bee Gees disco song.
Now calm down, maybe settle for one of the great songs ever.
`To Love Somebody`

Hi easybeat,  now that song would have been a great suggestion when we were looking for 60`s and 80`s songs as that song was written and recorded in 1967 and re-released in 1980 smile  but we are now looking for songs from the 70`s and 90`s era`s.  Got some song suggestions for those era`s?

P.S:  forgot to say sorry Grah1 I still couldn't access your version  that FB link sad

Also jgreen great to see you joining in FSOTM, hope to hear more from you smile

easybeat fantastic to see you joining in as well smile

Wow, I  just spent the afternoon listening to everyone`s covers after being away again for the last couple of weeks, so it took me awhile to get through them all.

Firstly ... fantastic effort everyone for having a go at these covers .... just brillant smile

Secondly .... the effort by everyone has been fantastic! I can honestly say each and every cover by everyone was great, the talent on here in Chordie is amazing!  I enjoyed listening to them all, my foot tapping along to each, trying not to sing along so that i could actually listen to you all singing (but because you all sang your  versions so good it was hard not to sing along with you all).   Loved the different styles, different voices, harmonica`s on some, wow!!!  Felt like i was cheering each and everyone of you on!

Thirdly ....  'The Weight' seems to have been the most popular song to perform by most of you .... with 'Jack and Diane' only being done by BGD.   Any other takers on this song before the end of the month?  Would love to hear more people have a go at this song smile

Finally ...... I left you all comments on Sound Cloud smile

Any more suggestions?  There are heaps of awesome 70`s and 90`s songs.  Come on .......... put forward some more suggestions as gives us more choices to pull out of the hat smile

Tig,
you never cess to amaze me at how quickly you able to turn songs out! You are truly gifted in this area!  Another great song!  One suggestion though .....in the chorus the line  "She always knows how to make me feel just right" I would take out the word ALWAYS because when reading through the song, its  talking about a girl who hardly knew the guy and who asked him to stay.......... so as the song goes along every time the word ALWAYS comes up, to me it sounds like she has known him for a LONG time.  Hope that makes sense what i am trying to say.   Otherwise, great song smile
