I too can sympathize with your frustration, but you do have to be patient and give you hand time to heal properly. I know, easier said than done, but hang in there buddy.
Roger
I put a small amount of graphite in my nut slots every time I change strings in the belief that prevention is better than cure.

The only dog that has ever bit me was a border collie.
My strings last 6 weeks!!!! I could never get them to last 6 months, so I suggest you try a new set before anything more expensive.

The previous thread to yours reported a similar problem: http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=21898
As you can see, there is a bug and Per is looking into it. Hopefuly it will soon be sorted.
Thank you for reporting.
Roger
I remember singing and really enjoying 'Rose Marie', 'Indian Love Call' and 'I'll Take You Home Again Kathleen' as a child...... and I still remember most of the lyrics.
R.I.P.
Roger
Thank you for reporting this. I have reported it to Per and hopefully it will be corrected shortly.

Dino, I am no Pc expert and I do not know what you are using. I use I.E. so this is the one I know. As I understand it most browsers remember what was on a page the last time you visited as it is quicker than reading and displaying the current page, so you can have a remembered error page showing after the error has been cleared. With I.E. it is easy to clear this. Next to the address box is a symbol this is the refresh button and will force the browser to look again at what is there now. I assume other browsers have something similar and this may be why you are seeing an error message.
Roger
There was a hiccup yesterday, which should now be resolved. I am guessing that the error message was a page remembered by your browser from yesterday, but if you have any further difficulties please let us know.
Roger
A warm welcome and congratulations from me too. I am pleased that things are going well for you and you must let us know how the band is going.

Congratulations to you and Gem. Have a wonderful day and a very loud and alcoholic jam session.
Roger
And a Happy Birthday from me too...............
..............or use your middle to pinkie fingers. They are thnner and it makes the transition to playing, when that fateful day comes, the much feared, dreaded and (words that are not allowed on this child and lady friendly site), 'B' chord, easier to learn to play.
Welcome to Chordie,
Roger
You lucky guys!! It has been sunny and hot here today, but I will put up with it.
Roger
Please e-mail Per (Chordie's founder) at admin@chordie.com and explain your difficulty to him.
I wonder if there may be a gremlin in the system preventing you from publishing it and, if so, he is the wizard to sort it out.
Roger
Fantastic to be able to share the experience with your son. Please let us know when you have more track completed.
Roger
Thanks. I have sent a reminder to admin.

Here is a short video of two of my young students two weeks after being shown the dreaded 'B' chord. OK it is the shortened version of the chord but is quite sufficient for most songs and as you can see they are only playing one beat of the chord and have to get it clean.

Take your time and work on it daily, you will be able to get there.
Roger
Hi Paul,
Examples of how I do it e-mailed to you as I cannot show them here.
Roger
Super!! Well done young lady, I am now looking forward to the next one.
Roger
I will fourth it.
Rog
Years ago one appeared in my family (too long ago to remember where it came from) and I did try to play it, I was taking piano lessons at the time but found it very difficult.
Here in Portugal thay are quite popular and most Portuguese music shops will have some in. Although the usual configuration is buttons (for bass) in left hand, and piano keys (for melody) in right, some do have buttons for both.

Roger Guppy wrote:Classical guitars are far cheaper than acoustic and nylon strings are gentler on beginners fingers. That is the way I would go.
Roger
Don't classical guitars have wider necks that would be harder to finger chords? Or am I on the wrong train of thought?
A 3/4 size classical guitar has the same size neck as an acoustic/electric and the slightly smaller body size makes it easier for a youngster to handle. This is what we normally sell to young beginners and offer to buy the guitar back in exchange against an electric or acoustic when they have mastered the basics and are ready for an upgrade.
